Even though this museum is tucked away off the beaten trail, it is definitely worth a stop. They have such a cool, HUGE collection of Cowboy memorabilia. The most I've ever seen. The gentleman that greeted me were a wealth of information to all kinds of things, especially about other museums and things to do in Oklahoma. Great southern hospitality. Also it's FREE so, please make it a stop on your next trip to OKC.

Drove to the Museum from Lake Murray on a Rainy day Saturday April 20, 2024 only to find a sign on door saying it was temporarily closed. We called before we went with no answer but that is not unusual. I would suggest whomever owns this add a message to their phone that picks up to say it is either closed or open.

Mom & her mother both graduated from high school, before turned into a Museum & post office. It was still called Berwyn when my grandmother graduated.

Wonderful place to visit. Show many of classic actors and actress. We visit every year! Don't cost to see, but do have a donation box this helps keep it going and functional! Worth it all!

Neat to see all the memorabilia. The gentleman running it that day was quite knowledgeable and kind. They accept donations for the museum, no arranged fee.

Lots of history reflecting his singing, movie and television career. Numerous bills (flyers) reflecting his career and several others, Will Rogers, John Wayne and Ritter to name a few. Easy access for all. You could spend atleast an hour, excepts donations, bathrooms available.

I took my son here when he was twelve. He took me back when he was thirty five. It was filled with great memories for both of us. I’m just afraid, as many of us get older, this museum will close. Freer and fewer remember Gene, Roy, and others. Very sad.

We drove for two hand a half hours to fulfill one of my mothers dreams to visit. Mom is 83 years old and has wanted to see this since she was 15. It said online it was open but got there and it was closed. So sad

It was an interesting little place, but nothing going on. Everything was closed and super quiet. We didn't see anyone else at all!

Very cool place to visit. N the middle of nowhere i literally spent 3 or 4 hours looking at all the pics of all the old famous country stars and western stars and movie stars and just old western memorabilia it was pretty amazing to see. Loved all the letters and stories of those who have donated and how they acquired such things. Just amazing. And the smell of the old building was very distinctive. Brought me back to my childhood school. It was one building housing kindergarten through 12 grade. Maybe 140 students in the whole school. So average of ten students per grade. The town was durant Mississippi. It was a town w a population of 400 back n the 80s. Now I think it's population is 700. As of 2021. Brings back allot of memories this museum and its artifacts. So glad I got to experience this.

This is a little known jewel of a museum. It was full of local history. I especially loved the display of Buck Hale's home owned saw mill. If you are looking for something to do with the family and are in the area, I highly recommend Gene Autry Oklahoma Museum. Step back in time and get to know the townfolk.

We got pics outside the museum. Unfortunately, the museum is closed until covid cases start showing improvement. Google says they're open but not yet.

Fabulous! Visited on Saturday, 3/14/2020! Very fascinating. Staff member, W. M., is very knowledgeable and professional, yet his down-to-earth manner made the visit a wonderful experience. I arrived about 3:30 and the museum closes at 4. ( next time I’ll go there much earlier). He didn’t rush me for time as he showed the various exhibits. I want to go back and spend more time and let him share his knowledge of the exhibits Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Dale, and other cowboys. This museum is one of the best! Admission is by donation and it’s worth donating a normal admission price to keep this awesome place open for everyone to see!

Drove out-of-the way to my destination just to find the door locked during open hours. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, whereas I live out of state.

It has lots of stuff from old westerns. My nephew loved all the memorbilia. He was in awe of all the old cowboys. If you have little ones in love with cowboys\cowgirls, this the place to be.

I love this out of the way quirky place. If you are a fan of the singing cowboys, this is the place for you. They have some weird hours so you might want to call before you drive there. It's donation only. No entrance fee.

Nice place to see. Has lots of 50's cowboy history. Some Ok history. Close to OKC. Close to other interesting things to see. The town seems to be dead which is sad. Little to build up or be there to help you. Mostly self serve.

I learned things I didn't know, like Jed Clampett from the Beverly hill-billies is also Barnaby Jones. And before those he was a singing cowboy.

This was a flash to the past and if you are a old cow poke and love cowboy things of the past, the cost is a free will gift and this place will give you a chance to get out of the car and stretch your legs and it is worth it.

This is a very extensive collection of western movie memorabila. If you remember the old westerns and the actors that starred in them, you will love this place. There are other types of dispays as well and a very nice gift shop. It's a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the time to visit. While you're there, ask if they have any sarsaparilla in the snack area. It's wonderful!
