Gradated in 1962. Got a job immediately with no hassle. Received 2 Master Degrees, one from Rowan and the other from Drexel U. No problem getting into either program. My experience at California was all positive.

I visited for homecoming. The campus is lovely and green. There are places to sit and take it all in and traffic is low providing for more walking and it's a safe place for children.

Just went back for a visit as an alumni to talk to some of my former profs. No students. Anywhere. Might have seen 2 dozen total. Felt like I was walking through a corpse. Dreadful landscaping where everything with leaves is forced into a globe shape like it's a boxwood. Poor upkeep of infrastructure. (Yet, still, endless unnecessary new construction!) Arboretum hasn't been maintained for a decade. I could pitch a tent in the weed patch behind building E and no one would ever know I was living there. All that remains is Armenti's monument to himself.

Wonderful school. I enjoyed very minute. Absolutely beautiful picturesque campus along the Monongehela River. Wonderful student union and residence halls. Minutes from Pittsburgh.Good profs and comprehensive course offerings. Athletics are impressive and fine arts are valued.

The faculty and staff there were very courteous and caring to the families of the students that were there for their interview for the upward bound program. My daughter Kenna McCune can't wait to find out if she was accepted to the program. She is staying positive about it and hopes that she was.

Campus is nice, food is nice, walls are THIN, students are loud, horrible terrible awful communication by many authority figures, you have to go on wild goose chases for most information, have to hound anyone to do anything or get anything done

I went to undergrad and grad school here. Can’t get a return phone call or email to fill out the most basic, standard form. My post grad university, is able to fulfill the same request within 24 hours. If you choose an educational degree at this university; this is your future. Hounding the school you paid tuition to in order to get needed documents filled out.

I'm only 14 and this is my dream college, it's very beautiful, and I hope I can get in easily. I can't wait! I hope you guys do stuff for band, because I really want to be a band teacher.

Other students didn't seem the nicest, some buildings are a little run down, and too many online classes. Also a bad location with nothing to do. Overall, not a good 4 years. Also, asides for some teachers being really good, and the school being somewhat cheap there is nothing positive about this campus.

1994 I was part of the Cumberland Redskins Football team and had Football camp here. Had a great time

Very nice but small University. Very clean and there were lots of campus police around. The cafeteria was limited on options. They could definitely do better with that. Probably the worst options from any of the 10-15 campuses we've visited. Only other downside is it's literally in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is around. I didn't even see a grocery store nearby but I could have missed it.

Graduated as a non-traditional student at 27. My wife graduated from Cal, my brother-in-law is an alumnus also. My best friends are classmates, my mentor was my professor and now my peer. I felt a very personal connection with my professors at Cal. Inspiring and caring.

Beautiful campus that is not too far from Pittsburgh. The campus amenities from the more modern dormitories, classroom, dining halls and recreational facilities were nice to see. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about the various aspects of campus life for not only incoming freshman but for upperclassmen as well.

My daughter had her student orientation today, our tour guide was awesome, she was very informative and had a great personality! All of the staff and students we came in contact with were great!

Beautiful campus. Of course, quiet now as students are all on-line for fall term.

I am a sophomore in high school. My parents both went here, many years ago!, and enjoyed it. As I’m becoming older and almost a junior, I believe this would be my best option. So hopefully I’ll be here in about two years.

Good school the president is a great leader I just don’t like how the GA/work study position are distributed seem to be on a nepotism over need base

Great educational program, that fully prepares you for Educational Systems across the world!! Graduated 1989...

School staff aren’t very friendly or helpful. Other than that it’s a good place for an education. I find the teachers/professors are the exception!

I believe this is a good school. I think I got a good graduate level education here. The tuitions are reasonable. Being in a less urban area, it is usually easier to find parking than the university where I completed my undergraduate degree. Another nice feature is that alumni can get extremely reasonable rates for continued membership in the fitness center.

The Global online program seems like a convenient and good move but depending on your program, you may just end up wasting time and money or accruing debt that you cant pay back. The only thing you can do with the Masters degrees in rehab and exercise science is be a personal trainer...and you can do that without getting a fake masters degree.

My daughter just graduated from Cal U. She had an excellent experience and enjoyed her 4 yrs there. She has continued to a masters program at Pitt and has had no trouble finding work or getting accepted into other programs. All universities function in a similar way and it's up to the student to take advantage of all the opportunities that the school offers. Frankly, I see Cal U as an extremely good value that all students should consider before getting into crazy debt at other universities.

Caylacakes1 is right. Don't waste your money at this school. I signed up for an online class for the Spring 2017 semester and dropped after several weeks. Professor was a joke. It took days to get a reply after an assignment was submitted. There was no guidance about assignments and then when you asked a question the reply was just as vague. Had a 98% on first assignment and then next grade dropped to an 80% without any explanation for it. I asked specifically what was wrong with it and the professor had trouble trying to convey the answer. The low grade seemed like retaliation for asking questions. I found the professor to be immature, spiteful, and unprepared to teach. I am still fighting with the university for a full refund. It was nothing more than a very expensive correspondence course.

The majority (most not all) of the staff currently employed put in the minimum amount of effort to see the students succeed and it's really sad. Many of my fellow classmates and I have never felt like a priority to some teachers and other members of the offices at the University. Some of the staff honestly make me feel like a burden.

I graduated in 1971 with a degree in education. My training was excellent, far superior to the other institutions I experienced over the years. I am grateful for the preparation for teaching that I received at Cal. U.

I graduated Cal U the last year it was referred to as California State College. I credit this institution with giving me a great education that I have used throughout my life.

do not go here if you intend to go into anything drafting related. i left feeling i gained no knowledge. everything was extremely dated, and very very basic. some great teachers and such for a small school if you like that vibe. but like i said engineering/cad, do the right thing and go to a branch penn state school or something. similar prices but a way better education. all my hs tech teachers went there so I followed and i left knowing not much more than i did in HS when it came to CAD.

Had a great time at CalU. Professors in my major were top notch and I learned so much. My Applied Comp Sci degree has served me well in life.
