Clowns. Talk numerous times on the phone to verify the tire drove over an hr to pick it up for a customer stranded on i80 just to find out the DOT date it out n they can’t sell it. Plus gonna walk over air hoses n listen to rap music blaring to get to the main entrance. Would not recommend
Made an appointment for 8/31 on 8/30, when I made that appointment it said a message would be sent to confirm... next day hrs before the appointment i still hadn't received an confirmation so I called to confirm and Rita said she had one technician and wouldn't be able to get to it, also she said that didn't even have that tire size, soo I suggested an alternative tire size that would work and we set up an appointment for 9/1. We'll today when I got up there I walked did the whole whole I am and what not and this horrendous lady said they didn't have my tire size in stock and so I told her what me and Rita talked about and said we'll we only have 3 in stock of your alternate size and won't have them till Thursday. So I drove over an hr for absolutely no reason because I was lied to and not kept up to date. This was my first and last time trying Firestone... thank you firestone for reassuring me that I should keep with the mom and pop shops that are left.
This place doesn’t deserve any stars canceled my appointment twice emailed me 5 minutes after I arrived 2nd time I found out they didn’t even have tires I ordered anywhere
I went to get my vehicle inspected annually, and it turns out an employee drove my vehicle inside their establishment to inspect it. I saw him back up, touch some bushes, and touch the paint on the rear bumper. I asked him to fix it, and he simply said, "I didn't do it." This agency is not responsible for damage to your vehicle. Be very careful with this staff.
Went here for a state safety and emissions inspection. Friendly service and they reminded me of manufacture suggested service that was due based on our car's mileage. Parking lot is pretty crowded, minor complaint.
Excellent service. Extremely professional and felt taken care of while getting my vehicle inspected. I highly recommend if you need your vehicle serviced in state college.
Scam! Scheduled tire change, selected specific tires on the website, but they installed tires that were significantly more expensive. Discovered when the work was done.
Always friendly, fast and reliable! Reasonable on prices as well. I have had 2 times when my car needed something done unexpectedly first thing in the morning due to engine light and tire light on. They got me right in, fixed the issue, explained everything and got me out quickly. I greatly appreciate that, as other local shops won’t do that or charge outrageous prices or simply don’t solve the issue. So thank you fire stone for being so helpful today and back in April. It’s much appreciated!
I almost never write reviews, but my experience at this Firestone was so egregiously bad that I feel compelled to warn others to stay away from them. On a Friday afternoon my car experienced a flat tire and bent rim, and the wheel needed to be replaced. I brought my car to this Firestone and they assured me that they would be able to replace the wheel and tire by 5 PM that day. When I dropped it off I was very clear with them that both the wheel and tire needed to be replaced. I then received a call around 6:30 PM that day telling me that they wouldn't be able to do anything that day because they thought I only needed to have a tire replaced, and they would have to order a wheel for me, and that this would not arrive until Tuesday. I was very annoyed that they essentially lied to my face, but (due to a lack of other options) I decided to book an appointment to have the wheel and tire replaced with them on Tuesday. When Monday afternoon came around I called to make sure that the appointment was still on and that the wheel would arrive on time, because I had plans for an out-of-state road trip on Wednesday. They assured me that they would be able to take care of my wheel and tire at 9 AM on Tuesday. When I brought the car in at that time on Tuesday, they seemed a little out of sorts and then informed me that the order for my wheel had never actually been completed, and that they would not be able to get me a wheel for another day or two. I was astounded by their incompetence and flat out lies to me both over the phone and directly to my face. They had no explanation for any of this, and they seemed rather unconcerned about how their poor and (at best) misleading information messed up my travel plans. I advise all to stay away from this place so that you don't end up in a similar situation.
I got two tires replaced and a four wheel alignment. After waiting 2-3 hours, I got it back and was told that it "should be fine" with no more pulling. If anything, the alignment was worse after I got the car back. I went to a different mechanic who changed the placement of the tires in case of tire pull, didn't work. Turns out, outer tie end rod was loose and Firestone did a wheel alignment on a loose outer tie end rod and didn't tell me. After some negotiation, I was at least able to get a refund from Firestone.
I missed inspection deadline. Firestone got me in in 24 hours and made the necessary repairs to get me legally back on the road. I called into the garage bay to thank the mechanic.
Logan was an amazing worker and helped me for when I had questions! Dough helped me find that i had a bad tire and personally went out of his way to get me a rear one what a great guy.
Racks can lift 10k pounds, but they won’t put tires on an 8800 pound truck. I guess math has changed and jacks are obsolete. Not sure how garages like this stay in business with that poor of customer service. Receptionist was very rude and short answered. Between the other negative reviews and this experience, they for sure lost my business and anyone I can let know to steer clear of them
Well, the person at the register, who was there when I first walked in, was not so friendly. Besides that, the Store Manager was friendly and patient. They fixed the alignment right with 1 try. I was able to get in on the same day. I didn’t like the fact that they have to charge me with shop supplies for $9 plus.
Came here because my car was having difficulties starting. They charged me $100 to tighten my battery terminals. They were extremely belittling, saying things like it would be like “finding a purple unicorn” if something else was the reason my car wasn’t starting, when I said that I believe there is a different issue. Guess what, my car is still not starting correctly. Extremely unprofessional and unhelpful.
Criminal practices. Failed my annual "mechanical" inspection. Given a over $1,000 estimate to fix it because it was labor intensive. Said my front, right tie rod was "bent" then tried to push their zero interest financing on me. Went and got a second opionion. My tie rod was fine, It was the right lower ball joint. Guy just freaking guessed at what was wrong. $30 part and 1 hour of work to get repaired. Even if it was the tie rod, i should have been quoted a $40 part and 1.5 hours of labor. So unless Firestone charges $400 an hour in labor and an 800% markup in parts price, they were trying to screw me. Save yourself the trouble. Go to Grahams and don't get your eye's gouged our of your skull.
Reply to your apology: No. Go pound sand. You do an audit and fix the problem yourself. In the meantime, I'll do everything in my power to prevent people from using your srvices.
What an amazing experience! We were traveling through State College and broke a strut on our truck. We ended up calling Firestone and they helped us find a towing company. Now here it is, 9:30 p.m. at night and Cody & Doug are still working hard to get us from stranded to back on the road! We have never been treated so well!! Kudos to Cody & Doug!!!
Had to get a parking brake replaced on our way thru from WV to MI on a Saturday afternoon. They were able to do the 3+ hrs of labor and were able to get the parts quickly. Very impressed with the service and communication from the staff and mechanic who did the work. Can’t ask for more
Predatory price gouging. It is also a shame the PA state government is still forcing all current and new state citizens to pay extortionate yearly vehicle inspection fees to local auto mechanics on top of the cost you must pay for them to certify your vehicle. My car is only 4 years old and I have had no problems with it. Tires and brakes were maintained. After an hour of sitting in the lobby, I get told they won't certify my vehicle unless I pay $467 for my rotors and new break pads plus the $63 inspection fee. Plus tax I paid almost $600. I ended up sitting in the lobby for 2.5 hours for the entire process since I only have 10 days to get this inspection done by such a stupid state law. Because of this insane short grace period, I was forced to call off from work. If you have a stable work schedule, I highly advise you to shop around a bit more to find a more affordable option if you have the time. Don't make the same mistake I did. They will take advantage of you and not even blink. You've been warned.
Just a big shout out to the crew at the Firestone shop in State College. I was in town on a Sunday morning to move my daughter out of her apartment when I incurred a puntured tire from a screw that rendered it completely flat. After AAA temporarily inflated it for me, I called Firestone ahead of time, and Bethany told me they could make the repair if I brought it in. Despite the shop being short-staffed and crazy busy on this particular Sunday, they immediately took my vehicle in and started the repair. A short time later, I was back in business after the $21 tire patch. Yes, just $21. Anyway, Bethany was juggling numerous orders simultaneously, with several folks in the waiting area, and a continuously ringing phone, but never lost her cool. Quite the professional. Hey management, give that woman a raise!
All the workers were on top of it and prioritized customer service. While waiting, I watched upwards of 10 people walk in at once and the auto care advisor was able to assist them all with kindness, give accurate expected timeframes, and provide the best solutions for the customers. Will definitely be back!
I scheduled an appointment online and got an email confirmation the very next day. They took my car right into the shop (a/c problems) and they were able to figure out exactly what the issue was. I was short $10 and they were able to take down the price for me to be able to fix the air conditioning since it was summer time and HOT! Super quick service, friendly environment, and we only waited in store for an hour. I highly recommend!
Long story short attempt. Failed to follow my instructions on an ac charge and inspection. Did not replace a very inexpensive part I had SPECIFICALLY requested. By the time I realized I needed service again a winter had passed. The system failed at the exact part I’d requested. They stonewalled me on their screw up (including lies or misinformation whatever you want to call it) and the car never had cold air again due to the cost of fixing it. Meanwhile same trip they attempted to sell me service and repairs that I definitely did not need. Why didn’t they just do the repair I requested??? My last dealings with Firestone. My bad for expecting people to do what they said they’d do.
A bit pricier than other options, but I don’t mind. They always honor appointments, and they can usually squeeze you in a couple days if you need something immediately. Plus, Dawn is very helpful and adds coupons and discounts, even if you forget to bring them up/print them out. I’ve been going here for over 5 years, and I’ve always been satisfied. They do try to sell you on a few extra things, but that just feels like company policy—they let it be if you say no.
Bridgestone tires have also treated me well and always lasted until their warranty.
Doug the manager was super. I was traveling through State College when a tire showed low pressure. I pulled into Firestone and they quickly had my car on a lift and saw I had a 5-inch metal rod in the tire. They certainly could have convinced me that I needed a new tire, but they said it could be repaired and in less than 45 minutes, the job was done and I was safely back on the road for $32.08.
Got my alignments done here several times. You can't beat their life-time alignment deal. The staff is prompt and nice to deal with. Always honored my appointments and had the alignment work done within an hour. Also they are not pushy about suggested services.
Professional service, replaced all four tires with 70000 miles warranty tires for winter. Salesman is very knowledgeable and offered whole life tire rotation and filter changing package. Fast service with promised time. I had to wait some time even after setting an appointment, but other than that satisfied with the service. Will see how the new tire serves over time.
