The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Very accommodating for me since I work during the day. Very competent and efficient. Kept me informed during the tire change process.
I am happy with most of the work I had done. Unfortunately the technician did not follow instructions given to him. I had an oil addictive that should have been 2 ounces per quart of oil which would have been 14 ounces for my truck. He instead replaced a entire quart of oil with a quart of the additive I brought which means according to the manufacturer, whom I called while at the store, I'll have to change my oil again between 2000 and 3000 miles.
I was recently in Florence, SC and had a tire to start going flat on me. I made it to the Blacks store on Palmetto Street I believe. They were super friendly and knowledgeable! The team member even helped find several reasonablely priced tires when I had to replace two on the back. I'm grateful for Black's Tire- Florence being there when I was in a bind!

I was in town for a family visit. I heard what seemed to be metal to metal noise coming from our front brakes. The team at Black's got us in and completed the inspection. Although parts were not available in town, Joe provided contact information for a dealer in Columbia that has the parts. We were able to get the pads and get the repairs done at Black's without an appointment. We also feel that we were treated as family and the Team just wanted to take care of the issue for us. I highly recommend Black's on West Palmetto in Florence.
The best service ever!!!! I called after my husband and I got stranded while traveling for Christmas. We called multiple other mechanics in the area and everyone was closed. Black Tires staff offered roadside assistance on Christmas Eve an hour before closing at no cost despite us being 45 minutes from their location- truly a Christmas miracle. They jumped our vehicle and got us back on the road within the hour. Endlessly grateful for their generosity and kindness.
I took my car in for a leaking Brake line that I did not want to fix myself laying on the ground under the car. My car is from up north and has a bit of rust. Thier "tech" claimed both rear brake lines were leaking, and all 4 calipers were bad and he was afraid to lift it because of the rust. There is nothing wrong with any of the calipers and I lift the car regularly with floor jacks to rotate the tires. I've been a back yard mechanic my whole life and graduated from technical college in 08. Worked for Goodyear, and a GM dealer. I currently work on Fire and EMS trucks and knew exactly what is and isn't wrong with my car. I am giving 2 stars because the guys up front were very professional and have great customer service. I just hope they can find them some real Techs to work in the back.

We got a flat while on our road trip right at 12:30! We came to blacks tire and auto service and everyone was so kind. Joe gave us an honest opinion and knowing we still had a long road trip ahead got us back as soon as possible. John took care of our tire issue and replaced it so quick. Less than 30 minutes later and we are back on the road! 10/10 can’t recommend these guys enough! Best service you could get! Price was not bad either to get a tire replaced!
On my previous visit, the tires that were installed did not have the proper speed rating that OE indicated...tires were replaced with the correct rating with no questions...Black's Tire was courteous and professional thru the whole process...highly recommended!!
I received an oil change yesterday as part of the service they rotated my tires. They broke the tool I need to get my specialty rims off and something else. After driving my car it starts making a loud noise and shaking. I had to have it towed back. Can’t get service until Monday since they closed at 1p Saturday and closed Sunday. Not happy
Came to Florence to visit family and put a lift kit on my daughter's truck. Black's fit me in on short notice for an alignment and did the job quick. They were more than reasonable with price and even helped me out a little. Couldn't recommend them more.

The Palmetto Blvd. store has on two different vehicles to over price and claim things need to be done that just don’t! After leaving upset, I brought my car to a repair shop I trust and learned I don’t need two ball joints or both CV axles and the struts are good too. Is this a tire shop or criminal enterprise?
Had an emergency gas line leak on a Friday night, they looked at it first thing Saturday, gave me an idea of what it was. Made a plan to repair at a later date. No charge where another repair biz wanted $260 for a diagnostic b4 even trying to help. This is how you make customers.
My husband was fighting with mounting a zero turn rear tire. Called blacks tire (west palmetto) talked to Bob an he said as long as was a certain size rim they could do it. Took tire over an the mounted the tire for us in no time at all. Amazing service I can not thank Bob an the tech enough truly great people an amazing service!!
The fellas up front were awesome! Hit something during my travels which messed up under carriage. They helped with oil change, tire rotation, and fixed the under carriage. Wonderful experience all around.
The staff of Blacks Tire and Battery on E Palmetto St in Florence was very pleasant, helpful and professional. They serviced my BMW and pointed out that my two rear tires were pretty worn and should be replaced, especially with me going on vacation this week. Got a good deal on a pair of Kelly tires. I came in about 8:30 in the morning because my husband had a new (used) tire put on the front of my car and it had a really terrible shake. I called a place in Florence and they told me it sounds like you just need the tire balanced. They couldn’t get me in until end of next week. I told her I really needed it done asap because I transport my kids to and from school all week and Lord forbid something happen while I have them with me. She told me that Blacks tire was really good and that they could probably get me in quicker. I called the day before and they told me I could bring it in I wouldn’t have to make an appointment. I dropped the car off and he told me it would be about an hour so I left and came back.. it was ready when I got there so I paid for it and left and it had the same problem… never fixed.. okay no problem let me go back in here and see maybe the balance wasn’t the problem. When I came in to discus it in a very calm manner the man instantly got extremely defensive shrugging his shoulders basically telling me “well I don’t know what to tell you, we balanced your tire which is what you wanted”. He told me 3 times that I needed to get new tires soon. I acknowledged him stating I would let my husband know.. as I was telling him about my issue not being any different he shrugged and said well you do need new tires.. I said yes you told me that but that isn’t what is making my car shake! The thing is I had a calm manner never once raised my voice or became rude but was met with rudeness the minute I walked in the door with the issue! I called my husband in tears for how a place can just take advantage of somebody like that and be soo rude.. I don’t make negative reviews I may have only done it twice in my lifetime but this upset me so bad..

Got a quote earlier in the week, they were very helpful and quick and showed me the wear on my current tires. Went back and got new tires, they installed them and new wiper blades while i walked the rail trail, so very efficient.

After going multiple places and no one could fix my car. Took my car for them to see what's going on with my alignment. Was replacing 2 rear tires every 3 months. Got that call to let me know the condition of my car and the quote right away. I agreed to the quote and ask if they could fix it they did just that my car now rides the way it suppose to ride. Thanks Black's tires I wish I could remember their names but just know everyone is helpful and caring. I greatly appreciate you guys getting my car back right.
I originally went to one of the local competitors because both of my rare tires were constantly loosing air pressure. I became frustrated with the competitor and left that establishment, on my way home I decided to stop at Blacks, I walked in the door and was greeted by a staff person not asking what I needed but instead I was asked “How I was doing today”, after which I told them what was going on, they said okay we will take a look at it. I went and sat outside for about 20 to 30 mins then here comes my car. I was amazed, the gentleman that got out my car was friendly, walked me back in, thanked me for coming in today - he was extra nice. As I proceeded to pay and leave… they even thanked me for keeping the streets clean… by picking up the nails with my tires. I thought that was a cute joke - in an attempt to make light of a situation. They were friendly, professional and valued my time. I certainly recommend Blacks Tire on Palmetto Street in Florence, SC.
Great place. I took my vehicle to 2 other shops locally. I had tired put on at both places. My vehicle was shaking bad. I took it back repeatedly to the other shops and it wasn't fixed. After 1 stop at Black's, my vehicle drives amazing. A huge thanks to Paul and the rest of the staff.
