Art was amazing and flexible when I got a nail in my tire. He and his team were able to fix it within the morning. Super grateful for this spot!

I approached Jeff then subsequently Art, asking for an estimate for body work regarding rust and right side mirror cover replacement on my Acura TSX Wagon. First Jeff said $1200, but it could change depending on how extensive the rust was. I had to come back because Jeff was not authorized to give any kind of a firm number. Came back, spoke to Art who said $1000, again, it could change depending on the extent of rust. The job was done, to the tune of $2000, not including tax or credit card charge (of which I was never informed). Nor was I informed about the additional expenses before going ahead with the job. I would not have had the job done knowing it would run almost $2100 total. What kind of business gets away with doubling an estimate for a final bill? Answer, a business that does not know how to fairly and accurately estimate a job! I must now decide whether I should just write poor reviews, or dispute the entire bill through my credit card?

Politely asked me to get away. Strangely, expressed some issues about my license plate, and advised me to return car to dealer ?

This is the rudest place, no customer service skills whatsoever! Sounds like a grumpy old man who doesn’t want business!!!!!

I wanted to consider this a positive experience, but sadly, it was not. I spent roughly $2,500 to mechanically refresh a vehicle that ran well enough when it arrived but got progressively worse while in the shop's care. There was lackluster communication at best and eventually, I just got tired of paying bills with no invoices or improvement in running condition and sold the truck. In addition, their primary mechanic Jeff brokered a deal for a Lexus LX450 that I expressed interest in that had evidently been nursing a long-festering headgasket leak and ended up needing a complete rebuild to the tune of $4,000. Given Art's serviced the vehicle for the last several years, I suspect Jeff knew it was drinking coolant for quite some time (the radiator drained itself over a period of 3 months after I took possession with coolant evident in the combustion chambers) and simply chose to ignore this issue when I said I might be a buyer. Not exactly on the up-and-up. I would surmise they are one of the few shops left willing to work on older vehicles, and that is certainly worth acknowledging - but my experience in this regard has been far, far better at other service facilities in Rhode Island and elsewhere.

We were traveling through with our family and needed a tire repair. They were so kind and made the repair quick and easy.

This is where to go when you've tried elsewhere - without results. Excited for my first trip thru the carwash with my newly acquired sports car. Shocked to see water pouring into the passenger floor footwell. First, I took it another shop to get the car's water drains cleaned. They said, sorry, "drains are all clear". We don't know what the problem is." Then I took it to Art's Automotive in Jamestown. Done! He explained there are different levels of drains & the lower levels were still plugged. Problem solved. Experience counts!

Art is a hack Won’t make an appointment, wants you to call the day of just so he can tell you he can’t look at it until next week. Spend your money ANYWHERE else, this place isn’t worth it

Charged me to fix two problems that were not fixed at all, as they were detected immediately upon driving the car just after they were "fixed". Took the car back in, did some more work and got charged again.

extremely rude service. Can’t believe I got hung up on ad a customer. Never go here when you can go anywhere else and the people will treat you decently

We were vacationing in Jamestown and had a wheel bearing issue. Art really helped us out of a bind by fixing our situation the day before we had to leave (so we could drive home safely).

Art & Jan Washburn are The Best! When my 2007 Murano limped into Jamestown at the start of a holiday weekend, I thought I was completely out of luck. Then fortune smiled on me and Art got me up and running and roadworthy for the trip home, saving my vacation! Great experience!
