It was quite interesting. My first time ever visiting the college was giving my niece a ride back

As an HBCU alum, one of the things I valued most about my experience was the sense of safety, support, and community. Even though I was far from my parents, I felt protected and surrounded by professors and staff who genuinely wanted every student to succeed. Because of that experience, I believed my child would receive the same at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, “the first HBCU.” Unfortunately, that has not been the case. My concerns are as follows: 1. A lack of accountability for student behavior. There is no reason a student involved in multiple physical altercations should remain on campus without serious consequences. Allowing this kind of behavior creates an unsafe environment and sets a troubling precedent. 2. Unprofessional and disrespectful conduct from staff. Families and students deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism at all times. 3. Misinformation provided to students who may have been victims of incidents on campus. Students should be clearly informed that filing a report with campus police is not the same as pressing charges through local law enforcement, so they can make fully informed decisions about their rights and options. 4. A need for better understanding and adherence to Title IX policies. This is a serious matter, and I hope the university takes steps to ensure compliance before formal action becomes necessary. Cheyney has an opportunity to rebuild and strengthen its reputation, but that starts with accountability and leadership. Real change requires addressing these concerns directly and ensuring that those in positions of power are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all students.

This place has been on life support for years - time to pull the plug and either let it die or turn it into a museum. It's poor use of resources for less than 900 students (and less in past years).

Horrible experience how I was treated by the staff. I was removed & kicked out threaten with the police for being a black man on campus. Very sad

I love Cheyney made a lot of history at this school. This is the most unorganized university ever. Never been to a school where they try to gate keep historical celebration such as may weekend. It's all about the experience and repeatedly take it away by just the dumb shit.

Wish I could give none!!! I’m so disappointed in what my former HBCU has come to. As a parent I’m so upset. Allowing kids who’ve made gun threats to stay enrolled and live on campus. Constant changes in tuition payments. The intimidation from the faculty to the students. And the fact that no one ever answers the phones is ridiculous. I can keep going about how you guys try not to acknowledge accommodation letters from doctors for the students but I’m not even going to get into that.

I love my HBCU..I was voted "Miss Freshman 2017-2018" and I had so much fun . I am sadly transferring, because they are taking away the sports programs and I was on a track scholarship, but my experience at Cheyney was unforgettable. Its a family atmosphere to say the least, everyone knows each other on campus which makes it comfortable even for freshman.

I love Cheyney University of Pennsylvania. I am honored to say that I will be graduating from Cheyney University in May, 2018. An unmatched college experience at a University that has been established to educate African Americans. I encourage all high school senior to apply to Cheyney University. Come visit the University and walk our historical campus and eat from Ada George’s dinning Hall. Better yet, if you do not feel like siting grab a “BRB” from our famous snack bar!

Despite the issues at the university, Cheyney has created a reflective and visionary leader in myself. I would not have went to any other HBCU, or any other PASHEE school. Cheyney taught me that it was safe to be black in modern day America. Being that I transferred in to CU, I know that the issues Cheyney faces, every other school faces. I love my HBCU.

Cheyney was ranked THE WORST SCHOOL in Pennsylvania for a reason. The average student has a 2.6 GPA & 900 SAT. 45% of freshman leave, and 75% of students don't graduate. This terrible school will be closed soon enough!

If every a state funded university I would send my Child, Cheyney University would be it! Beautiful Campus with updated buildings. Just wish others knew of this hidden treasure in tinicum township. Beautiful small HBCU.. Support them and keep their enrollment thriving!!! Trust me you will not be disappointed!

If I could rate lower I would. I transferred into this school and I will be out after this year. I have had 4 friends leave before the school year was over because of how unprofessional this school is. No one does their job. The teachers are excellent but as far as the other staff goes, no one has a purpose to be their. I feel that most of the other staff never went to school and getting a job at Cheyney was a last resort. They do not like to answer the phones to solve problems, they play around with peoples money, the dorms are very dated and they don't even have enough students to fill them. This school should be shut down, it is a school for rejects and people who aren't serious about school. It is a waste of time for those who are serious. The athletics department has different people quitting their jobs everyday and currently has no one in charge. Coaches are leaving because they receive no support from the school. My list could go on but I just hope no one else falls for the trick that I did.

i am in my first semester and i already hate this place. so unprofessional and the faculty members are rude af. if you're not one of their favorite, you're on your own. the food on campus is really bad and don't even get me started about the internet here. most of the student are also rude especially football players and track runners. if you're thinking about coming to cheyney, DON'T! no seriously DON'T!

The students were very disrespectful towards light skin visitors.Puerto ricans, mexicans,Italians etc. It was just wrong. Seems like a great school when looking around to see what they have but they act like they are way better then anyone and just completely disrespectful towards people who was light skin then them I dont know why they acted like that. Not saying all but half of them was acting like that.
