This guy was a crook, screwed me out of 50# copper
He asked me why I drove on the scale? I was 7700
When I left I was 7440 and he gave me 157# of #1 copper and 70# #2 copper at 227# of scrap
My truck was 260 of scrap according to the scale
I would’ve gone to his competitor who are honest
Seller beware, I took number one copper into this place and they wanted to label it as copper sheet. I looked at the guy and said everyone else buys it as number one copper. He looked right back at me and said well go to everyone else so I did and they bought it at number one copper just like everybody does. This place is a cheat, I would not go to him ever again. Because he cheats.
Horrible customer service! Take your scrap metal elsewhere! Also does not stay open til 12pm on saturday like they say, called them and told them Id be there in 10 mins and shut the gate on me at 1145. Would not let me in or answer the phone!
Good people, I don't shop for better prices, they are easy to get to for me, usually no wait to hit the scale, but as with most scrap yards, avoid after a heavy rainfall..
We have been going here since they opened. The people there have always found a way to screw us. I take the time to separate everything, to get the most out of what we have. Most of the time though, they will put it down for something that has a lesser value.
I just went today and got ripped off a few hundred dollars. We spent 5 days separating all our metal, to get the most from it. We should have gotten over $800 and only got barely $400. They refused to weigh my prepared steel as that, instead they did unprepared. Same as with the more expensive metals, like copper brass, etc.... They are pocketing the extra money. They also just didnt want to work overtime because we actually went yesterday but they closed the doors for the metal that is weighed inside, forcing us to come a second day. I will never go here again, would rather drive further to a more reputable place. Dont go here, they are scam artists!
Copper on a average is 3.50 per pound and aluminum is 60 cent's average per pound and I had close to 20 pounds of copper which is about 65 dollars and I had about 50 pounds of aluminum which comes to 30 dollars. All together it comes to and I'll round it off to 90 dollars and they gave me 64 dollars that's a 26 dollar difference. I'm a little disappointed considering I busted my A**.
The old bait and switch,con game .my phone call quote was $ 2.20 a pound for yellow bullet brass shells.after stopping in I get a quote for $ 1.20 a pound.for some reason every time you go to jfr location on crow st , things are not what they should be.check your weight and your prices.do your self a favor go to scranton pa.cash in.
Great place to take your recycling and earn some cash. The employees are nice. If you've never been there, it may be a bit difficult to find if you don't use GPS or Google maps.
One guy is real helpful, one guy I'd like to hit.. Overall an easy place for me to drop scrap.. The one kid needs to realize that not everybody knows their metals and to not be snippy when someone makes a mistake
Wind gap facility is great, friendly people. Honest. Stay away from the East Stroudsburg one. Dishonest , crooked rat bags. The scale is way off and they will rob you.
They pay the most around good people that work there and they pay you cash going back on Monday to drop off more if you need to get reed of stuff like that go here I called around and they pay the most on every thing
