Tire replacement was easy and in-line with today’s pricing. Karch also was sympathetic towards our schedule for after the tire order we had a situation that seemed more important and they allowed us time to get that under control to schedule the tire replacement. We love, the tires, and the family atmosphere at Karch with Jeff, Rob and Sarah. Thanks for being exceptional!!
Overpriced. I was charged for a “diagnostic” for a mechanic taking in and putting out a tail light ($55) this was also done and replaced for free at Valvoline down the street, something Karch Auto also charged me $500 dollars for. Beware of this place, especially if you’re a college student, they are crooks.
I recently requested a new appt at Karch Auto for my vehicle official state inspection service, plus, oil change w/ needed new filter, then also, pointing to prompt attention to any necessary repairs (wiper blades, electrical systems check/ replacement prior to winter season operations. Mainly to fulfill state vehicle inspection this current year cycle, plus inspection itself. My appointment was scheduled in very welcoming, business frame-comfortable time-frame for such repair & replacement. Once more, excellent service, cost & professional processing method is received. My top-flight recommendation of Karch Auto confidence is sustained, continues! Bravo!
First time customer. My college students car had an electrical issue. We had it towed to Karch. I called ahead to set up an appointment and they were ready when the car was dropped off. Fast repair and turnaround. Will be using Karch for all services in the future.

Visited for PA inspection with emission as well. If u book early morning it will be pretty easy to get confirmed. Fair amount of time waiting could be a bit faster though. Overall price was reasonable. I was worried with bad reviews saying that over estimate over prices.

Went in for an emissions inspection and a visual inspection of the belt because it was making a noise. Then when I go to pick up the car they tell me that supposably when taking out the wheels the stud broke. Nobody called me or took a picture or anything letting me know that it actually broke and it needed to be replace. I never authorized for this but still I had to pay an additional 176 dollars for labor for something that they might have broken. I have no proof or anything that they actually needed to do this. I feel a bit scam
Had my oil change and tire rotation done here (brought my own oil and filter). The rate was excellent, the work was solid, and I’ll be back for my next service.
The staff was great with checking with the parts supplier about the warranty on some exhaust parts I've had for a few years, but only had for just short 25K miles. They have a new text system that sends your estimate. It is nice, because previously like most garages, they'd call and it kind of put you on the spot to approve the work without seeing the details about the parts/service. Every time I've been in they've been welcoming.
Karch has been doing my auto maintenance for 2+ years. Never a complaint. Honest estimates, professional & timely service. Always a friendly can-do attitude. Highly recommended.

These are some of the nicest people I have ever met. They’re professional friendly and will go the extra mile for their customers. They greeted me by name and with a smile.
$61 for a diagnosis. $105 for a replacement sway bar link (part and labor). Very nice staff. Running a good operation, and within walking distance of Good Day Cafe so you can sip on something pleasant as you wait.
Karch has a punchcard system so that 10 services (no matter what it is) will get you a free inspection or $25 off your 11th service. Pretty neat!

I have found it difficult to trust garages across the area. However, Karch Auto seem genuinely interested in trying to work with you to identify issues and communicate them in a way that's understandable. They are friendly and not condescending...unlike some garages that can talk down to you. I had an issue with a coolant leak two Christmases ago which lingered for almost a year as I bounced around from garage to garage. I went to Karch and they focused on a specific issue and fixed it. While I technically experienced the same issue afterward for a time, they owned up to it being a defective part they installed and replaced it for free. Aside from the issue with that part, the point is that they fixed an issue that plagued me for almost a year. I trust them with my car.
If you are looking for a shop that stands behind their work and works with you to get it right, this is the place. I'm grateful for the professionalism, attention to detail, and thoroughness to resolve my drivetrain issues. Jeff and his team are top-notch.
My mom had an accident. After dealing with State Farm, Karch picked up the car from the driveway, moved it to their shop and did an awesome job repairing and doing all necessary bodywork. The shop was very professional and responsive and the experience was extremely positive. They even shuttled my mom's car to her house, which was a tremendous help for me and her. Great honest place! Really great service! Just bought a car and needed some checking. Got my inspection and emissions testing done within an hour, which was pretty fast. I plan to go there for all of my auto needs. Super friendly and informative.
My daughter and I always trust Karch Auto for all her auto maintenance needs. We are from the Philadelphia suburbs and no idea who to use for service in State College. We tried a few places that were good until a local roommate recommended Karch Auto. I found Karch auto to be outstanding; an A++ compared to B that I'm more used to everywhere else. I prefer Karch for my daughters car versus our dealership back home. They are reasonably priced, honest, and tecnically competent. I brought the car in for inspection this week. Excellent service. Drove from the North East to Penn State for a campus tour and ran over a large screw/bolt. Called Karch Auto at 7:45 am. Told them what happened and that I was scheduled to drive back home that afternoon after the tour ended. Not only did Karch get me in right away, but managed to take care of the tire issue while we attended the campus tour and have the issued fixed before the tour was over. What could have been a complete disaster was nothing more than a minor speed bump thanks to Karch Auto. Couldn't recommend them enough! Thanks to everyone at Karch!
If you want old fashioned customer care, this is your car service center! Always courteous, fast, reliable, and they know cars! Estimates are also on target. I have been bringing several family cars here over the years.

I highly recommend this company. I don’t know why less than 4 rating is listed as recommending. The problem is people are reviewing Karch by experiences with a different company a towing company. That is not fair to Karch. The numbers should be much higher. Probably satisfied people forget to comment! Karch employees have always been friendly and helpful. We’ve had several things done. Work done has been very good. Prices in range with others. Not over charging. Today the young lady at desk was incredibly patient and kind with my older friend who was struggling and confused and honestly he was very frustrating to me. I wouldn’t have been surprised if she’d said sorry we can not serve you! But instead she called the man’s insurance company and let us know what we needed to know. His insurance had been canceled. He didn’t believe it and got agitated. She could have just firmly told us to leave but she was so patient and kind. That was incredible customer service. She deserves a raise!
