If I could check negative stars I would. I took a load of steel there and the guy working the scale was miserable. Rude doesn't begin to describe the customer service I got. He accused me of mixing tin in with a load of aluminum that he SAYS he remembered my truck dumping; saying that my Company was there a few weeks ago and tried to mix tin with aluminum. I confronted all of my guys about it then called to ask for documentation prooving that my truck was there, but they couldn't provide that because our truck was never there.
So if you want to get ripped off on all the scrap metal you saved, get sneered at and accused of something you know nothing about, and leave ticked off, insulted, and questioning your friends go to American Steel Processing.
I will never go there again, and I won't forget the way that dude talked to me thinking I was just another person scrapping metal. Don't judge a book by its cover, buddy.
He WILL rip you off. I get 4,000lbs. in my hoppers every time. Took it to him a few times and only got 3,500lbs (by his scale that you can't see). Went to another yard after that and there was 4,000lbs. every time. Others that I know have had the same experience. Steve will rip you off.
Little bald guy in the office is a scam artist he will try to rip you off and acts like he doesn't even want to come out to check and see what you have
Interesting place, the staff were helpful & friendly. Piles of shredded metal, crumpled cars, and railroad car pieces being mailed & moved heavy machinery & magnets. Watching car windows fracture as a giant claw crushed the top of a car was pretty damn cool.
