Always a great view to see the geography of Pennsylvania's Northern Plateau.
Got to see just a remnant of the beautiful fall colors but it's beautiful everytime of year.
Beautiful day with plenty of wildlife and recreation activities happening. There were hang gliders taking off, which was really exciting to see up close.
Hyner View is simply breath-taking. The park is clean with clean restrooms and picnic tables to sit and eat at. The look out has a view lense for guests to view the beautiful scene with. Plenty of hiking trails and October is the best time to visit!
One of my favorite places..Hyner view offers panoramic views of rolling hills and forests, the small town, river and the bridge far below... A perfect place for picnic. It is also a beautiful drive that takes you through some of the best state parks and scenic areas and quaint little villages ..wildlife, winding roads and streams of PA wilds. There are many historical points of interest as well that makes you pause and think of the people and the times gone by and their legacies. Lots and lots of hiking trails, wildlife watching and recreation.
The state parks and authorities and local people have done commendable job in preserving these beautiful invaluable treasures of this great country. Thank you all.
I was completely blown away by my visit to Hyner Mountain today. The view was breathtaking, the restroom facilities were a solid B+, the parking lot was plenty big enough, and the picnic area was more than adequate. The drive in to the park from Route 44 is fairly long but the road is smooth and mostly straight.
This is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in all of PA. No hiking required.

Amazing view. Come during sunset and you won’t be disappointed. Not crowded and the grounds are well kept. I didn’t see any litter and the bathrooms are well maintained. Park ranger hovering around at dusk for safety reasons but he didn’t disturb us. It’s a bit of a drive to the view but well worth it.
The view is absolutely incredible!!! We were visiting from Canada, driving from Philly to Detroit. This was the coolest stop along the way. We got to visit while it was snowing, and I was awestruck. There is a nice park, a monument, and washrooms at the top of the hill. The trails are for more experienced hikers, but the access road to Hyner Run State Park is nice and easy, and closed to traffic this time of year.
Too cold and windy when I was there to really enjoy the park to its fullest, but the view is tremendous, as is the drive up from Lock Haven. Will certainly return in warmer weather (even a little warmer!).
Such an amazing place. I regret not to visit here earlier. The vew is great as you can see the river winding through the valley.
There are some portable bathrooms at the outlook (of course, don't expect too much of them).
It says that the uphill road is not cleaned during winter.
I waited too long, should have gone last week for fall foliage. 2nd week of Oct not 3rd. Narrow, windey, a little scarey road to Hyner View but definitely worth it.
The views were breathtaking! My first time visiting and I was blown away. The statutes are cool to look at as well. Calming and peaceful. I would highly recommend anyone to visit!
Highly recommend driving up the long windy road to enjoy the view and watch the sun set! The Appalachian Mountains are spectacular and the Susquehanna River is amazing. It can get very windy at the top and watch for wildlife crossing the road. Looks like a nice spot for a picnic and there are posted hiking trails.

Excellent View! A nice area that’s worth the drive up the mountain. It’s really neat to see how the rivers have truly shaped the countryside over the many years. There’s bathrooms available at the area along with some picnic spots. Some trails are also available in the area but I did not explore them when I was there.
This a beautiful hidden gem far from the crowds. Looks like a locally known and popular spot with sweeping views. The drive up the mountain road and out of the park is amazing. Be careful with wildlife and go slow to prevent slipping as it's a narrow winding road with no guardrail.
The Hyner View area itself is not very big but on a quiet day with some sun and clouds, one can really enjoy the scenery. Seasonal views probably change and make this park a great destination as long as the mountain road is open.
Great for photography and wandering around.
The drive through Central PA to get to the overlook was spectacular. The view from the top of the mountain was breathtaking. Cannot wait to come back and see it again in the spring.
Absolutely amazing view! Completely and utterly amazing view of PA's Grand Canyon! There wasn't a whole lot up there besides the view, parking, and the ramp I can only assume they use to roll old pumpkins down when they're going rotten. Seriously, what else was/is that ramp for! Gorgeous view!!!
This is the perfect place to go and take pictures. I personally have a fear of falling so the cloud coverage was just what I needed to calm my nerves and give me false security so that I was able to explore a little easier while enjoying my photography. We spent several hours up here doing a photo shoot and ended up learning about wild fire's and fire school. I wouldn't say this is an appropriate place for younger kids. Wear comfortable sneakers and bring a jacket because it is cooler than below. Perfect place for a date.
I went there on January 1. The view is wonderful and actually it’s not difficult to get to the place since the road construction is pretty good. It would be the most fantastic place for hanging out.
A beautiful park with stunning views of the Susquehanna valley as it passes through the Alleghenies. This is an amazing place to take in the scenery of the PA wilds. Also a very popular spot for bird watching and watching hang gliders as they take off from runways directly under the Vista. This park area boasts of a nice picnicking area with restrooms, several mountain trails, and various monuments to the area CCC camps and state fire wardens.
If you have the chance, take the time out and visit. The drive to the top is beautiful and the view once you get there is stunning and well worth it. Ive managed to make this trek at least a dozen or so times in my life and it never loses its appeal. One of the true gems in Pennsylvania.
Fabulous Views from this lookout. We had stopped here during bad weather and could not see very far, but made a point to return on outbound trip on a clear day and it was fantastic. Highly recommended for the views offered here. Added bonus would be here when they are hand-gliding off the ramp into the valley below!!! Put this on your list to do when visiting the PA Wilds.
