What clients say about Copart - Portland North in Portland (OR)
Drove over 30 minutes just to get my house and mailbox key from my car key chain since my insurance determined my car is totaled. I called before making the drive and they said I just need to come scan a QR code to mark my place in line. Waited over 20 minutes in my car like the sign says to do. I ended up going inside to try talk to someone and they’re not even going by the virtual line so that was a huge waste of time. Once I get to the front of the line, he tries to tell me there were no keys with my car key. Then goes speaking to the manager or whatever and I can just hear her saying “i don’t know” then he comes back with a story about how the keys are with someone that’s on lunch. That I can wait for them for 45 minutes or come back tomorrow. Dumbest experience ever.
Absolutely THE worse experience ever! I was selling a vehicle with them and they have terrible communication. Don't get back to you about whether or not vehicle was sold. Vehicle ran five times but they charged me for six times. Picking up vehicle was absolute nightmare. They had me go around and around, call several phone numbers and nobody knew what they were doing and what the process was getting my vehicle back. Ended up going to the office and wait for over two hours to get my vehicle.
Hispanic girl at the front desk treats people like absolute garbage. Very disrespectful and rude.
Point is - DO NOT use them to try and sell your vehicle. Total chaotic scam, an embarrassment not a legit company.
Called ahead to make sure I did not need to bring a forklift for a trailer I purchased. Was told that they could load it no problem with their fork lift. Drive an hour to get there and they tell me “We are no allowed to load trailers. Not sure who told you that but it wasn’t us.” Absolute waste of time especially when I called to confirm I didn’t need to bring my own forklift.
Absolutely terrible service. I purchased a trailer and scheduled a pickup a week later. That day comes around and my baby was born. I called to see if I could reschedule and told them if not that I could have a friend come pick up the trailer. They told me they would wave the storage fee if I brought in proof of my child’s birth. Come in the next week and they won’t stand behind what they said and charge me storage fees. Do not ever buy from here. Terrible place that lies.
Buyer beware, this place is nothing but scammers. We bought a “run and drive” Murano, which by their description was green light and “moved forward under its own power.” We go to pick it up and it won’t even move forward or reverse. This is what COPART calls run and drive? I don’t believe it ever moved and will be suing for misrepresentation if I don’t get a refund.
Worse company I've ever dealt with! In my entire life I have never seen a more disorganized company than this. I've spent over 5 hours trying to get a car. 1st would let my bank card go through. #2 tell me to go get a cashiers check, so I get one then tell me they don't accept U.S bank cashiers checks. #3 set pickup time get a email saying my schedule pickup but didn't go through on thier end they claim. I show them the email they sent me!!!! Tell me they have to re schedule to 1:PM. #4 go to pickup car couple miles from my shop and they won't let me drive the car but no one told me that and have picked up tons of driveable cars in past. #5 now I have to reschedule with my driver to bring to truck but he has to reschedule.
This company doesn't have any organization.
Horrifying customer treatment.
And the manager, fire that Karen immediately or this place will go to the ground.
She is full of hate and anger.
Absolutely no desire to help you, or even try.
Staff is friendly.
Experience was poor.
I physically made 3 trips to their office related to a total loss insurance claim. Countless phone calls on top of that.
Each time I asked if they have everything the needed and each time I was told everything was completed.
The entire process started on September 5th. It is now September 19th, and I hope that everything is indeed in order. I was Originally told that the entire process would be complete in 2 days.
Monique was amazingly helpful! Instead of giving me a vague description of where a vehicle was located (as most Coparts do), she had the loader bring it to the front area so that I could quickly and easily conduct my inspection 👍 Thank you Monique!
I did not appreciate how the company kept contacting me even after I told them I wanted to retain my vehicle. They wanted me to sign my title over to them so they could tow my vehicle away to an auction but I wanted to keep my vehicle and did. Copart even had the audacity to try to trick me to giving them power of attorney which I thought was disgusting. They tried to capitalize on my misfortune of being in an accident and the accident wasn't even my fault. The other driver was found at fault.
North Portland Co Part SUCKS 👎🏻
Drove 3hrs to pick up a vehicle we purchased just for them to tell us that the yard is closed. When Trav asked why he didn’t receive notification of that, she tells him “oh we don’t do that”
So now we make the 3hr trek back home pissed off & empty handed. They’re a joke. The GM & regional manager was the least amount of help as well.
Hundreds of dollars in diesel spent, plus the loss of a days wages to make the drive up here.
Do better Copart
Purchased a truck through copart the listed as clean title. When I got the title it was salvaged. The title was dated 3 months be for the sale date. They knew it was salvage title and listed as clean. The girls up front are slacking at their job. Also when I came to pickup the truck 2 days after the sale and gave them heads up I was coming the truck was not on site and was told to come back later. But was not to worried about charging a storage fee. Please step up!
I am a dealer here in Vancouver, coparts rep Tom reached out to me a month and half ago about running some trade-ins/ old units he made everything sound good. Took about eight units from me never heard from him for 2 weeks very hard to get a hold of. And now they’re holding my vehicles and asking me for fees when they weren’t disclosed or brought up to me he told me that there was no fees if we didn’t sell them, and I only had to pay money for shipping or towing…. now it’s taking me forever to reach a manager to get my cars back I don’t know if this is some type of scam are they going BK and holding units ? What is going on Dealers beware of Tom He is new and just trying to earn everybody’s business by taking your vehicles and then charging you fees get something on paper or even better don’t deal with them whatsoever
Premier member. Did the online line thing, was called to the counter only to wait behind a few other people. No hustle here at all. No one asked anything. Just need to pay for a car have cashiers check in hand. Something that should take 5 minutes tops (after I’ve already waited in their online queue), is taking way too long. This kind of stuff alone makes me want to take my business exclusively to iaai.
I drove 350 miles to the Portland location to pick up my vehicle today just to have to drive 350 miles back home empty handed. I got there at 4:13pm and was told that I needed to make an appointment to pick up my car and that they can't make anymore appointments after 4pm. I understand that this is the policy and I'm fine with following the policy. What I'm upset about is not being able to find any information about how to set up an appointment on the app or the website. The only useful thing I did find on the website was the operation hours. I'm not a dealer, I'm some poor sap that is buying a car at auction because I can't afford it otherwise, and now I'm out almost $300 I had to spend just to be denied pickup of my vehicle... and since I had already paid for it, it is mine. I also had to take the day off work to make the 12 hour round trip. I called customer service, they said there is some sort of link to click on for setting up a pickup appointment, but I looked after getting home and still can't find anything to click on. I was also told that there is a separate app available for scheduling pickup, which seems to be somewhat asinine that it's not just part of the regular Copart app. I feel taken advantage of.
don't buy from them, this company is a scam , they have ways to steal you.
I tried to bid on a car and suddenly the webpage turned off to another page and I found myself putting money on different cars not the car I was bidding in first page, I called the customer service the woman who answered my keeps putting me on hold until get disconnected.
I tried to email one of the managers and I told him do something, he refused.
he said you win a car and you have to buy, I told him how is that possible? I don't want it,I was bidding to another one.
he refused and he took the car and wants me to buy money for the company.
I called the police.
Horrible customer service. Just one person working the front desk when they could have 4 stations going. This place is basically the DMV with the same lack of service or speed. They don't accept debit cards and cash has to be exact amount. They have a virtual que because it will take forever for them to help you. And you have to make appointments just for them to bring your car out for you. Don't expect to walk in and get quick service or to even accomplish your task.
Their line client makes you sit forever. It says 5min. Then switches to 30. Then back to 5. And so on. Basically their system lets premium customers cut forever, so good luck trying to pick up your car on time.
Edit: I came back a week later with over two hours of time and the same exact thing happened. When I first showed up my wait said 8 minutes. It’s now been over an hour and the wait is down to 7 minutes. I went inside to inquire what was happening, and was rudely told that I should have expected this if I didn’t come in monday-Wednesday. What is the point of being open if you can’t actually serve a customer.
Absolutely horrible customer service! One of the worst locations across the country. Show up within your appointment window to pick up on a Friday, follow the rules on their new app and they just cancel your vehicle. Drove down 3 hours from Seattle, got here at 4:10 after being told they are open till 5. Then the load "appointment" gets canceled while I'm in the office getting my title. On military orders in Seattle the next week, so guess what.....they get another $130 in fees out of me on top of another lost day of work to take leave and be here to not get my car. Not even an apology, just a twisted smile at the situation as if the lady got some twisted pleasure out of screwing people over.
2nd vehicle I purchase from copart..always friendly help and great deals. The 2 vehicles I've purchased were brought out in a timely manner. My wait hasn't been long like I read in other reviews. I recommend using copart for your auction needs
You can spend a day there before you will get your car.
Just be prepared
Super slow. Like really really slow.
Woodburn location way better managed and a lot faster.
I guess this one needs management and stuff update.
We buy and transport lots of cars but Copart North is a hole 🕳 where you can loose all your important and expensive TIME .
They have a virtual line that really makes it easy to stay safe during these times. The restrooms are closed for safety but there is a portable outside just in case. I am in awe of how organized things are at the front desk. The employees take a lot of guff from people and I have so much respect for the patience and customer service levels at Copart- I'd want to slap someone if I worked here.
I bought an old truck on purpose. The truck was described as running and driving....and it was after a battery and new tire. Other than that I feel like I got what I paid for. I paid for delivery and it was delivered 3 days after I bought it. I thought I would get a call a day before or something but I didn't. I got a call from the driver saying he was an hour away. It turned out he was like 2 hours away but that's cool, I was just happy it got delivered that fast.
The driver did an excellent job placing the truck exactly where I wanted as well. Would I buy from this place again. Yes. Can they improve on communicating delivery...yes. But you're also saving a ton of cash so I'm good with it.
