Great little country shop. Has hand made good quality furniture, hand made soaps. I live the ice cream and the milk. Theres a $2 per bottle of milk, so you're looking at $6 and change for a half gal.
Honestly, this was the only stop in the wilkes barre area that didn't disappoint. Ice cream was had, ice cream was delicious... my tiny son finished his not-so-kid-sized soft serve that was bigger than his face.
Everyone comes here for the ice cream obviously, but sticks around to walk about, visiting the little garden store or watching the baby ducks waddle in the river or realizing cows are so much bigger than you remember. And exploring the little market full of fresh milk, cheeses, jellies, honeys, and all the usual goodies.
I really like how this place doesn't try too hard to be touristy, or over complicate things. Just a casual place to visit, explore, and eat good ice cream.
Ice cream was great as always but we had to stand outside in winter at 14⁰ and wait for ice cream, even tho you can see counter from the inside. Doesn't make much sense for winter customers :/ employees in mercantile, ice cream, and dairy were great. Just a poor layout for winter season.
Always a great place to stop and stretch your legs, while letting the dog out to stretch their legs. It's also a great spot for some milk, ice cream, cheese, sodas or even craft items.
The restrooms are kept clean and both have Koalas so Mom or Dad is able to take the little on in with them.
If the weather is nice you are able to walk the grounds and see the various animals on the farm.
All of these amenities have made this a must stop for us no matter which direction we are heading.
We have been absolutely loving getting our milk here. It might look expensive at first, but there's a bottle deposit you get back when you return the glass bottles. The milk tastes better! We also love the selection in the store, there is ice cream, eggs, whole bean & ground coffee, lots of food, along with things like soap and other handcrafted items. It seems like they're mindful to source as locally as possible. Hillside has become an integral part of our grocery shopping. They're also usually very friendly at the register!
Took my 18 month old Grandson, he just loved seeing all the animals. Enjoy ice cream and the shopping. He came home with a toy piggy and he was so happy!!
What a gem of a place! We stopped by for ice cream and ended up spent awhile just soaking in the charm. I got the cookie dough and wow—it seriously tasted like they made the vanilla and cookie dough from scratch just for me. So fresh, so creamy, absolutely delicious.
The kids had a blast visiting the animals and exploring the grounds. We really appreciated the thoughtful benches to sit and enjoy our treats, covered areas for shade (or rain!), and a beautiful man-made stream that made the whole place feel peaceful and fun at the same time.
The little shops were full of unique finds. I especially loved a gorgeous birdbath I spotted. Friendly, welcoming service tied everything together. Yes, we had to wait in line, but it was well worth it. We’ll definitely be back!
I’ve been coming here since 2013 and I cannot recommend this place to all my friends and family enough. I try to still visit every few years because the milk and ice cream are worth it! Both of these photos are a few years apart and the ice cream is still as fantastic as ever.
The Lands at Hillside Farms is a place that everyone should visit. Located in Shavertown, PA., and just off of the expressway sits this home away from home. They have a variety of foods, fresh ice cream, and milk. There are antiques and small trails too. You can also sit under the beautiful covered pavilion and enjoy your ice cream and snacks. They also have Dubai Chocolate in the refrigerated cooler supplied by 3SnowFlakesBaking on @threads. If it wasn't for seeing her post I would have missed this great place. I also want to say the young girl at the dairy register was so kind and helpful. She was knowledgeable, and kind and even personally greeted the young children who were there for a visit. We will be back with a cooler of ice for more things we want to get.
The store was absolutely adorable. The chocolate milk is outstanding. I got a cow vase that I’m in love with for $30. Super cute stuff throughout. Candy, toys, baby stuff, clothes, decorations, etc. We accidentally broke something while in the store and the worker was SUPER polite about it, even though we offered to pay for the broken item, they declined.
the animals were all super sweet and well kept. Definitely worth stopping by to check out!
This was the cutest farm and store. We also had ice cream. We bought hone made soaps, candy, fudge, shirt and some Mothers Day stuff, and Easter basket fillers. Beautiful shop.
This was a great little place. While you're there, check out the little petting zoo in the back and across the street. There's a barn with more animals in it. It was even a cow nursery. We enjoyed our visit.
So beautifully unique that I cannot stop taking about and recommending this place after stumbling upon it. The ice cream is absolutely out of this world! Fresh, delicious, homemade, & generous portions at prices that feel more than fair. The peach flavor is to die for. After getting your ice cream and wondering around the country store, they have a barn with animals including donkeys, goats, rabbits, chickens, cows, pigs, etc and a plethora beautiful grounds to walk. This place is truly special and makes for a lovely way to spend an afternoon with friends and family or a sweet romantic ice cream date & a stroll. If you’re in the area, you shouldn’t miss the opportunity to stop by and experience it for yourself.
Loved it .... the animals , especially the donkeys, the shops , the pens, the layout , the authentic farm buildings , the atmosphere , the MILKSHAKE !! especially strawberry .... basically all of it . ..... visited AGAIN in 2024 and as good as ever . The ice cream selection is amazing and all of the animals so well cared for . Will be back for sure

We enjoyed a day at the farm. The scenery was beautiful and the ice cream (not pictured) was the cherry on top.

I’ve been going to Hillside Farms since I was a little kid - the black raspberry ice cream is still my favorite after all this time. I loved the updates to the location because it still has the original “hillside” vibes to it even with renovations. (I hadn’t been back in over fifteen years so it looked quite different - it was still a blast from the past to experience the farm again) I’m grateful I was able to show my husband this important part of my childhood! ????
I’ve been going to Hillside Farms since I was a little kid. The. Black. Raspberry. Ice cream. ??????I was able to bring my husband home with me to visit in the summer for the first time. We couldn’t miss stopping here - almost wept like a child to be honest. Bought a giant jug of ice cream and sat in the sun just having a day. Absolute perfection.
Great place! Best ice cream & animals are well taken care of. Beautiful gift shop. But during rush hours I find long lines (ok great!) But the window will be shut with a sign while employees are on break. We waited almost 25+ minutes in the hot heat. Regardless, good enough to still return!

Great ice cream and a nice stroll around the property to look at all the animals. Kids love this. They get to walk through an old barn, see a bunch of animals and go play in the creek out back if they want. Inside the shop they sell all their own milk which some people will drink nothing else and a big shop of decorative do-
dads if you’re into that sort of think. Great summer stop to let the kids have some fun for a few hours and gorge on ice cream.
This is one of my favorite places to take the kids. You can see all the barnyard animals up close and for free. It's clean. The ice cream inside the store is DELICIOUS. There are a lot of nice decor items and other gift items inside the store as well.

So my family and I were in the neighborhood near Hillside Farms and we decided to stop in and see the animals and get some ice cream.
They are more than just a farm with animals to see. Soo much more. The staff is very friendly and attentive to what you're needs are.
They make some of the best chocolate and strawberry milk that I've ever tasted, and I think you would enjoy it as well. They also offer white milk. These are for sale in 1/2 gallon jars.
Additionally, they have Orange juice and some amazingly tasty fresh tea, also in 1/2gallon jars. The tea alone, makes me want to go back over and over. They have freshmade butter, which I will be purchasing when I return my bottles and pick up some more milk.

They have additional snacking items as well. I know they offer various flavors of popcorn and kettle corn along with some candies and other items that I know are slipping my mind at the moment.
Also in the back, they have a nice size country store. So many different items for sale. They go from house signs, to scented candles, to toys for kids and so much more.
Now let's get (what I believe) to why most people visit here.....
THE ICE CREAM !!
They offer so many amazing flavors and options. Hard, soft, cone, cup, sundaes & shakes and more!!
Also (when available) they have fresh made apple dumplings! Always a family favorite here.
They also have a large greenhouse that they have garden supplies in....gnomes and statues and things of that nature, also for sale.

It was by chance we ended up here after our hike. Glad we stopped. The ice cream is one of the best I've have eaten so far.They were rich ,fresh and creamy. We tried their chocolate almond, vanilla, cherry and mocha toffee crunch. They have a beautiful lots with tables and small trails surrounding them. Picked up milk from their farm.
We always enjoy our visits here, no matter the time of year! The ice cream is delicious and they have such an amazing variety! My toddler enjoys spending time with the animals, my sons love playing by the creek and I love getting goodies from the shop and greenhouse!
What a gem! My family stumbled upon this place in search of ice cream while passing by and we couldn’t have been more impressed.
Ice cream was amazing and the property was so much fun to explore with a young one.

This establishment is beyond worth your time. There are gardens and greenhouses to wander through, animals to feed/pet and a whole beautiful property to explore. Their stores have very unique and high quality goods and food. Their dairy items are delicious. There's a whole rich history and culture behind it. If you have 3-4 hours to burn with kids I couldn't recommend this place any more. Make sure you see their peacock!
