About G&R Auto Wreckers and Pick-A-PartG&R Auto Wreckers started in Salem Oregon in 1964 by George Standish; later purchased in 1980 by brothers Gary and Robert. Pick-A-Part Auto Wreckers was introduced as part of the G&R family in 1988 to better serve our customers needs. Today one of the largest growing auto recyclers in Oregon still continues to be family owned and operated.
It’s a junkyard, the best one in town! Sure, many automotive neophytes whine in these reviews, but from the prospective of a car guy, this place is great! So what that they charge a two dollar entry fee, who cares that they don’t know exactly which cars still possess which parts for availability, compared to ANY other self-serve auto salvage options, this place rocks. They are the only salvage option in town that allows YOU to pull an engine. The other clown shows pull all engines and mark them up ridiculously. Take it from me, a fleet manager for a local municipality, there is no better auto-wrecker in town, hands down.
These guys were amazing and the yard is very, very organized. They even let me make sure the part fit and offered to let me bring it back if it didn't fit. I would totally give them business again.
I feel like I have been scammed. I was looking at a transmission that was listed on their eBay, I asked a few questions, and made an offer on the price. They responded with their counter offer, and a few days later I responded and agreed to their price. Then they told me the price we had agreed on was a limited time offer that had expired, and then they raised the price on me, even though they had not told me it was a limited time offer. I tried to persuade them to sell it for the price that we had agreed on, but they were very stubborn. Eventually I gave in and bought the transmission for their inflated price.
I was provided a tracking number, and watched the tracking for several days. The shipping was through FedEx, but as the tracking showed, FedEx had still not actually received the package. Several days after I had bought it, I received an email saying the transmission had been damaged in shipping, and they would send a full refund. Something about this seems off. First of all, FedEx never received the transmission, so how could it have been damaged in shipping. Second of all, it would take a lot of force to damage a transmission to the point where it is destroyed or unusable, and I have a hard time believing this story.
I won’t speculate as to what I think is actually going on, but overall just a bad experience with the sellers being unfair, and likely dishonest. I will give it to them for offering an ok price and free shipping, but I would not bother buying from them.
They "pulled a part" for me, charged me for it, but it was not there to pick up.
I called the day before to confirm that my part was ready to pick up because it's a long drive. I drove to the location, the part wasn't there, they had me wait an hour for it to be delivered and it never came!
Complete waste of time and money.
It takes so long to find something out here because there’s no organization they just tell you what row to go to and they don’t inventory half of their crap. On top of that if you show up with a tool bag that has straps like a backpack, they won’t let you bring it in, even if you let them search it. But if you bring a regular tool bag, no problem.
Drove 107 miles to this place they quoted me 30.00 for a blower motor if I pulled it out then when I showed up and pulled the part they doubled the price on me. I will never come back here again. For that price b and r will ship to my house.
First time here . Needed a part for a buddy’s car . Easy to find on the lot and the customer service was outstanding . Highly recommend ! Make sure and call ahead to see if they have similar car to what you are after makes it easy
I have called twice now for different parts. Inquiring if they have the part and how much it cost. Their prices are outrageous. I informed the guy I can buy the same part brand new for less than what they were asking, he just responded by saying so. very rude customer service.
I needed the screw that holds the coil pack on to the motor of my F-150. Dealership wanted $22, Saul let me go in the yard and find a replacement for less than 10%! Great prices and friendly folks! Thank you Pick-a-Part!
I went in today and found all the major pieces I needed for my Durango and at nearly 3rd the price of if I ordered them on line. Saul is the best customer service rep I was so happy I didn't know how to act.

Went in for my 2003 ford expedition looking to get a bunch of just little cosmetic stuff to fix they had everything I needed great place I'll definitely be back

Props to these guys. I called what I believed BnR auto wrecking for a wheel. There were some initial snafus with the phone call but eventually we got things set and they called me same-day for a pickup. Went to the BnR location and they were unabashedly rude. Once they determined I was in the wrong spot they directed me around the corner to Pick-A-Part. The wheel was waiting and the fellows at this location were cool as all get out. Props! I'll definitely be using them in the future for oddball older model parts.
I always find what I need . The staff is very friendly and they keep the place squeaky clean . The yard is clean I'm surprised there isn't any trash on the ground
Went in for a small shift linkage component, and the kind gentleman at the counter let me have it no charge. All he said is to leave a good review so here I am. I desperately needed this part and they came through for me. Great service.
These guys are so helpful and organized! I needed to replace the driver side mirror of my car and the part from the dealership was $357. I called Pick-A-Part and they found exactly what I needed and pulled it for me same day for $55. They have locations all over Oregon and will direct you to the right spot for your part. So many great things to say about this location, have been going here for 17 years now and always happy with my results and experiences. Counter folks are always great and very helpful. Was kind of bummed when I recently found out that the age limit was 16 when I tried to bring my 14 year old to show her some knowledge since she has auto interest, even accompanied with me was a no go but I do understand liability. Thank you for years of great service and will forever continue to be a customer!
Buy on line, its less frustrating. I Called to be sure they had the part I needed on hand before I drove an hour to pick up the part. When I arrived they said they did not know if the had the tail light I needed, but I could pay $2 gate fee, just to go out in the yard and look to see if I could FIND the part. After paying the gate fee and looking around for over half an hour I found nothing. All the tail lights on hand were damage or missing. When I went back in and spoke to the staff, They finally looked in their computer and discovered they had one on the shelf in their warehouse. When I asked to see that part, they grumbled and went to look for it, found it on the shelf in a few minutes. I told them I wanted it, but now the price went up 30% over what I was quoted on the phone (plus the gate fee) because they had "pulled the part for me" from the shelf. By this time I had invested two and a half hours, and paid more than I could have ordered a new part online, shipped to my home. Disgusting.
These people are by far the nicest and most helpful I have ever dealt with I highly recommend Albany pick a part. They won't steer you wrong. Thanks again guys. I will be back..
