Took some scrap before work today or was quick and easy to navigate the yard but when they payed me for the scrap they gave me a check instead of cash took it to the bank to cash and they couldnt cash it called them and they helped out with getting my money
The owner needs to dig deeper in his pockets and have more cash available, especially on late Friday afternoons! Takes forever to have to write checks out to everybody!
I've been here a couple times with my sister and although we have made a couple mistakes we have been corrected in them, but you guys need to smile a little bit more lol but we won't go anywhere else because we trust you guys, and we have had help getting some heavy shit out of our trailer. thanks again for all you guys do and the heat, and the sunshine, and in the rain. Every since the Lexington location closed, I started using American Scrap Iron & Metal. I met Mr. Mike, and a few other employees there. Everytime I go up there, these guys always take the time to first and foremost say hello, then they teach me something new about scraping metal or keep me informed about what I can do before coming up there. This place is absolutely and I'll be letting everyone know if they Scrap. Im a plumber, so the word will travel. I appreciate you guys for always taking care of the customer. Really awesome place to go to for all your recycling needs and insanely how people post ignorant reviews when things happen. We all have family to go home to during emergencies and Family First has always been my motto. For the selfish people out there you need to find something better to do with your life seriously.
They pay the best prices and give great deals on items if you are looking for them, all my experience with the scrape yard for the last 10 years has paid more out then any other. Just drive out with your scrape and see what I'm talking about

I recently visited this scrap yard, and I was impressed by the variety of materials they accepted. The staff was super friendly and efficient in assisting me with unloading my items. The yard was well-organized and clean, making the whole process smooth and hassle-free. The prices offered for my scrap items were fair, and I appreciated their commitment to recycling and environmental initiatives. Overall I was satisfied
Superior prices and staff compared to all other recycling places. 4 stars instead of 5 only because there's no lane nor median for long lines waiting in the road to turn intofor specifically this place. Too small of area for traffic inside the fence before and after turning in. And they don't update their buisness hours when they temporarily change for clean up and for dump trucks only when they close to the general public that expect Open, to be Open and not closed early or closed on normal buisness days. 4 stars and not 5 bc of those hassles but definitely for not being reachable to be called for hours inquiries calling to see if they are open or not. Still my favorite scrap ace and still my 1 and my choice to stick with.
This company never answers the phone. I understand things get busy but I showed up with a truckload of things at hwy 321 location and traveled a long distance for nothing. I show up at 3:00 p.m. which is 2 hours before closing and they are closing the gate because of a supposed emergency. Businesses need to stick to the time they have listed and if something comes up they need a backup person there. Especially to answer customers phone calls! The Fairfield road location has been shut down for years it seems and has finally reopened only to close the doors early on people, and now I am told that the Cayce location will be shut down until January 2024. I do NOT like my time and money to be wasted. I will be getting in touch with the better Business bureau.
How y'all got people screaming y'all open 8 to 5 daily but 4:55 y'all closed? I mean I know I stood there a good 15 mins before I get told they closed!!! What happen to the original people who opened it now it's like not any better then going to old two notch at least there they ain't tripping on being there 5 mins before closing

I'd be aware of what the scales say and what they pay you. If you have to cheat your customers to stay in business then you deserve to fail.
Scales aren't the question, me bringing you 30 lbs and you saying I brought you 29 is what I'm saying bot response.
I had a check bounce on me I felt bad when they didn’t believe that it was a NSF check, and I had to show proof as if I would say this to rip them off even though I felt ripped off not only by the check bouncing, but a full catalytic converter $23.00 seemed to be quit a low price for my first time ever selling one. The check was made right with cash. Other than this I never had a problem since moving here in 2016. One last thing is now when I have a did a lot and have a full trailer I get there and gates are shut closed! What is this about?! I will continue business with them, but only when gates are open though lol! Be Blessed be safe!
Pack your patience. Check bounced but they did pay me back and the return check fee from the bank. I did have to drive back over there though. FYI if you do call them the ringing sound on our end sounds weird so stay on the line just saying this bc I hung up real quick a couple times thinking it was a busy tone
True to their word! Was told a location was open but when arrived the gates were locked. When I called the man said if you come to the location off of Charleston Hwy I’ll make it worth your time.
I normally have no issues here. The only downfall is when they close earlier than they are supposed to. It would be nice if they added that to the automated voice message when you called so this gold laced gas isn’t wasted!
Have been using this location for years. But recently in the last few months it’s went way downhill. The staff is usually in a bad mood, and it affects their business. But more importantly, I’m told every time I come by there that they are really closed, but will take me anyway, which causes a “hurry up I don’t have all day” situation. Your website says open, and if I call the other location near Fairfield, they are always friendly and say that Cayce is open and ready to help me. Wish this location were that nice. I’ve also encountered several situations when they are busy where I have more than one staff member trying to direct me, and they are all directing me in a different area to park. They have no clue what’s going on and it causes more confusion. Going to have to start trying other scrap yards for awhile unfortunately.
A few months ago I call and got a price for scrap . When I got there the price was $2.00 less . I thought maybe the price dropped and it was an honest move by the company . Today I call and get a price and 3 hours later when I get the the price is $3.00 less than I was told . So it seems that they tell you they are paying the best price in town until you get unloaded then find out they are the lowest paying place in town. By the time you find out its too late . So it just cost me $126 to find out that this is the scam they're running to get you in the gate . I would rather go elsewhere for less money than be conned by these people. It won't happen again.
This was a great scrap yard, but when I checked their schedule for today it said they were open now till 3:00. I ride all the way out their to their closed gate! I was really frustrated with them today, i dont know if I'll be back again.
Been going there for quite awhile great service and people. However last visit all I got was a run around. Asked for manager and was told no one was around to help me and they were under new management.they said to call back which I did and said they couldn't do that now. In the past I had no problems. Not happy about this last visit. Hope things get better.
The guy that answered the phone was moody and seemed like he didn't want to be on the phone at all. I was supposed to be called by a tow driver. Never happened. Called back. Kept getting voicemail. Left a message. Was never called back and that was a week ago.
I called pull-a-part after that. They were offering the same thing and actually showed up to take my vehicle. I don't know how they have three stars and this place has five.
