I just left Advance Auto Parts located in the Okatie Center SC 29909 on Feb 27, 2026 at 1:25pm. I came in to swap out my battery for a new one. The woman working at the cash register who according to my receipt is named Sharyia G. had a very unpleasant attitude and responded in a rude unprofessional manner throughout the course of our interaction. I finally had to say something, and told her she seemed very unfriendly. Sfhe responded with "my bad that is just how I am". Wrong line of work, if that is just how you are. Customers want friendly positve interations and not attitude. Also maybe ask if the customer has a core exchange instead of just ringing up full price, I had said I was there with my car to get it swapped out, so good thing I knew to say something or I would have been charged full price with no credit from the core turn-in. Keep this employee off the register and away from customers. If I see her next time I come in, I will either ask to be helped by someone else or leave and just go somewhere else. O'reily in Bluffton has friendly employees, probably should have just gone there. I will say the guy that installed the battery was friendly and helpful so shout out to him, wish I knew his name. Hopefully this employee will learn to be friendly and helpful to customers instead of having an unfriendly unprofessional demeanor.

Waited patiently in line, 130 on a Sunday. I asked if I could have my battery checked that’s in my vehicle. She said it’s only her and another woman working and running “commercial”. Older blonde haired woman, for some reason even with the store completely empty she couldn’t take 4 minutes to help me out, pretty sad. Maybe I should be going somewhere else like AutoZone.

Overall, It's conveniently located near me and I usually get what I'm looking for, at a good price. Staff is a little lackadaisical. There are two women that work there that are very good. They are knowledgeable and helpful.

Rude to me when I asked if they would check the codes for me. The guy was a tall black man with gold teeth. Can't believe that's how they talk to customers when they offer the service. I asked for a manager and he snapped that she was in the back but didn't want to go get her for me. I'll never go to this place again

Ordered parts online at a great price. Items were ready for pickup in 30 minutes! Fantastic service all the way around. Would definitely recommend this Advanced Auto Parts.

Simple process of wiper blade install took 3 trips. Last trip was to return wipers. Sales folks acted like they were totally unhappy

I may shop at advance again, but definitely not at this location. Quite frankly, this was the worst customer service I ever experienced at any location ever. I was never greeted, walked around finding my own things for ten minutes while still not seeing a single employee. If I was dishonest, I could have walked right out without paying and not one person would have known. Then I stood at a register for a good three minutes waiting to ring out, only to have someone finally walk from behind an isle in the back, to just stand there and say nothing. Finally I said am I supposed to go somewhere else to get rung out? Still nothing. So I walked over to where the employee was standing motionless, and I asked if anyone in the store knew how to speak. Now that I rethink everything that happened because of having to type this out, I probably will just go to any of the other available auto parts stores next time. And you can look at my history to see how long I have been a shopper at your stores. Hopefully you start teaching employees better customer service.

Needed a battery replaced. Staff member swapped the old one out for the new one in about 10 min. Great place! Super helpful.

I had a very disappointing experience with the customer service here. I initially came in to have my battery checked and was rudely told by a woman (who I believe is the manager) that they couldn’t assist me until 11 a.m. that's why they had a sign-up on the door. When I returned at 11, I was then told they wouldn’t help me until the rain stopped—even though it was only lightly drizzling. Fortunately, a young man there was kind enough to assist me despite the weather. The woman's attitude was unprofessional and unwelcoming. If she is the manager, she seriously lacks basic customer service skills and might want to consider a different career path.

I love this store. Mel is one of the most attentive and responsible employees at advanced auto. It is rare for a retail establishment to have good employees these days.

I have been buying parts, accessories, and tools here for over 3 years. The last 3 times I’ve been back to recycle oil they stop me and say they can’t. I can’t control how they run their store but I can control where I buy my cars parts and accessories from. It won’t be here anymore.

Got a battery easy enough and they had a good selection of on sale car care items. Didn't have some fasteners I was looking for which were pretty common for body work. Didn't carry as much stuff for exterior work as much as mechanical maintenance.

A young man by the name of Griff was super helpful this afternoon. Jeep broke down nearby and he took care of me quickly and accurately and had a GREAT attitude. Nice to see outstanding customer service these days!

Well I recently added a negative review about girl that used to work there that it was very rude and uncooperative. Well that has been changed with the new associates, Scott was very helpful and nice . He answered all my questions in a polite manner. Now I can say that I like to going back to advance auto in okatie.

Be aware of the prices listed on the racks and the ones the salesman gives you. When I asked when the taxes went up like doubled, his answer was "these are Sunday prices". There was a gentleman behind me started laughing. My reply was "I need it I'll take it". I didn't want to get in any kind of arguments, I just left. I didn't see this guy before in the store. Don't forget: SUNDAY PRICES! I cannot put 0 (zero) stars, the review doesn't post.

Very friendly staff! I had a check engine light come on and they handed me the code reader to check it. Due to Covid they could t check it for me but walked me through how to use it and gave me feedback on what the codes meant. Very helpful and at no cost. 10/10

My husband was in for a battery Friday 4/23 at around 5:30 and came home &told me he was really impressed with the young man who put in a new 24 series battery and had him out the door in 10 minutes.

So my 'normal' rating is 4 out of 5 because I usually figure there is something that could blow me away, but most things don't and are perfectly fine. On this particular visit, I was running in to grab a few things-very much an in and out sort of thing. And it would've been, save for everyone in the store was assisting the other customer. I stood there watching as the employee left his register to go look with the manager for the item that the other customer needed. This is fine when there is no one else in the store, but it's really not great to ditch your other customer to help someone who is receiving help from the manager. What should have taken five minutes took close to thirty. And after I get off work and stop to do a quick errand, if it's not smooth, I get very grumpy.

They were quick to ask if help was needed and assisted me in making sure what I needed was the correct item for my Harley. I also purchased oil and filter for my harley maintenance. Great job guys

Came to the store needing new battery and hoped to get it installed there. They turned off my car to check battery and diagnosed it as bad. When we went inside to get new battery I was told they only had the most expensive one in stock. Being from out of town and pretty much stranded I said okay, go ahead and install it. We were then told that they couldn't install new battery because 3 screws had to be removed to access the battery. We removed the screws and got them access to battery, but manager said it was still against store policy to install. We called a local competitor (a store that also starts with "A") and they said come on down. When we tried to start our car, it wouldn't crank and they weren't very interested in helping us at least get back to the condition we were in when we stopped by for help. Finally we were offered a jump start by an employee and we went to the competitor. In 15 minutes they had the battery changed and us back on the road. I think I know where I'll go first next time.

First part store I have been to that I didn't think they were going to let me in. They had 15 minutes left until they closed I get that but to rush to the door and play 50 questions to see if I could come in or not. It was just lug nuts for a boat trailer and this older gentlemen acted like it was the end of the world to show me where they were so I could pick what I needed out. He made it clear they can't look up trailer parts but got mad when I said all I needed to know was the thread pitch and I could get what I needed and I had one like I needed in my hand. All he had to do was point me in the direction not be hateful. The younger guy behind the counter was nice as could be. That's the only reason they get a 2 otherwise this store would not rate. This happened on Friday 7/12/19.

Been in there a couple times. Store is clean and well maintained. The prices are decent. Pretty typical of your advanced auto parts. The staff has been hit or miss. The first two times was okay. They dont greet you are anything like at my local advanced but were helpful when you went up to the counter. Today two guys were extremely rude, short with you, and not helpful. Hopefully next time I go back I get the helpful staff

Buyer beware! My husband bought truck batteries from this place with a warranty. Store is refusing to abide by the warranty even with receipt! With no explanation! Go elsewhere! Rock auto or advanced online would be better options!

2 older guys ignored me. Didn't budge to help me. Unfriendly, no initiative, found the bulbs myself, no assistance. Not a smile. Just nothing. I'll never go to any advanced auto stores again. I had the same experience at a different Adv auto.

Unfortunately I can't say anything good about the customer service they provide at this location. The manager of the store expressed to my wife and I that it was a inconvenience just to look up a part on the computer for us. Then promised to call us when the part arrived,He didn't. When I called long after the brake pads arrived for my Honda it made me feel that if the staff, (manager) could not even follow up on a single task what else are they not doing at this location.
