I had a fantastic experience with Dave's Buyright in 2016. That car's transmission finally went in January 2025 so my wife and I went to this new place. I expressed interest in a chevy Trax that he had and told him so. Took a day off of work to go get it, only to arrive as he sold it to someone else. First come first serve right? He told us he could get more in, so we waited. He got a grey one in, then an orange one. So again, I took off of work and showed up but ONLY the orange one was available. Test drove it and it rode nicely, was clean, one owner. I told him I liked it but asked what was up with the slight burning oil smell. His response was "well we did just have its oil changed." Smiling all the while. So, I assumed maybe some got on the engine. Surely, he'd tell me if there were any real issue. Bought it and took it home. Went to drive it to work the VERY NEXT DAY and the check engine light came on and a REEK of burning oil came through the vents. Managed to get it to my regular mechanic and the codes P0299 and P0422 showed. It was spewing oil through a gasket, and the Catalyst system is SHOT. I contacted him and he was "shocked." He took it back and he "Fixed" it. So, it was unusable from the 17th to the 28th when I was able to get it back. Immediately, I could smell something wasn't right. I told him so on the 29th. He insisted it was fine; he replaced a gasket and an o ring. On the 2nd, the check engine light came back on and the smell is still awful. Because he never addressed the catalyst/emissions issue. It's like driving with the exhaust pumping straight into the cab. Again, I contacted him, stating the problem. The next day he replied, and I explained to him that I never would have purchased this vehicle had I known it had all these problems. And I'd like to return it. He told me I should use the great warranty he gave us and pay him to fix it. I need to pay him to fix something he sold me broken...? The catalyst system is shot. I did not put $2300 down and finance it for 3 years in order deal with this. I did not receive the product I paid for, and alI I want to do at this point is return it. Or at the least, have him address the real issue and fix it. Since I requested to return it, he's ignoring all my messages. Don't buy here. Just like a previous reviewer, he will sell you busted products and get more money from you in order to fix them. If he fixes the problem I bought the car with or takes it back as a return I will update this review to reflect a resolved issue. My check engine light is still on. I made an awful mistake going to SLC Auto.
I and my husband bought a vehicle from here in November 2023. We had problems with in the first day. We broke down and he took the vehicle in to look at it said it was the battery and replaced it. Then the check engine light came on. We notified him and it was in the shop 3 time and used my extended warranty without permission. Still resulting 3 months later with an uninspected vehicle that has finally been fixed by ourselves without his help. I would never suggest this dealer for anyone!!!
Our experience of buying a vehicle was so good, we went back and bought a second.
Any and all questions or concerns were met quickly, honestly, and professionally.
I for one am glad we have a small businesses like SLC in our community. I would send anyone in need of a vehicle there!

This dealer is using JB weld to hold together their vehicles. We bought a truck recently that had Jb weld holding together the transmission and drive shaft. It was brought the their attention less then 24 hours later…our money should have been refunded! see you in court! Hopefully no one’s family gets injured with your shady mechanically skills. The older reviews shouldn’t be allowed to represent this place since you took over
Took my wife's car in to get fixed for inspection it needed quite a few things they got it done in one day and saved us a little money excellent people to work with!
My experience at this shop unfortunately was not a good one. My normal place to get my car inspected had an unfortunate fire which left me seeking a new place to get my car inspected. When I first had my car inspected I was given a list of repairs that needed to be made in order for it to pass. Ok I get it that much makes sense. I made the necessary repairs and brought the vehicle back to this location, however it was not in the allotted time deemed necessary so a whole new inspection needed to be done. Ok I get it there’s rules and regulations so I agreed and said sure go for it. After they were finished everything was ok with the exception of one tire needs to be replaced. I again was frustrated but understood and proceeded to get another tire put on. When I returned I was told a whole new inspection had to be done and they could only do so many because of their qualified mechanics availability. So in the meantime my son missed his driving test at the dmv and had to reschedule for 2 months from now. To make matters worse the place I ended up going to did the inspection in literally 10 min and didn’t even look at the tire. So although I hate leaving bad reviews for any business I feel I have to on this one. What else can I say except my experience there was a bad one and I probably won’t be back. And if you’re seeking any type of place to be lenient at all on a vehicle that needs to be inspected this just isn’t the place. I can say they were friendly and he didn’t charge me for the failed inspection so I’ll give credit where credit is due.
I have dealt with Dave in multiple ways. I have purchased a vehicle outright, purchased and financed a vehicle, had him do major car repair on a vehicle (not one purchased via him), and had him do minor maintenance type work on that same car. In all facets he and his mechanics have taken care of me. Given me great prices. Made dealing with them as easy as possible. I trust him.
Dave was fantastic with my moms van, told her just what she needed and his prices are really good. Doesn't break the bank. He checks the vehicles completely front to back. Thanks Dave!!
I have not done business with this company on any occasion. That being said, In my honest opinion there is some shred of responsibility for drivers of company vehicles. I witnessed aggressive and frankly dangerous driving of a company vehicle on the early evening of Saturday February 13, 2021 8n Carbondale, PA.
I drive a company vehicle as well, and if I drive in a manner that is unsafe, I face bad reviews.
I initially just did a simple star review as opposed to a long, honest opinion review; however, the company has reached out on Google, email, and a persoal Facebook account to attempt to contact me. The last contact being a threat of legal recourse for slander. Fortunately I know that my honest opinion isn't grounds for slander.
So for the future, perhaps be more cautious of who drives company vehicles and who may find their behind the wheel behavior detrimental to the image of the company.
Awesome experience! Purchased a used car under $5,000 dollars. The sales experience was very easy and their was absolutely no pressure. Dave is a great guy and I would highly recommend!
We had an eye a car, and said he would call, he didn't we caught him the act, he sold it to someone to couple. Don't buy from him. He is not reliable, he doesn't keep to word. Good luck!
We drove up from the Allentown/Easton area to purchase a vehicle here. Dave was excellent to work with. We purchased a very nice vehicle from here and could not be any happier about the price.
