Predatory pricing for 3 mile tow from unsigned school lot. Our vehicle was parked overnight from Friday night to Saturday morning where there was no signage indicating that cars would be towed for an event starting at 7am the next morning.
This company doesn’t care that they are charging $150 more than they would for a private party tow of the exact same distance, from lots without adequate warning signage. Photos attached.
When we arrived to retrieve the car, they were leaving and told us they had to go help another customer and would be back in a few minutes. They made us wait 35 minutes to pay and still charged us the full predatory price. Who leaves one customer who wants to pay to go take care of another? A predatory business that already has your vehicle as collateral and just wants someone else’s money because they know they already have yours.
Great service. They arrived quickly, and got us hooked up and on our way without delay. The driver was very efficient and professional and very courteous. We got a ride to the shop, and his truck was nice and clean as well - nice bonus. Definitely would recommend them highly.

Long story short: we live on the Oregon Coast, and have a sick cat who was at the university veterinary hospital undergoing treatment for several days. We were very stressed about that, and drove over to visit her on Saturday. Our car broke down in Philomath. A call to Charlie's Towing and Dustin responded immediately, took down our info and location, and was there in 20 minutes. He got us towed to the dealership service center, waited while we got checked in, and gave us a lift down the street to the car rental office just before heading out on another call. We were able to visit our sick kitty and get home safely. Thanks again, hopefully we won't need towing anytime soon but if we're in the area and have an emergency you'll be our first call.
Charlie’s Towing & Recovery were absolutely the most WONDERFUL locksmiths for me today during the snow storm. I had locked my keys in the car, and they showed up earlier than the estimated time, and it was WAY cheaper than any of the other stores I called earlier today. My car locked itself with the keys inside…running! A safety feature that failed! A glitch that had me late for work. Charlie’s towing, showed up asap. My car broke down today in the middle of a road with little room to get off to the side and they came to my rescue. The guys were super nice and helpful and got me and my car off the road quickly and nicely. I definitely recommend them if you need a tow!
My daughters boyfriend fell asleep at the wheel and rolled his car. Thankfully he was OK, but his car came out worse for the wear. Charlie’s is an extremely professional organization. They have a clean, current fleet, secure yard, and courteous drivers. The staff went above and beyond helping them and the helped me by assisting in loading the car onto a car hauler, at no additional cost. I would highly recommend this company for all of your towing needs!!
Used Charlie’s for a local job that turned in to a long distance haul. Every detail and expense was explained carefully and the job was handled efficiently and professionally. They worked with my son (college kid on very fixed income) on the expenses and helped us make the best of a bad situation.
They are the best in the business.
Charged over $500 to tow across town. That did not include $525 in storage charges. They swept up broken glass, absorbant granules and other debris from the street and threw an open trash bag of it all over the front seat and console. Then billed me $100 for "clean up scene" and denied having done it. I was there the whole time. Charged me $35 to drop me off at my house which was along the way. That I will report to the Corvallis Police Department who also offered me a ride contingent on their refusal. When I complained about fees and throwing street debris all over my leather seats I was ordered to get off the property.
The last time I got a tow it was from the rest stop between Albany and Salem where the tower hauled my truck to Corvallis for a total of $60.
Emergency responders send an open call for whoever gets there first. If it is Charlie's towing save yourself some grief and wait for the next guy.
These guys are awesome. 1st time ever having to be towed. My driver explained every step he was doing. Best towing experience. I only wish I can remember his name for this post. Thank you Charlie's Towing.

Carlos came and unlocked my car! I managed to lock myself out of my car while at work. Once i made the call he was on site in under 20min. He was able to get me back up and rolling in under 10min once he got on site. He was really friendly and professional. 10/10 would recommend them.
My son's alternator failed between Newport and Corvallis. It was night and my motor club (Allstate) failed to notify me that they couldn't find him a tow. After 90 minutes of waiting, I called Allstate to find out they left him stranded there with no help on the way. A bit panicked, I called Charlie's Towing. He quoted me a price and his truck was there in about 30 minutes. When the tow ended up being a bit further than he quoted, he did not increase my price but charged me exactly what we had talked about before the tow. I'll be calling them again if I need a tow in that area.
Great Tow Company to deal with. Used them twice in the last month to rollback unload machinery from a semi trailer. Called in from Out of State to arrange it. Real easy to deal with, on time, quick, great communication, excellent rates - and made my company look pro. Thank you Ron and John.
They abandon vehicles in the St Johns neighborhood in Portland. Apparently dropping off multiple wrecked cars with no license plates in residential neighborhoods is normal practice for them.
I've seen their trucks transporting vehicles in my neighborhood on multiple occasions and the vehicles always end up being abandoned on the same street. Last night I caught them trying to drop off three abandoned vehicles. I called the police but they drove off before the police could come. If you see them trying to drop off abandoned vehicles in your neighborhood call the Portland Police Bureau non-emergency line so that they can be fined for using the streets as their dump.

Response to Owner: It was a truck with your company's name and your company's logo on it. Furthermore the truck driver got out of the truck to try to unload the vehicles before I called the cops, and was wearing a jacket with you logo. Looking at the Secretary of State's website there are two other Charlie's Towings in OR, but when I look around they have different logos. Someone is using your trucks to abandon vehicles in Portland. The review is staying up
I came down to Corvallis from Seattle for Christmas. I pulled up to the wrong building and proceeded to lock my keys in my car (first time in 7 years!). Called AAA and within 20 - 25 minutes Charlie pulled up. He was friendly and professional and had my car unlocked in less that 5 minutes! Great service! Thanks again to Charlie

I called my AAA and they sent out Michael S. From Charlie’s tow and recovery to help change out my spare because I didn’t have a tire iron and he did wonderful service! He showed up with the proper tools for the job to be able to have me done and on my way very easily within 20 minutes and had a positive easy going attitude the whole time. Thank you!!
Hi all, just got my van running again, thanks to Big Bob. He was awesome from both friendliness to helpfulness in getting my dead battery fixed. We went with a new battery and I’m good to go again, as long as I don’t play the radio too long without the van running.
John was amazing! My ball joint broke and my car was not mobile, it was in a spot that was not easy to move.
John accessed the situation and figured out how to load my car without causing further damage, and towed me to the nearest Les Schwab.
I appreciate how quick the response was and the positive attude John had about helping me.
