Me and my parents been living in Keowee Key since the first week of September of 2019. We love living here we came from Illinois. One of my favorite things to do is go to the club especially when they have karaoke night. Or when they have the fall festival and my favorite funk band is playing there. I’m also love the golf course even I don’t play golf. I actually do work on the golf course I’m part of the golf maintenance team.
The walking trails of Keowee Key are pretty amazing. Viewing the Sunrise from the lake trail and visiting the overlook at the highest point in Keowee Key are two of my favorites.
A lovely neighborhood with a big dark cloud over their facilities. Getting together for community functions hasn’t been this disorganized since the last guy was in charge. I’d use names but I’m afraid management hasn’t come to work/left their office in months. The food is always good and the servers are lovely, however it feels as though the employees are lost half of the time and constantly looked rushed or overworked. I’m given the impression upper management is a revolving door of either laziness or apathy.
We reserved a stay and play and were excited to come see the community, play golf and have dinner to see if this would be a place we could retire to. We get a message at 9 at night by email that they could schedule a 4:18 tee time which meant we would not be able to play all 18 and possibly only 9. We had contracted thru them to stay at a condo there for $350. We immediately reached out to Robin and Steve Klestinec. (Owners of the condo)We never heard back from them, Chuck our realtor nor Christine de Vlaming from the sales office. So in order to not be charged other hotel and travel cost we let everyone know we’d like to reschedule due to the late notification regarding golf during our stay. Today they tell us they can reschedule the visit but Robin and Steve Klestinec would not reschedule the stay in the condo and we would be out the $350. We have yet to hear from them regarding this. Only Christine has called. We explained this was arranged thru her (Christine de Vlaming) and the tee time was given to us so late. She said she gets tee times 4 days in advance but did not notify us. We said we would be happy to reschedule on a date that worked for everyone and not just cancel and request a refund. We are now notified they will not reschedule and keep the $350 as well. WARNING do not venmo the Klestinec any money. We will not be moving to this community by the way we were treated. We tried to make other arrangements and reschedule maybe even have them transfer the $350 to a different unit etc. Nope. The tee time was not our fault yet we are being treated like it is. I am baffled at the way this has played out. So just be careful if you are looking in to the community.
Great place for a vacation for all ages. Pools, marina, tennis, and dining all in one community. Love the walking trails around the lake as well. Will be back for future vacations and this would be an ideal subdivision for a vacation home or retirement if my husband would agree to live somewhere with an HOA.
We love living at Keowee Key! Great people with excellent management and board and an awesome staff! Many amenities and very reasonable dues. We like the various dining options and choices with good food at reasonable prices.
After a conversation with the management it became clear they do not value their veterans or their service! Service dogs are not recognized even with certified credentials. Truly disappointing in a state that values veterans!
Would love to do more work in that area the people are friendly to people that give them a good product at a decent price they are great with referring reputable buisnesses with clean jobs and satisfied costumers.
Great Place with Plenty of Things that a person can enjoy like the Bistro, Club, Marina, Fitness Center, Walking Trails and a Great View at the look out Point on the Northside. The Security is First Class and the Supervisors is very Handsome and Super Friendly guy!
The community is nice, but the Security Supervisor is my FAVORITE! He was so helpful and so sincere, he assisted me with everything I needed. But don't get discouraged, he's a wonderful Pacific Islander with a big heart!
Very nice neighborhood with lots of amenities and friendly groups to join if you're new to the area. It is surrounded by the lake. Some of the most amazing views.
Enjoy playing golf on the course. A nice gated community with lots of trees and wildlife. There were deer grazing on a hillside near one of the fairways. One was an 8-pointer. They barely moved when we played through. Should have taken a picture to post.
They have made it so difficult for contractors to enter. What exactly are they trying to acomplish by having unarmed guards at the entrances. To create traffic congestion with contractors trying to enter. They only document the driver every once in a while that enter. Why not document everyone who enters. Then if there was an issue you would know who all was actually on the grounds.
Well I'm a retired disabled Operation Iraqi Freedom vet and have been living here 2 months.Didnt really know the procedure about boat storage so I parked my small jonboat in a open visitor spot,I've noticed months before I brought my small boat here that several boats have been there for months.If any of you know how the VA works you will know we barely get paid enough to make it.Yesterday a neighbor ask me if I was gonna go to the wounded Warrior dinner,after being singled out today I dont care if I havnt ate in a month I would starve before I ate anything from this group of people. Way to welcome new people to your money grabbing community!!
The whole community is beautiful. The amenities are amazing and make you feel like a celebrity. The various "look-out" points in the neighborhood have the best views and the side of the winding roads are home to phenomenal wild-life viewing.
The Club restaurant is my favorite. The staff is amazing and the food is out of this world. Paired with the amazing desserts, and you've got a winner!
Sometimes it's hard to get in the gates. I'm a nanny for a family (have been for a few months now) and most all of the security guards have seen me at some point. If I have forgotten my pass to get in, they can make me feel like a criminal.
My very first day in a guard was extremely rude and bothered that she had to make me a pass (the owner called me in a pass until she could buy me one). She made me sit for 15 minutes while she looked through her records and then couldn't find where I was called in so she made me wait while she called and didn't get an answer..
Lovely place, great amenities and professional staff. Gated and very safe and clean. Golf course is excellent condition and good mountain point and shoot style.
Wonderful community. For the lake and location, it is a great value with lots of amenities. The HOA fees seem high at first look, but you get what you pay for. They have great roads, buried utilities, golf, workout facilities, multiple pools and docks, beaches, walking trails.... The list goes on and on. And compared to others on the same lake it is a bargain.
Very secure - cannot get past the gate unless yuh a resident or your name is added by a resident fir entrance - picturesque and clean with wonderful views and amazingly quiet, not even waves. Be aware lots of amateur boaters
