What clients say about Copart - Pittsburgh North in Ellwood City (PA)

My client purchased a vehicle from their Copart, and I handled the transport to the residence. The Copart team was smooth, cooperative, and dealt with my driver very professionally. I’d be glad to work with them again for any future transportation needs.??

Entrance gate & lock freezes up pretty easily & makes it difficult to pull in. Other then that everything seems to run pretty smooth

100/10 don’t recommend. Seriously don’t do it! Go on marketplace and find a deal. The fees are outrageous, they are crumby and deceitful. One car arrived with 10k more miles than advertised. Another car marked as runs and drives arrived with the engine knocking. By the time you spend money on fees and fixing the car you could have had a clean tile car for close to the same price or a tiny bit more.

Bought vehicles from here on a couple occasions. Bid online is easy to use.

This was my second vehicle from Copart but first time picking up from Pittsburgh North. I just want to say I appreciate that they took the time to put plastic wrap over the open windows of the car, so it did not get soaked inside by rain. They even laid plastic down before putting all the extra dirty parts in the back seat. It made a difference, and I will definitely buy from this location again.

Car listed as run and drive, a very mild hit low mile 2018 crosstrek, clutch and brake pedals on the floor, clutch fork broken off at top of trans so assuming worse issues inside, impossible to see in pictures or on site before bidding without taking things apart. It starts, but run and drive was a flat out lie. Never had a problem with the location, but whoever is saying R for run n drive, is lying, and other reviews seem to mirror my experience. If a transmission/clutch is exploded and impossible for the car to move an inch, then dont lie, just list it as engine start program. Seriously wondering if this was on a hook and the whole drivetrain is destroyed. Thanks for the headache and thousands in expenses over stated condition.

SCAM ARTISTS! DONT GIVE THEM BUISNESS...they posted a 2009 Camry for sale under 'Minor Damage' category, being scratches and Dents. I bought the car for 2700$. The car showed up with a blown engine and flooded(rust and mold inside the cabin) and once I contacted Terri Dambra she kept trying to slither her way out of the situation by telling me the cars 'Drive' Status was "Non Driver", even though the drive status was "Front Wheel Drive". Then, when I pointed that out, she went on to say the car was under 'Enhanced vehicles' which meant the engine was blown. Which is a blatant lie, 'Enhanced Vehicle' means the vehicle could have been washed in order to bring the value up. Then, the scam artist went on to block me through email and lock my copart account. Now, I can't even put the car in my name because they refuse to provide me with the original Power of Attorney form for one of the people that "signed" the title. Now I have a car with a blown engine that I can't even put in my name. After calling them everyday for 2 weeks trying to get the POA and being told "Give me a few minutes and I'll call you right back" by literally every person I talked to, one of the workers finally had it with me calling and yelled on the phone "We DO NOT have the Original POA, nor have we ever had it or any Original POA EVER! So if you want your original POA, you're going to have to go to corporate!"

Very unhelpful staff as far as working with transporters. They tell me on the phone that I can load up to 5 PM as long as it is within my 1 hour loadout timeframe. Upon arrival to the yard at 4:34, the staff says that no they can't loaf after 4:30PM because they lock up the yard at 4:30. Clearly not the case, as they are loading other vehicles.

Save yourself aggravation, DO NOT BUY HERE!!! Go to south or west instead... Management is horrible, overcharges for whatever they can. They even chage 15 for vest. There 10 everywhere else, don't even follow corporate procedures!!! Run don't walk!!!

General Manager is ON it ! This facility is consistently professional and efficient. EVERY different aspect of this operation is on point. One of the top 5 on the East Coast. Copart Pittsburgh North is exemplary. If only the people there could be cloned and sent to other Coparts!

Insurance company had my truck towed to Copart to be evaluated after a wreck in January. Spoke to them numerous times over the 3 weeks they have had it in regards to all my personal items that remained in the truck after my accident. Was assured my personal items and valuables were being kept in the truck and would remain safe until I was able to come get them. Arrived today to get my stuff and was immediately shocked to see everything I owned in the bed of the truck. Completely soaked and destroyed. Besides the fact it had been left in the elements they decided to cut the straps to my sons car seat, someone took it upon themselves to rip a custom made autism shirt in honor of my son clear in half. Brand new heat gun I borrowed from a buddy is destroyed, an antique sharpening kit left to me by me deceased Father is rusted and pretty much destroyed. My prescription Ray Bans have vanished, social security card destroyed, bunch of my sons toys ruined. The lady at the front desk was very nice and blown away because she said she has never seen personal items discarded in the bed or left out to be ruined, but said there was nothing they could do. Really blows my mind considering I've spoken to them numerous times a week regarding my stuff and was assured it was all still in the truck and would remain there untill I could make it down.

We arrived at 8:00 AM for our 8:15 AM appointment, was told 45 minutes later, they would not load the 1 ton. We ended up having to get a wrecker. While waiting for said wrecker. We watched them move a long bed duly 1 ton, and yet they couldn't load our?? AND after 3.5 hrs, we are loaded, walked in the office, asked if I could use the restroom, the hateful lady said, use the pot-a-potty.

Update I just picked up my second purchase on 6/17/22 My appointment was for 11am. I arrived at 10:50 and was loaded at 10:55. Be sure to check in as soon as you pull into the parking lot as mine was marked picked up before I could do it. Not an issue but it allows them to have your paperwork ready. I left loaded at 11:05. The folks I delt with for preview were also really laid back and cool. The guy took me out and explained the locations making finding the cars really easy. Be sure to preview! I looked at three cars for me only one was worth bidding on. The only way to tell their true condition is to see for yourself. Fantastic experience. Staff was friendly when I went to preview. It was my first time there and the guys explained the yard layout . I won the auction the following week. My pick up appointment was at 2. At 2:02 I was loaded. This was a pleasant surprise as the pick up lot was packed. A cool Copart location for sure.

Terrible place! 90% of the staff are not helpful and very nasty when asked questions. Also be very careful they are not listing or describing vehicle’s accurately. And if you complain they hide under there “no guarantee policy” But as a customer you go prepared based on the information that is provided but they are lairs. Yes this is a yard and vehicles aren’t expected to be driven out but at the very least give customers accurate information about the vehicle.

The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They have you in and out in no time at all. They are so willing to help. I bought a car and paid for delivery. I was told it could take upto 10 days for it to come. They had it to me in 2 days. Great place and staff. I am very pleased with them.

Losing my car was devastating. I couldn't get any help from The General and I was unsure of what to do. I took the 45 minute drive up there and prayed I would be able to get my stuff out of my car. The lady that helped me was so kind, helpful and she was empathetic. Very nice to have when you're having a hard time with the loss of a beautiful vehicle. I cannot say enough of how grateful I am to have had the much needed help and of the care I received. Thank you.

This is a clean place, waited only 20 mins for the car to come out. But all Coparts should have a bathroom that we can use after driving 6 hrs would of been nice. When we asked could we use the bathroom in the building the person said no, so i asked well then where can i go and she said go outside and pee. Other coparts have a spot of pots outside and some of the copart locations are far out and not near a public bathroom that we could get to. So think of others, the drivers and the customers that make Copart what it is. Thanks

My husband and I bought a car from here. Upon picking up the car we read through the instructions that were sent to us. In said instructions, they stated if you paid in cash you will receive a 40 dollar discount. We got the cash and made the 6 hour drive to pick up the car. We were both very disappointed. I have never received such poor customer service in my life. The office lady (username: SLRAZANI) was very rude. Her rude remarks during our entire conversation were very unnecessary and quite frankly disgusting. Also, we were told we could not pay in cash, and that we would not receive a discount. We actually had to pay more money because we now had to pay with a card. I will never come here again. ??

My vehicle was rear ended in a accident. My insurance company towed it to coparts facility to be inspected. All my personal belonging were stolen out of the vehicle. Very unprofessional and criminal business.

Bought a wrecked car from Copart. First time buyer and couldn't be more pleased. From the folks at the desk, to the accuracy of the description of the vehicle, to the handling of loading the car on my trailer. A+ in all aspects!

The lady that waited on us was very friendly, they were super busy but even so they were very quick to get people waited on. Getting the car tied down after it was sat on the trailor was extreamly cold but nobody can help that lol

I won a bid on a vehicle that was said to have no damage, a good PA title, and was advertised as having @118 K miles. I didn't really pay attention to the fact that the word "exempt" was written in parentheses next to the mileage , and I didn't really think much of it. Maybe that is on me, but please read on. I went and got my certified funds, paid for the vehicle, and when they brought the title out for me to sign, the odometer statement on the title did not reflect any mileage at all. Only the word "exempt" was written in. I saw this and it was an immediate red flag, so I refused to sign the title without an explanation, particularly since it was advertised as having 118k miles. I learned that this status of mileage on a title means there is no requirement for odometer mileage disclosure to be listed on the vehicle title. So while the vehicle could have actual miles, it essentially means that nobody really knows what the actual miles are, and there is no requirement to disclose mileage. The PA DMV said that it was probably a paperwork trail error and so it ended up having an exempt status assigned to mileage. As such, the odometer status cannot be changed once "exempt" is assigned. So technically, no one will ever know what the actual mileage is on the vehicle, and as such, it is a huge detriment to vehicle value. I was in the car business for 20 years and never heard of this. Completely unaware of this odometer status, I was very upset because the vehicle was clearly advertised as having 118k miles and I felt completely deceived because if there is no mileage requirement to be disclosed, then there should not be any mileage written on the auction listing either. I refused to accept the title and indicated I wanted my money back after learning of this exempt odometer status, and primarily because the vehicle was advertised as having 118k miles. The manager said that they always put the mileage down on the listing because customers won't buy the vehicle if they don't know what the miles are. She also said they didn't do anything wrong and refused to issue a refund. Her justification was that it's only the title that doesn't have to have mileage written down, but the listing could have mileage written down, and all they did was list what the odometer said. Now I have to talk to an attorney about it and it's just turned into a big nightmare because I don't have time to fight something like this over $1,300, but the vehicle is basically worthless with the odometer status being exempt so I'm kind of stuck with it unless I decide to fight it, and if I fight it, I might lose anyway. On top of this, I think Copart's fees are absurdly high. My winning bid was $875 on a 13 year old vehicle and fees from Copart we're just short of $400. The fees are disclosed, so it's not like it's anybody's fault but my own for buying something there, but it's not really that obvious that you're paying two extra fees on top of a buyer's fee. Those two extra fees amount to an extra hundred dollars between a bidders fee and a gate fee but as a non business, they charge the highest amount of fees to individuals. In hindsight, I think it's a huge rip off and unless you are a salvage business, or an auto dealer that rebuilds cars, I would avoid this place like the plague.

My car was towed here for my insurance company to inspect it because it caught on fire not because it was a total loss. My whole car was ransacked and all my belongings that nobody wanted to steal were thrown in the back of my car. I had car seat organizers strapped to 3 of my seats and some had cleaning products in them and they were ripped off my seats and the cleaners spilled in my car. My daughter's carseat was anchored down in the car and copart stole it from my car. When I called and asked where my carseat was the lady that I talked to told me I shouldn't use my carseat after it's been in an accident but my cat wasnt in an accident. State farm is refusing to pay for it unless I file another claim and pay a $100 deductible for a $169 carseat. The plastic under the front of my car was ripped off from their tow truck that transported my car. I wouldn't even give this place 1 star but I had to if I wanted to leave a review.

There's no signs nothing what so ever that tells me that I can't have a car pulled out after 4:30! Very disappointed drove 5 hours to pick this car up! Copart? Never again stick to IAAI everyone!
