Lanchester Landfill is fantastic! Easy to weigh in and out, making the process smooth and hassle-free. You can back up right next to the bins, so unloading is quick and effortless. Is a great place im IF you're actually allowed to go. Apparently Lancaster country residents are no longer allowed....I live 3 min from the dump....now I need to drive the 45min to the other side of Lancaster or out to Mount Joy ....bs
Went to Landfill to get rid of Metal(which is free of course cause they are making money off it) then had other materials to get rid of and went over scale to get weighted and was asked what county I'm from i said Lancaster and person proceeds to tell me they don't except Lancaster county residents!
So I looked up where exactly LANCHESTER LANDFILL is located which is in Narvon pa
which is in LANCASTER county.
Like that is the STUPIDIST thing I've heard in a while.
We had a light snow today and instead of posting a single thing about closing early, I drove 45 minutes to a closed facility. No mention of it when I called numerous times on thier answering service, not a word on the website, nor in "updates". A customer service dystopia. Usually had no problem but customers should be able to access an update to random full closings due to flurries. The website currently says open. Do better. Putting the "Waste" in waste of time thanks.
Very thankful to have the ability to drop-off our recycling at our local landfill. And loved the open house today. Learned so much about how the landfill works and how they take the time to make positive impacts for our county.
Nice place to go and dump regular trash and they have a section for recycling. Prices are not too bad at $90 per ton for the homeowner. They have a place to back up to and just throw trash into a big dumpster near the entrance. Make sure that you haul trash there in an enclosed container or have a tarp over anything in an open bed or they will charge you extra.
The cleanest and most organized landfill I have ever been to. On top of that every associate that works there is friendly and helpful. Pride in job and company are evident!

What can I say, it's the dump. Appears to be well kept up. My only complaint would be the signage directs you to different numbered Lanes for different things but the lanes themselves are not numbered.
I have been coming here with a roll off truck since 2005. Every time I come in I never had a bad experience. If anything, over the years the facility has made more improvements, has a well thought out disposal area for just about anything you may need to get rid of. Very homeowner friendly, the people here are first class and are always willing to help if you have any questions or if you are not sure where to go to dump. Mike in the scale, as busy as he gets, is a good dude. The machine and bulldozer guys up on the dump face, great professionals to work with. Facility is SPOTLESS, they take pride in serving the community and their customers. And what a view from up top, wow! Thank you for all the years of top notch help and service!
Great place to dispose of contractor materials. Easy in to weigh station, easy to off load and easy exit. Place is spotless.....seems to have a lot of pride in the appearance. Very fair prices.
They made the experience easy and reasonably afordable they would have gotten 5 starts but the man working on the scale gave us a very hard time and was rude and belittled us because even though we got there at 415 (15 min. Before they closed) we only got to the scale at 432 because of the line of cars. He acted as though it was soooo difficult for him to weigh and charge us. It's a good landfill but if that's how they treat customers I'll take my business elsewhere.
Looking to get rid of some junk laying around the property? You will find this facility has professional staff, convenient drop off area, and reasonable pricing. Just be sure your load is covered with a tarp upon arrival at the scale house, if it is not covered you will likely be charged an additional $17 for a pickup load.
They also have a great program for items that can be recycled!
Question, not a review. Hi, I live in the Boro of West Chester. My neighbor has chunks of concrete behind his brick rowhouse. I just cleaned up my same space with beautiful plants, an arbor - you get the idea. Here is my question - can he/she bring those lovely chucks to the landfill? If he/she can, what would it cost? I am thinking that when he chopped up his driveway to put down flat stones that he didn't know where to put the chunks. So I would like to help him find a place for the chunks so my nice side wouldn't have to see his nasty side. Thanks.
Very clean and organized. Free recycling for paper, plastic, cardboard. Fee for electronics. There is also an overlook open on Sundays during the summer. Great view of Lancaster & Chester counties.
Only recycling place I've ever dealt with that actually doesn't care about pollution, will force 3 neighbors to drive up separately to dispose of e-waste instead of allowing one person to drive up, regardless if you give them addresses, phone numbers..etc...
Way to follow to the letter of your "rules" but not actually care about the environment.
Then tell me I can drive to philly, why bother having recycling there at all?
There was a woman that was maintaining the drop off area. She was friendly and brought over a cart and took a small refridgerator for us. She was very helpful.
