Had a full loaded semi on lebanon church road not DOT legal. Rt rear dual tire had about 20 psi (vs 85-100) in it. I called it went to vm then hung up.
I know they haul scrap thats sharp & punctures tires but they need to do better pre trips before that gets out on the road. #6246
The people here are very nice and organized, despite the place looking like a mess (it's a scrap yard, that's expected). Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
When you pull onto the scale at the entrance, go up the steps to check in. If you don't have a hard hat, they can lend you one. Safety vests are also required.
The wait to be unloaded is long, since there's only one ramp. There's a lot going on in the yard, but they try to get you out of there as soon as they can. There are employees there to guide you.
The railroad tracks are very active here, so don't stop on them. I recommend stopping at the first set of tracks and walking over to the bend to check if there's room for you to pull up without stopping on the tracks. Otherwise, if there isn't room, you'll have to back up and wait there anyways.
After unloading, there's a sweepout area up ahead. To exit the yard, open wide from the sweepout area and make a sharp left, follow the road straight ahead (that white building should always be on your left), and at the stop sign, open wide and make a sharp right. You'll immediately come upon the scale house to exit.
May me a little congested. Showed up a few minutes before opening @7a. A lot of traffic. Truck line was to the road.I was maybe the 12th truck in line. Very professional staff. Organized chaos Check in to check out 3 hours.
It's a scrap yard, wear your safety gear. Folks here are nice and expect the rules followed. I had no trouble as a driver and would take a load back should the opportunity arise.
Lazy as well as rude. Called to verify that they would unload my trailer with a magnet or grapplers. They said yes, that was a lie. I get there and one of the employees refuses. Because it wasn't a semi trailer, they wouldn't give me the time of day. Never again
Tin can Dry can load unloaded quick. However to all coming here, since covid you MUST BUY YOUR OWN HARDHAT. They do not loan and will turn you away with your one. I got lucky and asked a guy behind me. Other than that busy.
Truckers ovoid this place here 7 semi trucks are waiting in line no body pay attention to make it empty ,people are so rude dirty place carful with your tire
Truckers, very professional staff that'll help you navigate the yard. It'll probably take longer to sweep your trailer when compare to the swift unload. After exciting the scales, there's space available to stop and check your tires.
Made a delivery to these guys. They were very helpful getting me to where I needed to be. Watch out for remote control train. I'd also check your tires over really good before hitting the highway. Lots of scrap metal laying around.
