Stayed here in 2019 via Harvest Hosts. Today we revisited again in our RV. Had a great conversation with Ken and bought a bottle of Pinot Gris and Huckleberry wine. 85 degrees today and we're very glad they had 50 amp service to run our A.C.
We stopped in here on a "wine tour" for my sister's bachelorette party, and I wish we would have just spent the whole day here. Every wine we tried was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful. The employees and owner were some of the kindest people I've ever met. We felt so welcomed and my sister felt so celebrated by these strangers that they really didn't feel like strangers at all. I was honestly sad when we had to leave. THANK YOU for such a lovely experience! We will most assuredly be back again.
It was wonderful! A beautiful place to hold any event! Covered roof/ awning, plenty of space for guests to be seated and setup space outside for drinks, gift table and whatever else you want to put outside!
Inside air conditioned, and places for food and dessert! Public bathroom inside as well!
Don't forget it is a winery!!! Lots of wines to choose from too! As well as other items to purchase! Go check it out and you will see what I mean!

Nice little shop. The woman behind the counter was nice and inviting. She knew the wines like the back of her hand. Only issue is trying to find it via GPS. It kept taking us the "short cut" way which only ended up in someone's private drive way.. twice.. ?
Most beautiful winery ever! Owners very sweet and kind. The wine hands down some of the best I have ever had. Left with a case and will be having more shipped to home I am sure!
This is the perfect place to host a bridal shower! The management and facility were wonderful to work with. The price is right and guests enjoyed the sparkling diamond wine option. An easy venue to dress up with great views. Highly recommend!
No wine tasting allowed right now, not a great chillled wine selection and they were out of some flavors. But, we grabbed a few bottles of wine and enjoyed the outside seating and brought our own food to snack on. Great views and wonderful customer service. We would definitely go back.
Such a cool place. They have a nice year-round seating area outside the sale's floor. It has propane heaters and was inviting. The young man that was working the store was very personable and informed about their product offering. The prices are certainly reasonable--sparkling wines at $16 a bottle. They offer a 5% discount on 6 bottles. The overall setting is beautiful, and I'd love to go back in the spring or summer. Their wines are also available at tasting rooms in WalMart stores--both Johnstown and Altoona, and I believe Clearfield. Overall three of six wines I grabbed weren't stellar. The take home message is have a driver and taste before you buy. Their wines have a seemingly limestone/minerally undertone. That minerally taste in their sauvignon blanc and white diamonds was overpowering. The vidal is a better choice with a nicer tart/sweet balance and a less noticable mineral taste. Overall they have a GREAT selection and a well organized and beautiful facility.
Starr Hill Winery was one of the many wineries on our weekend wine tour. I have to say the gentleman who helped us was very friendly and knowledgeable. As we always do, we purchased a few bottles of wine after our tasting. Will definitely make the trip back to visit!
Always friendly staff. Always knowledgeable of their wines. Always willing to pour a taste. Always a great wine, regardless of my selections. Five starrs aren't enough ... Try eight or nine.
Their Malbec Candy Apple is the FIRST red wine I ever liked, and I loved it. Highly recommend.
I wish I could get their wine in New England instead of just when at Pennsic.
Banana chocolate wine tastes just like a banana split at the end! So good! I bought two bottles of their margarita wine. Add some ice and a salt rim and you're golden! Sweet wine tastings are free, and dry are $5, but you get a free wine glass. It was in a remote location but I would definitely go back!
The staff was very knowledgeable about the variety of wines. It was a great experience, we would highly recommend the wines. It was well worth the drive.
Only wine I tried was their $20 2014 Merlot, from their own grapes. It's terrible. Very acidic with a sweet aftertaste. It's like the first time I tried to make wine and it exploded in my garage.
I visited your outlet at the WalMart in Altoona. The sales person was a gem. I personally do not like wine but my husband and my girlfriend does so I am always just checking out new types and flavors for them. I was explaining this to the salesclerk and she suggested I try you razMtaz. OMG it is wonderful. I truly am only a beer drinker. I am really glad I live in Shippensburg PA or I would be at Walmart once a week buying wine. My husband and I love it and when I visit Altoona I will buy more. Tonight my girlfriend is going to try it and i will see what she thinks. Your clerk was please to see me return to buy more to bring to Shippensburg.
