We dined at the Stonehouse a few weeks ago and it was absolutely fabulous! We were in town for a little snowy weekend getaway, and the Stonehouse was our choice for our fine meal out. The signature fried zucchini was incredible! We tried the meatballs enjoyed some homemade bread with a garlic balsamic dip that was to die for. We ordered several entrees as we were taking food home for later. We ordered the ribeye the filet mignon and also the salmon. The the food was absolutely incredible. Seasoned vegetables that came with the meal were the best I've ever had. Our server was Kim she was absolutely delightful! She entertained us with some wonderful stories about the owners and the history of the restaurant. I felt like we were dining at a good friends house for dinner instead of a restaurant. It was an absolutely wonderful experience. And the restaurant itself is so beautiful the decor was stunning the fireplace by the table added such an incredible ambience. All around fabulous experience if you're in the area don't miss out!!

This was, without question, one of the most disgusting and poorly run establishments I have ever been in. The Stonehouse Inn in Farmington, PA has serious cleanliness and management problems that should concern anyone thinking about eating or staying here. The restaurant area was filthy. Floors, surfaces, and the overall dining space looked neglected and unsanitary. I personally observed roaches (photo attached), which is beyond unacceptable for any business, especially one that serves food. There also appeared to be signs of rodent activity, making the environment feel unsafe and unhealthy. Once you notice pests in a restaurant, there is no coming back from that — it completely destroys any trust in how food is handled. Even worse than the conditions was the complete lack of professionalism from staff and management. When concerns were raised, they were dismissed instead of addressed. There was no apology, no attempt to fix the problem, and no sense that anyone in charge actually cared. The attitude made it clear that these issues are likely ongoing and ignored. A worker named Christine was shockingly unprofessional. She was rude, dismissive, and confrontational, and her behavior alone would be enough to ruin the experience. On top of that, she reeked of alcohol, which was extremely noticeable and incredibly inappropriate in a workplace, especially one involving food service. It made the entire interaction uncomfortable and raised serious concerns about judgment and professionalism. Between the visible roaches, apparent rodent issues, dirty restaurant, terrible management, and unacceptable staff behavior, this place is a complete failure. I left feeling disgusted and angry that this business is allowed to operate in this condition. I would strongly advise anyone to stay far away — there are plenty of other places in the area that actually meet basic standards of cleanliness and respect for customers.

Quaint, rustic, extremely cozy! I'd of appreciated a little more sunlight and air in a restaurant, but the dimness gives a homey feel. Good drinks & tasty food.

We had a rehearsal dinner at the Stone House and it was perfect! The food was excellent, the service was great, and the attention to detail could not have been better. I would highly recommend the Stone House to anyone looking for a beautiful venue to host a gathering.

We used the Stone House Inn as our wedding caterer and had a wonderful experience. Christine is extremely personable and genuinely cares about her couples and their guests, and it shows in every detail. We are so grateful for her and highly recommend Christine to anyone looking for an exceptional caterer who delivers incredible food, service, and heart! We received so many compliments on the food and service at our wedding!

Food was very good. Service was great. Decent portion size. Currently decorated for Christmas. Always a treat to eat here.

The food here is amazing and service is excellent!! Loved my pecan crusted salmon salad. The fillet was so good! The the cool historic ambiance added to the dining experience. We stayed the night in the JV Thompson room. View isn't great,but room was super clean and comfy. The jacuzzi felt sooooooo good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Will come again in future.

We had an amazing dinner and stay at the Stone House Inn! The dinner portions were more than generous for the price and each had amazing flavor. Everyone on the service team was so nice and accommodating. The rooms are a fun change from a boring hotel room. We stayed in one of the Victorian Suites and the bed was so comfortable after a long day hiking outside.

We love The Stonehouse! We have been several times. Both as a couple and with family members as well. Last night we took my mom and dad there for dinner for mom’s 83rd birthday. Our server in the past has been Kim. She’s amazing ! Last night we had a gal named Annie. She is equally amazing! Very attentive and really took care of us. Our meal was awesome and at the end I told Annie that mom and I would like to share the lava cake and that it was mom’s birthday. A few moments later the service staff walked through the door with the lava cake, a single candle and they all sang and celebrated mom for her birthday! It was so special and made her cry (in a good way)! Thank you everyone at The Stonehouse for making our night one to remember!!

I surprised my wife with a little weekend birthday trip here to then explore both tbe Ohiopyle and Morgantown areas. We stayed in one of the Ziegler suites, and the price for the quaint but lovely room was pretty unbelievable, especially considering the average price for a standard hotel these days, as well as the tendency for the surrounding Nemacolin area to throttle prices for visitors. The room was rather small, but easily did the job for the two of us, and the whirlpool tub was an added little luxury. The included Continental Breakfast is really just a little packaged snack station with some beverage options, but it's better than nothing, and having the restaurant and bar steps away is an added benefit. The whole Inn is decorated very nicely and gives a feel for yesteryear opulence. The staff was also very friendly, and our whole experience was a good one, and one I would happy to experience again.

This was a very random stop for me. I was really hungry on my way back to DC and out of all the high-end restaurants that I've been to, I think this is one of the best ravioli dish I've ever had. They had this unique butternut squash ravioli with chicken that was the best ravioli dish. Too bad it's seasonal because that dish was a sensation.

Inside the tent where the event where everything was happening it was 40° in side there and they had three heater and the one was over the bartender’s the other over the DJ and one in the entrance,, every one was complaining n they said the other heaters where in the barn empty of propane n we all where able to see our breath then the bartender was shutting the bar down because 911 was called for an old lady not feeling good from being so cold then the dj quit also an hr n half early because of that 911 call,,but the worse thing of all the food that was left on your table when you went to get a drink or dance, the food n plate was removed from the staff. They took the cake that my wife n myself n never took a bite n took our complete cake away because they wanted to get out of there early . I have no idea but we never got to taste it ,,, they mention about the buffet will be closing soon. I went up to get food and they had no plates n Nobody could find any |Then the next day my daughter asked about the filet mignon and all the food I payed for n seen being removed n They said there wasn’t anything left,,There was a lot of people that left early because of the coldness ,,also What kind of open bar is it that you’re not allowed to have a shot she said company policy.I would never recommend this place ,,and for the money I paid what a waste

This review is strictly related to the behavior of the catering leader. The food was delicious, but when she heard the bride's father complaining about the temperature in the venue (not at Stone House) she took it upon herself to get into an argument with the father of the bride, several wedding guests, and ultimately ran to make sure the bride was included in the drama. Absolutely unprofessional and disappointing.

The dining area is absolutely gorgeous. For starters, though, the food is undoubtedly debatable. My chicken parmigiana appeared more like chicken soup, I was served dead muscles and the grilled shrimp was way over seasoned and overpowering although the plating sauce was quite pleasing. I have to admit my blackberry lemonade martini was fantastic although not served in an appropriate martini glass. I was disappointed I wasn’t able to order and try out their dessert for fear that it would be as disappointing as dinner.

I recently was apart of a wedding and was in charge of the tip for the crew for the Stonehouse. I asked one of the employees a few days after the fact if they had received the tip and they told me no that Christine or whoever is the boss didn't give them any tip. They said it was usual for her to keep the gratuity.... I absolutely do not think it is right at ALLL I will not recommend this place to anyone especially since it said gratuity was included but they told me they didn't get any tips. I also went to the restaurant a few days later to eat because I heard the food was good but I saw a cockroach run across the floor by the fireplace.... absolutely filthy I would've never expected this type of trashiness from this business, it may look pretty but it's disgusting inside.

This place is in the middle of nowhere but it is a beautiful area and a very cute-looking inn. The restaurant is very homie and cozy. The staff was very nice and my food was absolutely amazing. I had the prime rib, which was massive, and it was cooked to perfection and thankfully served with creamy horseradish sauce and some au jus. The table next to me had the lasagna which looked really good and really big. Come hungry, leave happy.

Just had my daughter’s wedding at Fernstone retreat. We had Stonehouse cater. When to restaurant for dinner for tasting. Service was great, food was awesome, and Christine was so attentive. They catered wedding and everything was perfect. Christine was a Godsend ! We had problem at one of cabins and she was all over it ! Had it revolved in minutes and she’s the caterer! Would highly recommend them for dinner or catering, outstanding place!

WOW WOW WOW!! This place exceeded our expectations!! My husband and I sat in the tavern and it was so cozy and our server was very kind and prompt. We ordered the caprese and caesar salad as appetizers, the Caesar dressing was perfect! I ordered the italian sausage and gnocchi and the flavors were absolutely fantastic, one of the best pasta dishes i’ve ever had. My husband ordered the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly and the mash potatoes were full of flavor. The portion sizes are very generous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

We could not have asked for a better wedding experience than the one we had at Fernstone with The Stone House. From start to finish, everything was truly perfect- and that is thanks to Christine. She is an absolute angel. Christine went above and beyond in every way possible. A few days before our wedding, I called her with a simple question, she immediately picked up on the anxiety in my voice. Without hesitation, she dropped everything she was doing and came up and met me and my husband at Fernstone to help figure out my table setup. That kind of care and dedication is something you don’t see often, and it meant the absolute world to me. She was there for every detail. Patient, kind, and so helpful when it came to food options, timing, and setup. She made sure everything ran smoothly, and she truly treated our day like it was as important to her as it was to us. The food was absolutely phenomenal, and our guests are still talking about it! The banquet staff and bartenders were also incredible, professional, friendly, and attentive to every need. I honestly don’t have a single bad thing to say. Christine and her team made our wedding everything we dreamed of and more. I will forever be grateful for her heart, her dedication, and her amazing team. If you are considering booking The Stone House to cater your wedding, do yourself a favor and book it. I promise you will be in the very best hands!

Cohosted a baby shower at The Stone House. Christine is such a pro that you just need to let her do her job and your event will be perfect. The wait staff and bartender were wonderful. Not only did the food taste great but the presentation was beautiful. I highly recommend them. The food in the restaurant is fabulous.

We couldn’t be happier with the catering for our wedding! The food was absolutely delicious—our guests are still raving about it—and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Absolutely incredible food!! Look at the porion sizes. Homemade horseradish sauce!! The sauce for bread dipping had whole pieces of garlic!! As a guy who spent years in the food business, Kim is one of the best servers I have encountered in years!! She was both genuine and professional. Will be going back soon!!!

We had 4 people in our party. Two dishes, steak and seafood pasta were very good. However, the chicken parm was terrible. The chicken was overcooked and so dry it was not edible. The sauce tasted like just paste no sauce. To complete the dish and make it even less likeable, a glaze was drizzled around the dish and got some on the pasta which ruined the dish. So disappointed.

The Stone House Restaurant and banquet manager, Christine, and her entire crew deserve the highest praise for the exceptional job they did for our son’s wedding. From the very first tasting at the restaurant to the detailed planning, setup, and flawless execution on the big day, not a single detail was overlooked. Serving a delicious meal to a table at a restaurant is impressive enough, but delivering the same outstanding quality and flavor to 150 guests was nothing short of remarkable—every plate was amazing, and our guests have not stopped raving about the food! Christine was an absolute angel and a true problem solver, skillfully arranging the venue, enhancing the cookie table, and elevating the buffet to a five-star presentation. Her professionalism, creativity, and dedication made the day unforgettable, and I cannot recommend the Stone House Restaurant and their incredible team highly enough.

My wife Mickey and myself stopped for lunch this date, Friday, August 1, 2025. It was one of the most beautiful experiences we ever had dinning out. Allie, the Manager was absolutely first class in her wanting to help us have a great experience dining at this establishment. She was professional, caring and most of all sincere in her making sure we were well taken care of. Our server Kim was over the top. She couldn't do enough for us. What a beautiful lady she is. And on top of all the kindness, another server, Charaty, without hesitation asked if she could assist my wife, who is 83 years old and walks with a walker and cane to use the rest room. All this was done with sincerity, and a willingness to go that extra mile for two old people. My wife and I are both 83 years old, married 63 years, have eaten at a lot of restaurants over the years. Because of these three dedicated fantastic employees, it was the best lunch date ever. Allie, Kim, Charaty, we can't thank you enough for making this experience one we will remember for a long time. We had lunch here after a busy day exploring, and we could not have picked a better place. Our server (Rhonda) was fantastic she was very attentive and even put our kids order in first so they could get to eating! The kids' meals were great portions, and the kids all said they tasted great! The adults' meals were delicious. I had a steak burger, and my wife had a seasonal salad with a raspberry dressing that was making me wish I had gotten a salad. The prices were reasonable, and the service was first rate.
