Then placed it exactly where I needed it in front of the garage.

Had a light come on in a newer car (to me) and after some extensive googling thought I should get it looked at. Gaines couldn’t have been kinder with their service. I was grateful for this prior to a long drive home.
We were camping in Gaines when our brakes started scraping. Gaines Garage got us in the next morning. They replaced our rear brake pads and rotors. They offered us the old parts to show us the damage. We were back on the road by 11am. These guys are very honest and affordable. The quaint shop took me back to my childhood.

As a woman who owns a Truck I often get treated like I don't know anything.
Tonight I spent over an hour stranded on the interstate, because I REFUSED to use the first fool my insurance company was going to send out to change my tire.
The owner himself, called me....told me he was within 5 minutes of my location, and that I should be back up and rolling soon.
Yep, he sure was 100% correct, He NEVER tried to treat me like I didn't know anything, was very professional and even said "Thank You" for helping me (I stood way back down the interstate flagging traffic over into the pass lane so I could make sure he was safe changing my tire for me)
It sure is nice to find someone with good ethics this day and age.
Keep up the good work young man, you will succeed with anything you try to do.

While travelling through the area we were met by the unexpected surprise of our rental car leaking oil. We phoned Gaines Garage after hours and they met us at the shop. Not only did they diagnose and fix the problem, but they did so in the kindest way. We are so incredibly grateful to the Gaines Garage owner and mechanic for how they helped us out when we literally had no options. Thank you!🙏
Wayne was excellent. My car broke down on a trip about 4hrs away from home. He was patient with me even though I was nervous and probably sounded dumb. He checked out the issue for me, discovered he couldn't help me, but set with up with the shop that could.
Where’s the 0 star? He doesn’t even deserve one. Totaled a car, he was called first and we asked to take it elsewhere and he refused. He also refused to deal with insurance or AAA (which he advertises both on his website and at his shop that he does). He proceeded to say I owed 600 dollars out of pocket for a 10 mile tow. Oh and my other option, sign the title of the car over to him. At this point I was at a loss either way. Regardless this crook made a bad day even worse. Never take anything there even in an emergency. Not worth the time or the money.
Gaines provided towing service for us when our car broke in the middle of nowhere on I 86 on labour day. Besides the towing, for which they were called directly by the insurance company, Wayne tried to help us (myself, my wife and our 7 month old) finding a hotel close enough to the auto repair shop we could walk there and a way for us to get there. I had probably 10 phone calls with him in a couple of hours, and I just would like to say thank you!
My car broke down 10 minutes out of Galeton the day before Easter, and I had this guy pick it up and haul it to Harrison Valley. This is a 17 mile drive and should take less than 30 minutes. The roads are not bad that way, either. I had no choice because nobody else was willing to do it that day. He charged me $280 just to haul my car 17 miles. He wouldn't even unload my car, either, until he was paid. He threatened to take my car to his garage if he wasn't paid immediately. Although the service was decent, and the wait was only 3-4 hours, I cannot contemplate charging such a price for a 17 mile trip. I also thought the threats were a little ridiculous. I would not recommend this guy based on my experience, unless it is an absolute emergency and you can guarantee your insurance will pay such a fee.
Horrible towing service. Loaded truck wrong way and tonneau cover ripped completely off and damaged truck. Driver acted completely oblivious and just dropped off and left. Super unprofessional and hate that State Farm uses a third party services with such terrible service and reviews. I highly suggest you stay clear of this business and services. TERRIBLE!
Took the long way. Charged me $120 in cash extortion money to pick me up at the hotel and let me ride with them to the dealer with my car. Called the dealer while on route and talked them into rejecting the car and was going to take it back to PA and store it. I hope he enjoys that $120 -- because kharma is a bear.
