John Chambers’ video on here is not the same falls. Imagine my surprise when I saw the actual Toketee Falls. It’s beautiful but you can only watch the falls from a distance on a platform. Not sure if you can get to the bottom. There’s no pathway. It’s a bit of a hike, less than half a mile but with varied elevations, multiple flight of stairs, 120+ steps total. So be prepared. It was muddy and slippery when we went so it was a challenge. Was it worth it? It was to me.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls and surroundings I've seen in Oregon. The overall experience can be a 3-star or 5-star depending on your level of adventure. The falls is WAY WAY WAY better if you do the treacherous climb down to the bottom, but it requires a near-vertical climb down a dirt slope and dirt-covered rocks (see my photos). There are ropes along the way but I was surprised just how vertical the route is. It was dry weather when we went, but I could only imagine how dangerous it would be in wet conditions. In climbing parlance, it would rate out as relatively straight forward Class 3 scrambling (without ropes). You have to be comfortable (and physically capable) on this kind of terrain, but the reward made this one of the best waterfall experiences I've had. There is simply no comparison viewing the falls from the elevated platform, which has limited views, and does not come close to the same experience at the bottom, where you can see and feel the power of the water and the flowing river so much closer up. The views are 100% wide open and unobstructed from below, and offer incredible photographic opportunities. The surroundings of this waterfall (and the upstream river gorge), and the adventure getting to it makes this one of the best waterfall experiences I've had.

Very nice hike with some great fall colors. Roundtrip took us about 45 minutes, but that was with lots of stops for photos. Waterfall was beautiful! There are lots of rocks, roots and stairs so it’s not an ideal hike for those with uneasy footing. Dog friendly :)

Toketee falls is always gorgeous year around! I just wish they would clean the bathrooms better but that could have to do with funding cuts. They could also really do some patches on the giant pipe lol

Beautiful place to experience. A beautiful trail to become one with nature with use of the river and waterfalls. Wish the trail was not as challenging. Not wheelchair accessible. Trail way is challenging at times with tree roots, rocks, narrow pathways and stair case.

Short hike to a beautiful waterfall, but there are quite a few stair steps. You might see photos taken from the base of the falls, but you don't want to try to go down there - it is very dangerous. In the parking lot there is a huge wooden pipe with lots of spraying leaks. You can get your car rinsed off by dring under the spray!

This place is truly awe-inspiring and offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature. The short walk is well worth the effort, and the added bonus of being pet-friendly makes it an ideal destination for individuals and groups alike to unwind and revel in the beauty of the surroundings.

Amazing waterfall! I made the stop on the road trip and the trail was short- about one mile return trip. I went in August and it was quite dry but the waterfall was still flowing. The hike was pretty easy to do and there is a nice viewing platform to see the falls. If you are on the highway, it is definitely worth stopping!

Great hike. 1 mile RT. Lots of stairs but easy for us. The parking lot is small. The falls are beautiful. You can go over the railing and down to the waters edge but every year someone gets hurt doing this.

If you are not in shape the hike is a challenge but the payoff is WOW.... The amazing wooden pipeline is a wonder to see right away. The falls are outwordly . A must see.. Highly recomend..

Definitely one of the coolest waterfalls in OR. It's a short hike with a decent amount of stairs to climb, but well worth it!

Easy and a quick stop to see the beautiful waterfall ! It’s worthy and it takes us about 15mins to get to without stopping ☺️ Not heavy traffic on the trail

Absolutely beautiful! The walk to the main viewing platform is short with a few moderate stair climbs. I highly recommend making your way down to the base of the waterfall if you’re able to— the view and the connection are worth it. BE AWARE: the descent is very steep and slippery, so it’s not for the faint of heart. You’ll need good shoes, a good grip, decent upper body strength, and confidence with heights to make it safely down and back up. The water is freezing so get your cold plunge on!

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Oregon. Trail is well maintained but is considered a more difficult hike.

Parking for about 10 cars, bathroom and info boards at the beginning. No cost to park. As others have mentioned about 100 stairs going up and down, but the hike is short so doable for all ages. Lovely hike along the North Umpqua River. The trail starts wide, going the forest. I saw a few trilliums (please don’t pick as they take 7 years to grow!) Then the trail narrows as the stairs begin. There are a few viewpoints along the trail to stop and take in the river and some small cascades across the river. The trail ends at a beautiful platform where you get a high view of the falls. There is a bench you can sit on and lots of photo options. Stay on the trail as going on the other side of the fence could bring great harm or death. (The fence is there for a reason. ;) Pup friendly and a fun family outing. Well maintained trail too.

It's very beautiful to see this much energy flowing. It's intense! You need to wear comfortable clothes & good closed toed sneakers that allow you to climb stairs. There's lots of stairs. I have scactia on both sides. My mobility is not up to par, yet I did it, and it was worth it.

Get there early as the parking lot fills up super fast! It’s a beautiful hike and the waterfall itself is absolutely stunning. The viewpoint you may have to wait your turn to take a photo. There are a few steps on the hike.

The trail was relatively easy to trek. There were lots of other hikers going out to the falls. Now that the park service has finished the renovations to the trail, it's much harder to get to the pool. The views are wonderful. The secondary falls are worth going off the trail to see and hear. I spent more time looking at those and listening to them than I did at the primary fall.

Definitely one of the more popular falls in Oregon. The rock formation as a result of the water corrosion makes it look unique. There is a short hike to the viewing platform. The view from the platform is breathtaking. There are places along the creek where you can dip you toes if you wish. Finding parking during holidays can be a challenge.

Toketee Falls is a picturesque waterfall located in the Umpqua National Forest in southern Oregon. Toketee Falls is reached via a moderate hike and manageable for most visitors. However, one downside is that the viewing area near the falls can become crowded, limiting the time you can spend enjoying the site if there are people waiting behind you. This is a pretty popular fall and parking is limited however we did park next to the pipe and got a bit of a shower. The hike to the main fall and viewing platform is easy and the path is well maintained. There are a few spots along the way the main fall to stop take in the scenery and good photos. Also a good drone spot.

I was blown away by how beautiful it is. The trail is very well maintained and easy. There are a couple of sections that have stairs, so it is a little workout, but you will forget all about that once you get to the falls. This is the most beautiful waterfall I have seen to date. I went on a weekday in the afternoon so there was only one other car in the parking lot. Very nice and quiet.

The hike itself was very beautiful and right in the parking lot there’s this old pipeline that looks really magical and rustic. The view of the falls is from a viewing platform so you can’t get too close to it. But the hike up you go along the river and you can see all these mossy plants and trees that are very serene and pretty. Lots of steps and stairs but fairly easy hike

Beautiful place to see for sure. It was around 81 degrees. Little bits of mud here and there but other than that the hike to the falls was incredible! Lots of people with their dogs visiting as well. The only bad thing I can say about this area is the outdoor bathroom was really intolerant. The forest service must do a better job of maintaining the public toilet.
