I Regret to report that Anthracite salvage yard is now closed. We visited the yard today ( 9/30/2024) and were greeted by a sign saying that the yard was closed for good. Their website doesn't indicate that the yard has ceased operations. So I suggest that you call before going in order to save yourself the trip. It's sad that so many auto salvage yards are closing up.

They were always ridiculously priced n never had a huge inventory of vehicles, but they closed the junkyard at the beginning of the year. Thats fine n all but how about u update ur ads instead of costing someone thats strapped for cash time n money traveling to find out ure closed.
I visited their U-pull a few weekends ago and was rather disappointed by the way the yard is taken care of. There are a number of cats in the yard and you must watch where you step as there is fecal matter scattered throughout the ground. This also poses a serious health hazard given the diseases it carries. I don't mind junkyard dirty and oil/coolant but this is verging on biohazard.
The yard has been overgrown by many, many weeds and smalls trees since I was there last. It makes it difficult to get some parts off the cars and I decided it was not worth the effort. When I visited five years ago things were much more trimmed back.
Lastly, because of the wet cat food containers which they throw into all the scrap cars you have to contend with insects and the smell of spoiled cat food.
With a bit of maintenance and some change in policy they could have a great little yard but as it is right now, I would pass and go to D's. This one isn't worth the time.
I have always went to this pick apart yard . the staff is friendly and very helpful . the prices are cheap and they have a good selection of older cars from 90 to mid 2000s . other yards are crushing these cars so theres very slim opportunity to find what u need . good luck everyone hope u find what u need .
Anthracite used auto parts always the first place I go to when looking for used parts the prices are the most reasonable in the area and always a wide selection thank God for places like this and the employees are always knowledgeable and polite
The cantankerous, most disrespectful, and ignorant woman that manages or owns the junkyard refused to allow people to enter the business due to wanting to go home EARLY!! Which I'd completely feel the same way, although you have a JOB to do. Very lazy and useless staff. Would never recommend and suggest that the Better Business Borough investigate its operations. By far the most unprofessional, sloppy, and unorganized so called "business".
This place is a joke with very little of a selection. Worthless trip, trust me please.
Very friendly staff with a huge selection of import and domestic. My son needed a valve cover bolt and they just gave it to him. Will definitely be back for parts if needed.
They are paying very low prices for scrap metals, very far below the average for the area, 2.00 /lb for #2 copper (.12 cents below the lowest), copper wire scrap .50 cents /lb (.20 cents below average).
Good place to pic a part low prices inventory could be slightly better but overall I have always found what I needed ..and the yard ppl have always been a big help thankx guys and gal
To Mac McPherson’s I am the lady you were talking to and I wasn’t saying bye to you. I was talking to a customer that was leaving. You actually hug up on me. So who’s the rude one now?
Called looking for an item for a 2012 Ford, lady told me she "doubts" she has one, tried explaining it was the same model as an 11 through 15. She cut me off midway through with a "bye". Extremely rude, not at all helpful. I'll make sure never to call there again and make sure if anybody asks me for a recommendation for used parts this place will not be on my list. Piss poor customer service
I have visited many auto parts recycling facilities and "U-pull it" yards . This one ..... the absolute worst . Textbook definition of "junkyard". This place is NASTY ! Huge puddles of putrid water snd sludge everywhere . A majority of potential parts sources are sitting deep in mud . Very few safe paths to walk on , just about all strewn with debris making safe passage a challenge . If you enter clean ..... don't expect to leave that way . Most of their inventory are heavily damaged wrecks offering little salvageable parts . And what might be useful is for the most part inaccessible . Find a regular organized u pull it recycler yard .
Very nice people. I love walking through the junkyard amongst all those vehicles each with their own story & then your eyes light up when u find that special piece your looking for because you know you'll get it for a good price. Only down side is hoping the piece you want is there and in decent condition. If you dont have the tools or know how, they will pull it for you if you ask, for a little price i believe. I'm not sure how that works though because i like to diy.
For the U-Pull-It yard, it's pretty small. They took out the bottom section down the hill. Cars are pretty mangled up here, but the selection is decent. Prices are very reasonable and the staff's very friendly.
