Came here to celebrate a wedding of close friends! It was a beautiful and intimate ceremony in a magical setting. Yes it rained all day but the salmon shelter has space heaters and a wood stove that we were all able to stay comfortable and enjoy each others company. The ranger was so incredibly kind, supportive, and helpful! Support our parks!

I went here on my way home from a cabin retreat to stretch my dog's legs. So happy I did! I only went on the family picnic side, but there is also a group picnic side with playgrounds and sport fields.(See map pic) There is a beach, a cool underwater viewing chamber, lots of wheelchair accessible walking paths on the family side, trails to the group side. Lots of benches along the way. Shady with sunny breaks. Beautiful place! Day use is $5 for cars, $10? For vans CARD ONLY no cash

A great place to stop, have a little stroll and enjoy a picknick with great views. Very child and pet friendly.

This was for us a releasing of ashes. My aunt loved nature and this spot with the water and ferns. If you ever get the chance to go please do not question it just go it's absolutely stunning many different areas to see and just admire. Plenty of spots to set up for the day and hang out at the water

I've been coming here for decades and enjoy it every time. It's a quiet place to hike just off HWY 26. During the peak hours/weekend around the summer time can be crowded. However, there's plenty of parking to go around. There's a $5 entry fee (Card only) at the front entrance of the park. Be sure to display it on your windshield after payment. The trails themselves are paved and well-maintained. Some trails that lead to the Salmon Creek river are not paved. They're relatively easy to get to, but use caution. Dogs are welcome but must be on leash the whole visit. Additionally, there are on-site bathrooms throughout the area. The main bathroom is located at the parking lot. If you're interested in having a gathering or picnic, there are dozens of picnic areas with a charcoal grill and picnic benches. Throughout the park, there are trash bins for your convenience. Be sure to leave the park cleaner. There's an additional trail called the Wetlands which is also paved and has a boardwalk throughout the area. This displays the wetland nature of the PNW. If you and the family want to escape the city, enjoy peace, come to Wildwood. Grab a snack/lunch and stay a while. You won't want to leave.

My family lives about 15 miles from here. It’s our go to year round when we need a “green bath” away from city living. One thing we really appreciate is that our America The Beautiful lifetime pass works for the fees here even though it’s BLM land instead of a national park. Most of the time we just come to sit and listen. Most days we will see less than a dozen people altogether during two or three hours. When he was with us we would come with my dad’s wheelchair and never had any issues getting around with him.

Beautiful, quiet park with a trail system that's easy to navigate. Lots of places to picnic. Very clean.

Breathtaking. $5 dollar entry no cash only card. They have a cool fish observatory.

Nice long trail uphill after the wetland trail. I didn't make it to the top because of time. It is probably 4 mile up to the top only saw 2 other groups of people on my way down in a nice fall day. $5 to park. The viewing chamber for the pond had a lot of cute baby salmons.

Me and the husband and our fur babies really enjoyed this place. Great trails that were easy for beginners and great scenery! Place wasn’t busy with other people at all.

This spot has two "accessable" trails. The stream viewing trail is great but you will want to start at the acess point away from the bathrooms and acessable parking to actually hit the all paved trail there are many beautiful places to sit along this loop and I think it was quite lovely. The other trail we did was the wetland trail. This had some gravel sections to get to the paved and boardwalk section. The dire pack part of the loop trails while nit marked as accessible was easy to navigate on my power scooter. The boardwalk was a nice wonder but there isn't much to look at and the mosquito population was higher than on the other trail. The boardwalk caused quite the vibration on my scooter so make sure to tighten any screws or bolts after your ride. The section from the boardwalk to the trailhead to the parking lot was precarious while still paved and was the point where my scooter nearly tipped. Over all it was a nice day a d I would do it again. If you have an acessable America the beautiful pass. It's free for parking.

Such a nice park! There is a $5 fee to enter, but well worth the small price. Good parking, clean bathrooms, and lots of well maintained trails to walk. Good easy paths and we were able to see quite a bit of wildlife. Wonderful for kids!

Magical recreation area! Get an up close view of the fishies, explore beautiful NW trails and forests, learn about the eco system, and more. The Wildwood recreation site is cheap, has tons of parking, and is a hidden gem of Oregon. If you’re heading up to the mountain it should be a “must do” on the way up or down. It’s such an easy way to experience the beauty of the PNW forests and see the flora and fauna up close and personal.

Nice park. Big parking lot. Single stall bathroom. Tough hike for hikers (some of my photos are of the Boulder Ridge trail), wooden walkways through the wetlands for those with mobility needs and kiddos. I bought my parking pass the day before, so I'm not sure if there's a machine. There was a booth when I entered but no one was there. Some passes are honored, so check online.

Literally the best. I was pleasantly surprised by the paved trails that were available. Like they looked pretty accessible, some spots might be a little hilly. No weird angles in the paths that might cause a power chair to tip. Definitely worth checking out the boardwalk. The mountain path was fun, but steep. More than mult falls.

Took my kids here for a little adventure and they loved it the paved path was a nice plus. Lots of wild berries, butterflies, and birds. All the benches around the park have different carvings which is a cool plus. The open spots by the water is a major plus nice and relaxing

I feel like this place is an untapped gem of a spot! Wildwoods is a BLM managed park just 50 east of Portland. It’s situated on the salmon river, with river access at multiple locations. The grounds include a large field, baseball field, huge picnic shelters, ADA BBQ sites, playground, horseshoe pits, basketball courts, and volleyball! It’s group area is huge with plenty of parking! A small drive away is the nature walk/stream watch area. A quiet, meandering maze of paved trails, hidden picnic spots, river access, and a boardwalk over a wetland habitat with an educational vibe to it. The trails are all mostly flat, paved, and easily accessible for anyone, including those that have mobility issues. The picnic shelters are scattered in between wooded grounds so they feel incredibly intimate. There are a plethora of bathrooms, water fountains, and trash cans. I’ve never seen this place graffitied, dirty, in poor repair, or anything but peaceful! I think that makes the $5 parking fee per car well worth it for the upkeep. If you want to get away from Portland for the day but not be too far away, you will like it here. If you love nature hikes, picnics, playing in the river, homeschool field trips, or just a forest day, COME HERE! If you play POKÉMON GO, this place is a stop and gym hot spot. And did I mention the Stream Viewing Window?!? Also, it’s often 10 degrees cooler up here than in the valley.

We had our wedding in one of the shelters at Wildwood last weekend, and it was better than we could have imagined. This park is beautiful and quiet, and the hosts who manage it are very sweet and attentive, and they really worked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Everything was simple and went smoothly, and the backdrop was as gorgeous as Mount Hood itself!

Well maintained walking paths for people of all ages and abilities. The underwater viewing area is ok, but I would suggest a similar display at the Oregon Zoo. There are plenty of places to sit, as well as many picnic tables.

October 1 ... the Salmon are Spawning . What a perfect place to view the end and the ultimate new beginning of the life of the Salmon. The park located just off of US 26. , about 40 minutes east of Portland. The park has numerous paved walking trails , most adjacent to the Salmon river. The trails are shaded with dappled sun . This would be a great getaway on a hot Portland summer day. The park has a unique underwater viewing room which allows the visitor to gaze at stream life both above and below the water surface. The trails in the park are paved and well maintained. This park is definitely Handicap ♿️ doable and recommended. This park is great for children of all ages. Restrooms are available and clean. There are numerous benches along the trails. This a day use park only. There are several grills and picnic tables . There are signs explaining the ecology of salmon and the forest around the river. This park is a federal park so senior passes for free entry apply here . The are fees to enter this park for others but it is well worth the entry fee. Restaurants are available nearby outside park boundaries. Final take ... GO ,GO, GO. 2 HOURS OR ALL DAY. ....BUT GO.

Lovely clean park! Love the trails and walking around with the kids. The children's park was cool but they need to bring back the swings.

The most quiet spot available on the south side of the mountain. So many fuzzy trees! Wonderfully maintained trails with fantastic Nature all around. Best hour of your life you'll ever spend walking in the woods. And Ewoks too!

A Kid and pet friendly recreation site for hiking, picnicking, and enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of nature and its inhabitants. Friendly and helpful greeter. $5 for a day pass. There are numerous day picnicking areas throughout the Stream Watch Trail that are comfortable, clean, and offer adequate privacy. The Wetlands trail is a boardwalk trail and Stream Watch trail is a paved pathway to make walking and wheelchair mobility easier.

You will be given several trail options. We recommend the hiking path which states its 4+ miles and 3/4 hours bring water etc, (no hiking tools needed) especially during summer as we just hopped or jumped over the small streams you will cross during hike.. (4/5) small ones. But, If you like a little adventurous hike that's not overly difficult and you're in mediocre to moderate shape and can handle a good 1.5 hour hike you will be able to capture the image below! It's breathe taking and a wonderful place to reach!!! When you get to the wildberry salmon sign; don't give up you're only 15/20 mins away!!! Once you reach, there's lots of space to sit and catch your breathe, take in the scenery and relax before making the journey back down! Enjoy!

A friend let me know about this place when I was looking for things to do in the area. Great walking trail. It was fun learning about salmon and other wildlife that lived in the area. The bathrooms were very nice for that area. Loved the underwater viewing area even though I did not see any fish.

I love this place! Great paved trails along the river. Lots of shady spaces for picnics (with tables and grills) and spots to splash around in the water. There's also a nice salmon viewing area. This place is well kept and clean. Great spot for kids and families.

Perfect for families! We just visited this park last weekend and walked along the interpretive trails for several hours. The river, park and trails were the perfect way to enjoy an early spring day. The cloudless sky even gave us the opportunity to see Mt. Hood. My 6yr old and teen boys enjoyed slowly navigating the paved trails that led us down to the waterfront in the day-use area. Fantastic area!
