Awesome experience! I had a driver breakdown near Harrisburg. The tensioner pulley failed and took out the belt and the truck was overheating. I called at 7am and Shane answered. He was very polite and helpful. They drove to Lebanon to pick up the tensioner and then back to Harrisburg to get the belt and replace the parts. They had the driver rolling again as quickly as they could and their prices were (in my experience) VERY reasonable.
I can't say enough about River Drives wrecker service. From the prompt front desk to the service manager Shane to the technician Jimmy. All 5 stars. They got out me of jam to say the least! And on top of all this they are the best price around!
I’ve been going there for a few years now. I’ve always been pleased with their work and communication. The last time I was there I was charged $140 for an oil change on my Civic. Needless to say I won’t be going there for oil changes anymore.
EDIT: My total was $139.96. I was recently quoted $85 for a full synthetic oil change at a different reputable shop in the area.
Got a tow there and ended up needing a new clutch. Down to earth decent people. Price might be a little higher than you expect, but there’s no complaints on the work done. Would definitely bring my truck back again.

I was on my way down to Harrisburg for the Pennsylvania farm Show from Erie when when I hit a pothole and my truck was pulling hard to the left. So I called to see if they could get me in and they were able to the next day. Show I took my 2016 chevy 2500 diesel there when they open. I was there until almost noon.
They charged me $400 for a alignment and rotate my tires And the problem still was not fixed. I tried to get the paperwork for the alignment to see if everything was in spec but they were unable to provide me with that. I would not recommend them they charge you for A problem that they can't fix. I ended up driving all the way back to erie with my truck pulling hard to the left.
I ran into trouble on a dark and rainy night this week. Car was in bad shape. I looked for a good place to pull over and the light from River Drive Service Center was the first place I saw. I parked the car there and called them on the phone, hoping to leave a message so I could leave my key. They answered the phone at 9pm! And got to work on my car the next morning. Car was repaired in a timely manner at a reasonable price. Can't thank them enough for rescuing me!
They will do anything they can to take advantage of you. Stay away from these crooks. There is no sense of compassion or community in your language and in this economy you'd rather commit highway robbery and make a bad situation impossible to rectify. What you did to me will follow you and i hope that you get what you deserve the day you ask forgiveness. I hope that you're proud of yourselves and the trouble you cause.
We broke a serpentine belt traveling on the 22 in Harrisburg and was able to drive our motorhome to their service center....they got us back on the road in a matter of hours. Honest, knowledgeable and fair.
Read the reviews!!! A quick scroll through the review section and you will see these guys have gouged and scammed people on prices for years on many occasions! They screwed me on checking over my trailer, they charged $300 just to look at it and do an estimate, they didn’t even repair anything then tried to tell me this is the lowest price in the area. I went to a trailer center in Mechanicsburg and they did the same diagnostics and estimate for free in less than 30 minutes.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU RIVER DRIVE SERVICE!!!!! Had an issue with our 40ft Class A diesel pusher RV as we were venturing from Florida to Vermont. Involved getting a tough to find part. (……A valve to regulate air between the air bag and the leveling system.) First highly rated truck repair facility contacted in Greensboro correctly diagnosed our problem (but …. They were sent the wrong part, and gave up on getting the correct one- and just put our old bad part back in and sent us on our way!) In a few days, further down the road, I was able to get the correct part delivered to me from Spartan, and was very fortunate to discover River Drive Repair in Harrisburg, just off interstate 81 (which was along the route we were taking to Vermont) which agreed to take my RV in without having an appointment. They couldn't promise anything except that they would do there best to squeeze me in that same day. In all honesty, over 4 decades of RVing with 4 different RV’s the service we received from Greg and his stellar friendly team exceeded any prior repair experience. This shop had some exceptionally impressive advanced hydraulic jacks which I had never seen elsewhere. We were in an out within a few hours, and the price was very reasonable. I sincerely wish they were close to our homebase. River Drive Service is THE BEST!
got a low tire reading while travelling from state collage to phila...pulled off the interstate and there they were... drove in and Katrina said they would repair the flat ASAP... she phoned me like an hour later to say it was all done and I was ready to go...I could not have asked for a better outcome... they did an awesome repair and I was able to make it home safely on the turnpike.. Shout out to Issac for the repair and Katrina for having my back...
I was helping a guy on side of road with flat tire called River drive 430 pm almost closing time and they got the guy in got him his trailer tired and mounted . Kudos to these guy I was just being good Samaritan . These guys were having great customer service !
Greg and his team took great care of us. Our family was on a vacation to Hershey Park in our new (used) RV when we found we had a bad tire. Greg got us in the next day, our tire changer was a super woman who changed the tire quickly and efficiently; with us still in the RV-our kids kept playing their games in their beds! What service! We drove home feeling safer knowing we had expert care,
Great place with great employees. We broke down on 322 west with no power. When we pulled off the road as far as possible the edge of the vehicle was on the white line. Vehicles buzzing by at 65 plus mph within inches of our vehicle.
We called River Drive Service Center they came quickly and towed us to their shop. Found a broken wire to the starter and fixed it and had us back on the road in no time. Highly recommend.
My truck broke down on the middle of the highway, when I google the nearest shop, river drive popped up. I said let me give it a try. Loaded I headed there, when I explained how’s the truck been working. They checked it out told me what was the problem and orders parts overnight to get it fixed ASAP so I can go do my delivery. Got a ride to the nearest hotel for that night. Bref… all that is to say that they did an excellent job. And Mr Jhon you is a nice and good guy.
We just had River Drive do a repair on our line truck at our business, and their fast service was unbelievable! They knew that we needed the truck repaired that day and instead of having it towed, two technicians came out and did a complicated repair the same day. It was obvious that they were highly skilled mechanics. They were pleasant and great to work with. They are definitely a 5 star business and we will use them again!
We were traveling with our fifth wheel on 8/1 through Pennsylvania on our way to Ohio when my GMC Denali suddenly shut down. We were able to get off the highway and called roadside assistance. Shane and unfortunately another tow operator I didn't catch his name came and hooked us up and took my truck about a half hour away to their shop and our camper and us to a nice campground not far away. Shane made sure we were settled at the campground before leaving. Back to the truck, I had a third party extended warranty which I know can be a pain to deal with but Greg took over and despite me hounding them daily initially, called and got the diagnosis sent in and ultimately approved a claim. During the repair process, John became our daily contact and was awesome to talk to keeping us informed of parts etc. Condensing the story, GMC it appears has a track record of faulty high pressure fuel pump issues. It involves a HUGE job to disassemble and repair the injection pump, rails, injectors and alot I don't truly understand. In the end, this repair was just shy of a five figure repair. Costs were broken down and reasonable and their communication with us outstanding. Steve the mechanic takes with the repair cane over and discussed the truck and was pleasant to talk to. Something you don't get at every shop. So to Shane and his other operator (apologize for not getting a name), Greg, John and Steve and anyone else involved, thank you for helping us out. I highly highly recommend using this shop if you are in need of work. I have their card and as we continue to travel if we ever need help, and it's within their range, we will call everytime
I feel like these guys have always bent over backwards to help me out. Inthe last two and a half months they have squeezed my vehicle in on three separate occasions when time was is the essence. In addition to helping with my vehicle I've always been greeted by a nice friendly staff.
First of all, I got towed for a tractor and empty trailer in 2 sections in order to get charged 2 times when I should of towed once and also refused to being me to the shop I requested. Second I was the one that knew what part needed to get changed yet the shop still kept my truck 5 days looking for other things wrong with it and finally agreed with me that I was correct about what needed to get changed and this whole thing cost me $1784 .I had to tow my truck bobtail back to Chicago, and had to return for the trailer only to find out that I will get charged another $225 that I wasn’t communicated for the trailer being kept there. Not only did I not have a truck to make money but had payments on it and got ripped off with paying for things extra. Now I’m struggling to get out of debt. ( one guy working there was very very helpful and I appreciate very much for helping me hook up the tractor to have it towed back home ) not al people are bad just the person in charge of ripping people off.!!!!!
John the service writer was a very cool guy and easy to work with. The A/C guy explained and showed me what was wrong with my A/C unit and they weren't trying rip us off. Very fair price.
Phenomenal emergency service for my truck when we broke down towing our 40' travel trailer on vacation. They got us taken care of with minimal issue and even gave us a lift to the hotel. We dealt with four different people and they were all professional and polite. I highly recommend this shop for all your vehicle maintenance. They were genuinely amazing to deal with.
I’d rate them lower than "poor - fair" if I could. I brought my car to this shop because of a positive review on another site that I mistakenly thought was real.
1st they forgot to look at my car when they said they would, then acted like they were doing me a favor to give me an estimate on the repair I requested.
2nd when they called the next day, they gave me a high estimate $543.62 to replace power steering hose (289 parts 254 labor). I said thanks but no thanks, it’s an old beat-up car and I’m not looking to sink that much money into it. 1996 Isuzu Trooper - I’ll drive it, sell it, junk it - the vehicle is not worth much. To be fair, I offered to pay for their diagnostic time. Although when I dropped it off, I told them what I thought was wrong.
Greg called me back a few minutes later to tell me they had 2 hours into it but he would “do me a favor” and only charge me for 1. I asked him what the H#!! would take them 2 hours to diagnose a leaky power steering hose that I told them about up front? He said only 10 minutes was spent on the car, the other time was spent on the phone and internet researching the parts.
I got off the phone googled the parts and within 4 minutes found them for $53.61 including shipping.
I don’t mind paying service providers a fair amount for their time and talents, but this is ridiculous.
I’ll never take my car here again. It’s places like this that give the industry a bad reputation.
This shop is awesome. My starter went out on my car & I called them to get towed. A guy came within 15 mins, loaded up my car & said they could have it repaired by the end of the day. When it was finished my bill was exactly what they quoted me at. I highly recommend this place & will definitely bring my business back there again.
I took my f650 to these guys for a few small issues and an inspection. I decided to use River Drive after several bad experiences with another local heavy truck shop and I'm now wondering why I haven't gone sooner. The service writer, John, was very knowledgeable, friendly, honest and down to earth. He offered honest answers to any question asked and even supplied friendly banter while waiting at The counter. The work was performed in a timely manner and we were updated regularly on the progress of the repairs. I highly recommend this shop to anyone local with any kind of repairs from light duty trucks and cars up thru heavy duty trucks. Great shop, great people, amazing service!
This shop has been so helpful. They are directly down the street from my office and on a whim, one of the girls went to them to fix a hole in her tire. Since then, everyone in our office has used them and none of us have had issues.
As a woman, I feel that many shops take advantage of me and don't take the time to explain the process, cost and my options. John at River Drive, ALWAYS makes sure I understand what is going on and tells me to call him if I ever have any questions.
On top of all of that, they are very reasonably priced!
Took my 2001 Volkswagen Eurovan for a simple front end alignment. The quote was for $125-$180 plus any "additional" parts that may be needed. Got the bill and it was $572. No extra parts. Just labor. No phone call to give me a heads up that it would be more than three times the quoted price. If I could give them a no star rating, I would. Avoid these crooks at all cost.
LOVE this place , honest people, good mechanics. Had my semi truck in the shop and very happy with the job they've did. Shane, always helpful , and the rest. There is a problem with John at the front desk... You really don't know when he's joking or he's serious. So watch out , tricky guy but in a good way. He has a really good sense of humor.

I have a 38' rv pulling a 20' car hauler trailer on my way to AZ. I developed an engine oil leak and the alternator wasn't charging. I called and talked with Shane he said they were really busy but if I could get to there shop they would try and work it in later in the day or next am. I arrived 1hr later and they had a tech diagnosing the problems within 30 min. 3 hours later they had me on the road again. A new alternator and new oil filter installed. A BIG thank you to, Shane, John and Adam.
