Purchased my Quadra-Fire wood stove from Kring's a few months ago. The whole experience from sales to install was excellent. The installers, Mike and Owen, were absolutely detail oriented and did an excellent job. Frankly, the amount of work for the labor charge was incredibly reasonable, IMO. They put down mats to protect the hardwood, cleaned up every spec of dust generated by the install and didn't stop from start to finish. If there was one nit to pick, it was the amount of time it took for the stove to arrive at Kring's from the manufacturer - something I believe was beyond their control. When I get too old to split wood, I'll have Kring's come back and swap in a pellet stove. THANKS to all and please pass this along to Mike and Owen's boss - great install team.

Kring’s is THEE place for pellet stove service and repair. We bought our pellet stove 12 years ago, and we use Krings regularly for servicing and maintenance. Recently, we needed servicing, but they were 6 weeks out. They diagnosed the issue over the phone, I purchased a part at their store, and they helped me to DIY fix it over the phone to save the money of them having to come out. Who does that anymore!? Thanks Krings!!!

We had John come out to service our 5 year old gas insert that we had purchased at Krings and he did a fabulous job. It's never looked so good. He gave us some quick tips that we didn't know and ordered some items that were missing/broken that were still covered under warranty. Can't say enough about their service and products. Thanks so much!

I had to schedule a service call to identify a problem I was having with my pellet stove. The technician Steve, was on time and very professional. He was very deliberate in keeping the area clean as he disassembled and worked on the stove. Steve took the time to very clearly explain what he did and what he identified as the reason for the service call and he even offered some advice to avoid a similar occurrence. The bill was perfectly in line with what I was told during my conversation. I really appreciate the level of professionalism from the organization, but more importantly from Steve. Next time I need to schedule service, either routine or emergency, I plan on asking for Steve to be my technician. Thanks Steve!

Worst service ever, from a manager no less! I walked in the Bechtlesville location looking for parts for my quadra fire castile and was treated incredibly rudely by management. I was looking for a wire adaptor for a convection blower, and the manager tried his best to not help me. One kind younger worker tried to help me by printing a schematic for the parts I needed , but was told to stop helping me because he shouldn't spend anymore time on me. Mind you I had been in the store about five minutes at this time. I showed the worker and manager the part on a quadra fire oem part, only to be belittled and told "ive been doing this 30 years." when I asked to be showed the part I needed instead , the young man kindly started to look up the part. Instantly the manager rudely snapped at the young man saying "We don't have it, their all on trucks." All I wanted was a picture so i could make sure i was getting the right part, but making a sale, and gelping a customer wasnt on the managers mind. The Manager doesn't care about the customer or customer service at all and should be removed. I can only imagine the amount of business he has already cost the location. I would avoid this location if you can. You've been warned!

We have purchased 3 pellet stoves and a wood fireplace insert from Krings over the past 15 years since moving to Pennsylvania. They have been so helpful and knowledgeable. From the sales team to the install technicians and the maintenance teams. Steve came to address a potential issue with our new pellet stove and did a thorough cleaning and troubleshooting. He stays focused on his task and even stayed to fire it up and make sure it is working correctly even though it was the end of the day. He could have done his job and left. Thank you to all of you at Krings.

These guys are the BEST! John and Steve came to my house From Kring's Hearth and Home, to clean my fire place and chimney, and repair a gasket. They were on time, friendly and very respectful of my home. They totally set my mind at ease. They were so quick with what they had to do and even spent a few minutes to meet my 3 dogs! What a great company to deal with! I will definitely be calling them again to set up a regular schedule for them to come out to clean my fire place and chimney every year. Thank you again for making me feel safe and helping to keep our family and home warm this year. John and Steve, you guys made my day! Thanks again.

Lou Millspaugh,McAdoo,Pa…. I purchased a Quadra fire wood stove from Josh Folk last April and fired it up the last 5 nights the end of October. I called Josh to walk me thru the start up of my new stove and he was extremely helpful! This stove is now a breeze to run and burns about 30 percent less wood to heat my 2000 sq ft. House than my old stove! Happy to see that krings hearth and home has such a knowledgeable and caring employee as Josh Folk to help people like me! Lou Millspaugh

Really appreciated the service provided by John today. He was thorough both in cleaning/freshening our fireplace and in explaining some good practices for keeping the fireplace functioning optimally. Thank you John!

We contracted with Kring's in early February '25 to retrofit our originally wood-burning fireplace with a gas insert. The initial visit went well, but were originally told by the salesman when we signed the proposal that “Limerick Township does not require permits”. He was emphatic that “only one township has ever required us to get a permit”. We were also told that by the gentleman that came out to do the site visit on 3/8. That turns out to be a bold-faced lie. I just didn’t see how any township would let a contractor cut into or modify a gas line, nor run electrical line, without a permit. And low and behold, that is EXACTLY what I was told by our township Code department. Just to “pressure test” that, I called every code office in a 25 mile radius and WITHOUT EXCEPTION, every single one requires a permit to install a gas fireplace insert to retrofit an existing wood-burning fireplace. Every one of them. When Kring’s was informed of this, multiple times I overheard that “permits should be the homeowner’s responsibility to pull”. How can a layperson homeowner fill out those forms? Plus, it is the CONTRACTOR’S work that is being reviewed and approved for Code compliance. I know damn well what went down because I’ve seen it before – Kring’s simply did not want to pull permits because it is a pain in the neck, and inspector oversite is also a pain in the neck, so lying to the client is the “easy way out”. And I get that. But look at it from the homeowner’s side (at least those with a conscience); I don’t want to pay more in terms of permit fees, sure, but I get to sleep at night knowing it was inspected and done according to code. Was Kring’s gonna bail me out if we didn’t get permits and some nosy neighbor called me on it, which doubles the permit fees after the fact in most townships? Oh, and my insurance agent said that if we do unpermitted work and a fire investigation shows that work to be the root cause, he told me that the probability of a declined insurance claim is "99.999%". Would Krings have paid to rebuild the house, if we even survived the blast? Places like this also just don't get the fact that, other than OBEYING THE LAW, they would have been more efficient. We were told that this would be a "4 hour job". But in reality: 1. Gas line install - 2 guys for 4 hours, then instead of the gas inspector being lined up to be on site, he needed to be scheduled for the next day. 2. Electric line install - 2 guys for about 3 hours a few weeks later, then, you guessed it, "I think all we need is a final inspection, he will be out tomorrow, the township waived the electrical inspection". 3. Kring's is back out the next day, 1 guy for an hour or so, with the "final inspection" inspector who, yup, says "where's the electrical inspection? No U and O before you get that". 4. Kring's is back the following week with the electrical inspector who, you guessed it, found the electrical work OUT OF COMPLIANCE with current codes and needs a part. Another man-hour down the drain. 5. Kring's is back out later that week to finish the electrical work CORRECTLY, with the electrical inspector. Another man-hour down the drain. So that's around 17 man-hours, SEVEN total visits to my house over nearly 3 months, and Kring's is left with a pissed-off ex-customer WHO WAS LIED TO. I’ve offered to have a conversation with the GM there to align and gain insight, and maybe save the relationship. You guessed it...crickets. So...Kring's gets 1 star!

Had a stove installed last week. Experience was pretty solid overall, except I can't help but notice the piping on the inside is not quite plumb. I get that it still is functional but the ocd in me would have not have been happy had I done this myself. Bill S Edit: faith restored. They reached out immediately to try to make it right. Still pending resolution. Mostly resolved. They made sure the interior was plumb. Exterior chimney pipe is not quite plumb. They are looking to fix that as well. So just beware. After fixing. They are now saying I need another roof bracket to keep the chimney straight. Why wasn't this included in the original quote? The wind has blown it crooked within a week.

We bought this and would stove back in Feb. The stove itself is great, but I am disappointed with the installation work. The piping outside is crooked. I believe my husband complained about it, and nothing was done.

Complaints about Krings Home and Hearth primarily center around poor customer service, lack of accountability for issues with installations or repairs, rude behavior from staff, and difficulty getting problems resolved, particularly regarding fireplace and stove malfunctions where they are accused of not standing behind their work and attempting to blame the customer for issues. Key complaints include: Unresponsive and rude customer service: Many customers report experiencing unhelpful and rude interactions with Krings staff when trying to address concerns or schedule repairs. Poor quality installation and repairs: Complaints about improper installation leading to problems with the fireplace or stove functionality, and inadequate repair attempts when issues arise. Blaming the customer: Customers allege that Krings technicians often try to blame them for issues with their fireplaces, even when the fault lies with the installation or product. High costs and lack of transparency: Some customers feel that Krings charges excessively for repairs and lack transparency regarding pricing and the scope of work needed. Failure to resolve issues: Multiple complaints mention that Krings often fails to fully address problems, leaving customers frustrated and with non-functional fireplaces. Update, going to cost is over 5,000 to correct all their mistakes! I wished the owner would read this!! Please do not hire this company for anything...such a shame that Kevin told us to go pound sand. Please tell me how this isn't breach of contract...used this stove for 4 months! Please tell me how this company gets away with treating their customers like this!

I really like Krings, and have been a customer for almost 20 years, however, almost every winter season is fraught with frustration. Just when it seems like, no matter what you do, there’s always one more thing to do, you make the decision to buy a pellet stove. Sure, it’s taking on another job, and no, you wouldn’t volunteer to clean your neighbors stove, or carry their 40lb bags of pellets, but, you’re, “Sticking it to the Man” by not burning oil, and you’re saving money. But, what happens to me, almost every winter? The stove malfunctions. How long does it take for Krings to look at it? Usually, between 3 and 4 weeks. What happens, in the meantime? Besides praying that they have the parts necessary for the repair, I, reluctantly, resort to burning oil. Sure, it’s great, because it’s one fewer thing that I have to babysit, but when I’m spending more money to heat my house, for almost a month. I get upset.

Had a gas fireplace installed today, beyond thrilled with it! The entire process from the showroom visit, quote, site survey and install was fantastic. Everyone we dealt with was polite, professional and took the time to explain everything and answer all of our questions. The install techs even took photos and showed us pics of our chimney and advised us of unknown issues we didn’t know where there. 10 outa 10. Won’t hesitate to use them again!

Had Krings come to service my gas fire place. First thing I thought was strange was they requested a deposit over the phone for the service call. Never heard of such a thing but ok I need my fireplace fixed. They show up on time on the date agreed to. the tech looks at the fire place and says that we need to replace the valve and the igniter. Ok lets order the parts and get it done. I receive a call a couple days later to pay the balance of the service call. I do so and then am told that they cannot get the replacement valve and am told I need a whole new insert at a cost of 7000.00. I decided too see if i can find the valve and there it is the exact same valve on amazon. I replaced tye parts myself and 200.00 later fireplace running like new. Can you say bait and switch. Classic case. I suggest staying away from Krings. See pics

Bought a new JOTUL woodstove, from Krings, installed it myself. Fans were excessively noisy. Called them to ask how to fix. Offered no solution. Took fans out to clean them. Realized they were never installed properly. Also bottom trim piece was missing fastening hardware. Once I reinstalled them properly they were quiet. Cheaply made fans eventually stop working. Called to ask about replacement fans, all they had to offer was the same crappy fans for about $1000.00 and they would install for an additional service call fee. Found them OEM new online for less than 1/2 the price. Never again will I go there or ask them anything!

Really nice show room! The employees took the time to explain their products and give their honest opinions. Received a quote within a half hour after leaving. We even received a follow up phone call a few days later. Unfortunately, it's just not affordable right now. The price for installation was twice the price of the actual stove. Going to have to wait on this one.

I needed to replace an old coal stove and the staff from Kring's were very professional, helpful and suggested a new Quadrafire pellet stove. Ordering, install, financing and removal of the old stove all went off without a hitch. We love our new stove!

I just had a new Vermont Castings wood burning stove installed by Krings. My entire experience with this organization was pleasant and professional. Everybody I spoke with was knowledgeable, and guided me through the process of choosing the appropriate stove of my home. The installers arrived promptly when they said they would. The work was efficient, thorough, professional and neat. When they finished with the installation, they cleaned up after themselves and fully explained the operation of the new stove. I will not hesitate to recommend Krings to anyone looking for a good experience in buying a new wood burning stove!

They installed a propane fireplace in our house and it has worked great since 2005. They offer a deal every spring for a discount on annual servicing. We also had a new awning installed by Kring's. We have always been pleased with the service we received on installs and for maintenance.
