They had plenty of shovels and rock salt in stock, even when other retailers were out. I'll never buy another crappy shovel from Walmart again - Werner had decent shovels and lots of options, and the employees were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this place!
This store is local and not "big box" which makes any purchase I make more meaningful to me and our community. I am always amazed at the inventory of items, some of which are on Amazon and usually at a higher price. My wife and I went there to get grub killer and fungicide which no other store in our area carried, not Lowe's or Home Dep. Werner had it. When leaving, an employee who I believe was named Bill (with a beard) was going home having completed his shift. When he saw us carrying the bags which had some weight for two "seniors" he immediately offered to carry them to our car for us. He might have just "walked on by" but he didn't, he did the right thing which is rare in our society these days. People like this make Werner and our community tick. Keep up the good work folks, you have my business forever.
Great variety of tools, and merchandise . Prices are higher than expected even for a local small business, I prefer to shop at small businesses because that helps the community. But some of these prices should be adjusted for example I went in there for a 3M face shield The price was $20 upon looking elsewhere it should have been around $9.99 I purchased two of them because they had them and I was there but in these times we really should watch pricing because people are struggling everywhere. I will continue to shop at this location as I said I prefer to support locally own businesses but I will have to watch and compare prices or in larger purchases.
After a fiasco with Lowe's, we decided to take a shot in the dark and see if Werner carried storm doors. We were shocked at the personal service we received as soon as we walked in the door. While inquiring about their storm doors we told George about what happened at Lowe's. He apologized for the way that we were treated at Lowe's, rather than gloating that we ended up at his store. Ironically, they had a storm door in stock left over from their purchase from the prior owners that was the exact door we were looking for. Without even knowing how much we were going to pay at Lowe's, George said he would match the price. When he told us his price, it was less than Lowe' anyway. George said he could deliver the door to us the next day - WITHOUT ANY DELIVERY CHARGE. (Lowe's would have charged $79.00) Without going in more detail, George has continued to provide old fashion customer service that unfortunately is frequently a thing of the past. The only time we will ever go to one of the big box stores is if Werner does not have, nor can they get what we need. I cannot express how refreshing it is to deal with a business that actually provides excellent customer service.
