I've not been here as a patient, i'm just wondering why are all adults?And they won't allow you to be on the phone longer than five minutes, and why the hell the staff do they brainwash?You like in thinking that they can control you?And why the hell did this state police do anything? My boyfriend's in there right now and it's crazy

I was a patient there proud to say I just celebrated 3 years of sobriety. They really do try their best here, they have a full schedule to keep you busy, pastor John’s words still stick with me! The facility is a nice campus, I never felt unsafe there. The detox staff are amazing people! I was going through a lot during that phase and they were very understanding and helpful. They accommodated me the best way they could to keep me comfortable. I still remember the one aids name, Allie. When people help you during a hard time it’s people like that who keep you going! If you’re looking to get sober this is a good structured place to start!

If I could give a lower rating I would. They medically discharged me to get a fake leg resized then drug me along for 2 days about bringing me back to tell me I couldn't come back. Then said they sent my meds to a pharmacy and never did. This is why people fail.

If I could, I would absolutely live at Cove Forge forever!! This place has helped me tremendously... the best facility by far for drug and alcohol dependency combined with behavioral health services in my opinion and I've spent a very good amount of time at others and at Cove Forge and yes, I'd recommend this program/rehab/treatment center for sure!!! Very professional staff who are friendly, kind, and caring at the same time! This place has been my life saver literally on several occasions, ya just gotta keep trying every time if you fail just try again and do not give up, ever! You'll see that this beautiful thing called LIFE is SO VERY MUCH worth the effort and determination. Take care of yourself first and foremost then everything else will "magically" fall into place... BEYOND YOUR WILDEST DREAMS. I PROMISE. ??

I was there on 6/22/25 till 7/25/25 I got my coin and certificate. I was like everyone else hated being there I wanted to go home but I must say after I almost walked out I was able to get the medicine taper back up to where I felt comfortable. There is room for improvement when it comes to the medicine and to get seconds at breakfast lunch and dinner. I was always hungry thankfully I was able to collect snacks. I truly enjoyed the fellowship there and some of the counselors really want to help. And can't forget about the tecs they go out of there way to help. Everyone has a different experience but if your there to work on yourself and just get sober and work on your sobriety I will recommend this place to anyone. I just got over 3 months sober and will continue to celebrate my sobriety from now on. Thank you for helping achieve that goal.

My relative was just there . Seen a counselor 2 x in 2 weeks. Rehab? Sounds like a joke. Rehab is just a stay out of jail card. Unbelievable.

A Living Nightmare — Cove Forge Is a Hellhole Masquerading as Rehab Cove Forge in Williamsburg, PA, is not a rehabilitation center — it is a warehouse of human suffering, a festering ground of neglect, abuse, and institutionalized trauma. I spent 16 days in their inpatient facility, and what I witnessed was more like a prison run by indifference and chaos than any form of medical or therapeutic treatment. Within days of arriving, I watched a body bag being wheeled out of Detox A. The staff acted like this was routine — no alarm, no emotion, just cold, mechanical efficiency. That moment set the tone for everything that followed: death, silence, and cover-up. I was threatened by another patient, and when I went to staff for help, I was told they “didn’t have time for this.” Those exact words. Not only did they fail to protect me, they made it clear that our safety meant nothing to them. Vulnerable people were thrown into the same space with violent, unstable individuals and left to fend for themselves. The detox unit is coed, which in practice means that women are sexually harassed, groped, and stalked daily by male patients — with full knowledge of staff. Predators thrive in that environment because Cove Forge enables them. I saw men who were clearly heterosexual suddenly “identify” as women just to get access to the female units. No one cared. No one intervened. Gang members ran the halls like they owned them. Drugs circulated openly. People were extorted, bullied, and broken. Staff turned a blind eye to everything, either too apathetic or too overworked to care. Cove Forge is not a place for healing — it is a crucible of re-traumatization and psychological decay. Veterans were denied access to VA services, kept away from liaisons, and lied to about their treatment options. The very people who served this country were left to rot in a system that chewed them up and spit them out with no dignity, no respect, and no help. I left Cove Forge more damaged than I entered. I saw people relapse inside the facility. I saw people mentally snap. I saw people give up hope completely. Do not send your loved ones here. Do not go here. If you are in crisis, this place will finish what your addiction started. Cove Forge is not just a bad rehab — it is dangerous.

A Dangerous and Negligent Facility — Avoid Cove Forge at All Costs I was a resident at Cove Forge Behavioral Health in Williamsburg, PA, for 16 days, and I can say without hesitation that it is one of the most mismanaged, dangerous, and unethical rehabilitation centers I have ever encountered. This facility is not a place of healing — it is a deeply dysfunctional, unsafe environment where vulnerable people are further traumatized rather than helped. During my short time there, I personally witnessed a patient being wheeled out of Detox A in a body bag. The severity of this incident alone should raise immediate red flags, but it was just one example of the chaos and neglect that defines Cove Forge. I was harassed and threatened by another patient, and when I alerted staff, I was told flatly that they “didn’t have time for this.” The staff showed no interest in resident safety or intervention. There is a complete lack of accountability or even basic concern for patient wellbeing. I saw blatant extortion, intimidation, and sexual harassment happening daily. Female patients were constantly groped and harassed by male residents, particularly in the coed detox unit, which is an utterly inappropriate and unsafe arrangement. Disturbingly, men who clearly identified as heterosexual were claiming to be transgender and were housed with female residents, leading to further discomfort and risk for the women in those quarters. Gang activity and drug dealing were rampant inside the facility, and many patients described being retraumatized rather than rehabilitated. Instead of treatment, Cove Forge serves as a holding pen for criminal activity, abuse, and institutional indifference. Even more appalling was the treatment of veterans. I heard multiple veterans complain that they were denied access to VA liaisons and not referred to the appropriate services. This is not only unprofessional — it is potentially a violation of federal standards for veteran care. This place is an absolute disgrace to the field of addiction recovery. It is unsafe, unethical, and unworthy of the trust of anyone seeking help. If you or a loved one are considering treatment, do not go to Cove Forge. Your safety, dignity, and recovery are far too important to risk at a facility like this.

My daughter was at Cove Forge for almost 3 months. It was the furthest she'd ever managed to get through the rehab process and she was excited to be moving to a halfway house and waiting for a place. That was when Cove Forge staff showed the most astounding insensitivity by announcing to her out of the blue that she had to leave, pretty much within 24 hours, and that I had to come get her because her "insurance had stopped." They had apparently known about this for a week already but had chosen not to tell her because, according to the group leader who actually announced this imminent departure to her **in front of her group** (??!), people get "antsy" when you give them warning... I don't even have words for the stupidity of this. I called her counselor and left a long voicemail explaining that if she was discharged now with no further plan she would relapse, and to please give it a day or two so we could try and sort something out. I had talked to her insurance provider in the meantime and they themselves weren't sure why she was being discharged since normally her coverage was good until Medicaid kicked in. But Cove Forge insisted they had "tried everything" and told her she had to go. She did. She walked out distraught, and has now completely relapsed and is back on the street. I'm disgusted by the attitude of staff at that place. When her counselor finally called me back hours later that day, he never even told me she had already left and sounded like he just could not care less. In fact he was continuing a conversation with someone else while talking to me. Oh and she had caught a nasty case of strep throat the previous week and was not allowed to see a nurse about it for several days by which time she could hardly talk. Nice. Maybe she was just unlucky and got those burned-out staff who don't care and should have left and found another job, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I spent a total of 14 days total in this place. The people. Staff wise. Are all amazing. They are great people and most of themselves are addicts who have since stayed clean. From what I understand though. Detox patience have it way more comfortable than rehab patients. Let's face it. Rehab is practically jail except your allowed to smoke. They do not have ATM's and they do not allow visitations no matter what their website says. All and all though they do make you feel comfortable while in detox. Literally the 3 stars I gave is because of the staff. That's it. That's all. And when you try to leave. Upper management. They will lie to you and do whatever it takes to get you to stay. Mmmmm one more or two days just to suck out as much money as they can get. I'm trying conwego Snyder next. Now that I am detoxed. But this time. I won't need to argue with them if they pull some shit. I'll be 31 minutes from home and will gladly walk home if need be.

I was under Priscilla Roberts there due to my insurance. The only thing I liked there was Andrew counselor in Detox. He was the BEST.

I went to call forage back in the 80s and I was addicted to two different kinds of drugs and I went to court and it was the best decision I could have made they helped me to live a new way a clean way and if you go there and you listen you can take something from there that can save your life just remember when you get there take the cotton out your ears and stick it in your mouth it just might save your life

My name is Sarah I'm a fetnayal and trank addict, I left cove on April 10th ama because I had a weak moment today I called them back because I'm ready they told me no I begged them because I know I'm not going to last 30 days out here I have OCD and other issues that make change uncomfortable for me. I completed cove last July. I've explained to them it's the only rehab I have been too and the only one I'll go too! When bawling and telling them j don't think I'm going to make it 30 days they didn't care! I need help

I went in in April of 2023. I am an alcoholic, I drank non stop for over 30 years. I spent 34 days there, and I'm so glad I did! Best decision I ever made. 4•18•23 is my sober day. Do not listen to The One stars. I went there for two weeks and wished i stayed for longer. I was not in my right mind obviously with my addiction. They have to do things a certain way. It changed my life. From the river and eagles to the bats circling the street lamps. The food was great, beds were clean. It's like an old classy mansion. I enjoyed the trips to meetings and the field trips on rotation. I was there in 2010 ish. Not a bad beginning to a new life. They have to do things a certain way....and it's not your way. Your way didn't work. I am thankful for this place.

My boyfriend was a patient and it sounds more like a college campus then a rehab. I called seven times to leave messages but he never recieved. I know they can't confirm if he's a patient i never asked. he's called me once when he was there because of their phone policy that is almost no phone time at all. When I say something is URGENT you would think it would be important to get through.

I left cove forge a year and half ago and it truly saved my life the techs was very caring and truly wanted to help like mrs Kim she went above and beyond and Mrs Raven she was straight to the point and took no bs and I respect that she and others there have played a big part in my recovery and I'm so thankfully for cove forge that has them because we all need people like them to help us at are lowest and pastor Mark can't forget him. I will forever be grateful for everyone there

Called multiple people to set up my meds i need to stay alive, said no problem then i get there and its a problem, 3 days in i only got 1/12th of the meds i should of had. Nurses were disrespectful and was told rudely “no you cant?” after saying i could have a heart attack without meds. Med line is a narrow hallway that takes 30+ min to get through with over 30 people in line most sick coughing all over you. I just left and was the most sick i have ever been in my life. They shut the heat off in my building for 3 days cuz some people were cracking the windows. Never have i been so cold between that and the having to stand outside in lines for stuff in the mountains and at night. Walking all over the campus day n night. Mental health group was 45 minutes of joking about passing love letters between the guys and girls (no benefit to anyone) and right before i signed myself out a kid no older than 26 slipped on unsalted ice and most likely broke his back as he laid there unable to move they then decided to salt AROUND him. Whole place is a shit show

This was probably the worst experience of my life. I was admitted on New Years Eve and discharged after an altercation happened that I didn’t fight back in. I was assaulted, denied the right to call the police for over a day. Beyond that, there was rampant racism with the n word being thrown around, staff seemingly unbothered or having their hands tied due to superiors. Mitch, and Wendy are not fit to be clinical supervisors. When a client called home to tell them about this, the phone was hung up and Wendy called back and said these things never happened. A supervisor came and addressed things in the women’s community by undermining everyone’s concerned when the person who was being racist was attempted to be brought back up. Clients were shoveling, and salting. Women were being denied medical care from illnesses caught there at Cove Forge. The on call and grievance forms are not taken seriously. If you have a voice you will be discharged, or like my last time — Mitch will take your certificate the day before you complete, and tell you to call back in a month and then you have your certificate and coin. After 14 months clean, I relapsed and was ready to give cove forge another change because my therapist Bob, was wonderful. He still was this time, the only redeeming things this center has to offer is a handful of clinical staff. Most techs are untrained, confused and just call a code for a fight when they’re being asked questions they don’t know how to answer. Also, there was a dead body found on the men’s smoking area December 21st, and that’s being attempted to be covered up as well. If you care about your recovery, don’t go here.

I was discharged today for fighting a mental guy. It was mainly my fault for not being able to control myself with dealing with all the antics that take place there. Although this guy made sexual advances to me and other men and exposed himself to the women he was not discharged from the facility. Most of the counselors are great. Whoever runs the facility needs fired. It’s like being in prison with no guards. I was one of the most positive members of the community. I’m a veteran with ptsd and other issues and this place is only suitable for people coming from jail. Please don’t consider this rehab, all and all it’s horrible!

Nearly 10 years ago I was given a second chance at life thanks to the staff and administration of Cove Forge. Have remained clean and sober since August of 2014. Not only was I provided with tools for my journey in recovery but I was given an opportunity for aftercare. I was at the lowest point in my life and treated with respect and compassion. Cove Forge gave me hope! I am forever grateful. Thank you.

Not a place you’d desire to get clean… staff DO NOT CARE. Patients getting high on top of stealing from each other. Ghetto is an understatement. The detox is a trap house house keeping does not clean.. coved and bed bugs along with lice. Just know that this place will leave you with no tools feeling empty. Most mandatory patients Attend the physiatrist will drug you with all the wrong things… staff are like drill sergeants… no compassion or respect but demand you to only have 1 10 min phone call a week home…. Have to walk a lot but never on the beautiful trails not permitted near water only vending machines and store orders for cigarettes must bring all necessary things no out side food permitted.. will give u a hard time to leave. Just know this place should not be listed to attend should be shut down neighbors hate the rehab facility

If you want to get away from home to get clean where the Eagles soar and turkey vultures fly in the sky. If you like being in the fresh air in the mountains this is the place to go. They have a great activities department and staff. Activities includes the ropes, climbing, golf, frisbee golf, cornhole bingo. The clinical supervisor Teresa has an open door policy and was available to help all the time. The tech staff went above and beyond to make sure we followed the rules, and answer any questions IF you can't follow the rules there you wouldn't be able to follow the rules at home. If you want structure this is the place to go. The counselors are great, they taught me Choice Theory. They also taught me to be the best version of me that I could be, how to set boundaries and put my recovery first no matter what. They also have a great medical team there that seen to all my needs. The kitchen staff is great and the food is great. They have a nutritionist there as well. Graduating from Cove Forge gave me hope and still does. I have going on 6 months clean on 6/21/23

I absolutely loved Cove Forge, I would of stayed there for a lot longer if my insurance didn't run out. I was in the rehab part for twenty eight days, then I moved down to the partial program for over 70 days. Where you were on campus from 7am till 5:30 pm. After that,you went back to a big nice house with 13 other girls. Best place ever! They taught you so much, and we're very kind and caring about a lot of stuff. They gave you treatment work to do, and really help with your recovery. I highly recommend this place to anyone. As long as you follow rules, go to all your group, you'll do great!

Edit: coming up on 5 years ? forever grateful to this establishment Today I celebrate 23 months sober! Best thing that ever happened to me. The staff is awesome, most are also in recovery which makes the process more relatable. It's a large college-like campus with dorms (male and female dorms are on separate hills). Wake every day, shower, get ready for the day (bring your clothes and cosmetics, I recommend good shoes for running around campus too and a calling card.) Beautiful location too, great scenery. I even had seen a bobcat there one evening! The program is very busy, lectures, groups and so forth. I felt like I was in college. My life started here st Cove Forge, I can't say enough GREAT things about it.

So I’m just sharing my experience at cove forge. I loved my time there. I was blessed from the very start because my one roommate was a hunk and we both hit it off immediately! We had so much fun at groups together. I know a couple nights we went to town on each other during the night but we never got caught. It was almost like it was meant to be. Two queens bunked up together in rehab. The only downside was the one girl that works there with all the tattoos “i won’t mention names”. She was rude and very disrespectful. Honey you shouldn’t be wearing clothes like that at a rehab. The food was ok but i think i put a few pounds on my caboose from all the carbs.

Cove Forge was the best(& last--GOD WILLING) rehab I have ever been to. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is because during my last week there I had a VERY unsanitary guy move into my room and they would not let me switch rooms after I repeatedly asked day after day after day since he arrived. The Cove is similar to a college campus with numerous buildings spread out all over grounds where we live and have different groups at. They give us addicts a ton of freedom which is a taste of what we will face in society. They kept us pretty busy with just enough free-time which makes the days go by pretty quickly. Most of the techs and counselors are also addicts(who I learn and connect with the most) so they know what we are going through and how to teach/respond to us rather then learn from a book. The food was good except for a couple meals but I'm a picky eater. The nursing staff was great. We went to the gym twice a day where I worked out, played basketball, and played ping pong. We also had a concert every Friday where the music instructor and a few select clients would play guitar, drums, and sang/rapped. I had miss Wendy as my counselor and she was wonderful! The only thing that I didn't like about the place was that they did not allow us to have radios which I think music is a very important tool for those of us in recovery. I would definitely recommend the Cove to any sick & suffering addict/alcoholic. I attached the Men's weekly/daily schedule and my coins I received upon graduation.
