I came in to get some fabric for an art project and found a pair of curtains that fit my needs. I had a $5 budget. I checked the posted prices and saw that curtains were marked at $2.99.
The curtains I grabbed had two panels. Each was on a separate hanger, but the second was hooked into the first, so they were connected. There was one blue tag on the top curtain that said "1 pair of curtains." When I got to the checkout, the lady at the register asked if I knew it was $2.99 per panel. I was not aware of that, but I said it was fine, as I only needed one panel. She then said, "But they are a pair; they go together!" I replied, "If you are selling them separately, I will take one, please." I asked if she understood why I was confused, as they were both together with one tag. I said it's like me telling you I am selling a pair of shoes for $50, and when you go to pay, I say, "It's actually $50 per shoe." ? She told me she was just following their policy. I honestly didn't mind just buying one; she was the one bothered. As the situation progressed, I became irritated because it made no sense. Had they been marked $6, I would've passed them up.
We both were respectful, and it ended on a pleasant note. This is just a heads up, apparently the sets, even when they put them together, are sold separately.

The woman at the register told me SHE put the curtains together as a pair and tagged the item that day (yesterday 1/18/26) she hung the 2nd curtain off the other and made ONE tag that said "ONE PAIR OF CURTAINS". Then told me I had to pay for each one separately. I am not sure what people swapping tags has to do with this at all? If you are insinuating I was trying to get the 2nd curtain free, you're dead wrong. I didnt even need both. Im cutting it up for a project.
Anyone else I talk to about this can understand the issue. Sorry, you cant. If you have cameras, I encourage you to go through and watch my entire 5 min in store. This isn't that serious. I used your store for materials because I make art. I can get cheap fabric elsewhere.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. Moving my mother-in-law out of her house and had a fairly full 15 foot Uhaul with furniture and odds&ends. Got it unloaded and pulled out after about 20 minutes. Highly recommend!
The bathroom here is a nightmare. A thick smell of urine covers the entire room. Definitely hasn’t been cleaned in a while. I had to hover over the seat because it was that nasty. The worst part: they had a BAR of soap for everyone to use. Downright disgusting. If I could’ve held it, there is no way I would’ve stepped inside it. Also, every time I visit, the staff is ridiculous. Not saying every staff is bad, but the ones that are, makes everyone else look just as worse. One woman was stomping around, cussing and shouting about her personal life and complaining about her job, while there were multiple kids inside as well. Mind you, she was grown enough to know better. Very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Unfortunately, due to these experiences, I will not return. I do not mean to talk badly about a store like Salvation Army. But these instances will turn people away from spending their money towards the charity.
You can take your extra unwanted needs here for others to reuse. Good place to take furniture clothes house goods and anything you can think that would help someone else’s needs.
Love this store. Very clean & a great variety of things to look at. The girls at the service desk are very friendly, helpful & always trying to put a smile on your face before you leave the store.
Prices are too high on most items - even higher than goodwill. Customer service is lacking as well. I was overcharged by $6.00, and when I asked about getting my money back, they said that only the manager could give money back and that I could only get store credit. I was disappointed, but figured it wasn't a total loss. My mistake, apparently. Today, I went to get a few things (4 items came out to $18.10!) and gave the cashier my store credit slip. She said that I would have had to give it to her BEFORE she rang the items in, and that I would just have to use it next time I come in. Well, after those two exchanges, there likely won't be a next time. It's just not worth the hoops to get a single ragged sweater in exchange for MY money that they are keeping from me while being forced to listen to terrible christian pop music. If I could rate 0 stars, I would.
I just wanna give a shoutout to the staff and whoever else helps clean up the absolute disaster of things that people just leave in the back of the building for these people to go through and clean up! You guys are AMAZING and it is not unnoticed. Every week I see mounds and mounds of unorganized things that people just throw back there, as if it is their dumpster.. and the next day it is completely cleared up. You guys are doing amazing work ? much appreciated!
The Salvation Army Thrift Store & Donation Center is a great place to donate clothes to and also buy some used clothes for your wardrobe. The employees were friendly. Located in Northwood, Ohio.
I like Salvation Army stores. I just don't like the use of staples to price their clothing. I recently came home and tried to remove the stapled tags, especially some that are placed wrong on delicate clothes and have put a hole in the item. Staples are hard to remove from clothes without ruining the item, and yes, I used a staple remover, but on delicate clothes, it just doesn't work. Other than that, they have great prices and are pretty friendly most of the time. I'm not really pleased with some checkout girls with airbuds in their ears while they are waiting on you. She was talking to someone, and I thought she was talking to me. NOT! That is rude.
Horrible customer service! Witnessed one employee who was very loud and rude to customers, and another employee make the excuse that she is like that with everyone. I will never set foot in that store again after the way I heard them treat the other customers. I don't care if you think it's ok to talk to people like that or not. She deserves to be fired. She was an old grouchy a&& woman!
These people are supposed to help people but the woman who was closing today was extremely rude had 10 mins til the store closed and I only needed shoes she refused to check me out and I was basically wearing rags when I walked in there im low income and disabled this place has preppy employees that don't finish their jobs close early and are rude and have no compassion for any besides middle/upper class people i will be boycotting the store reporting this Establishment to the bbb first thing in the morning.
Found a lot of good deals the only complaint I have is that they staple their tags right to the articles of clothing and it left holes in my clothing it when I try to take them out.
I absolutely Love this store and the staff is so friendly!! I almost don't want to share my secret, bit I must! You need to check it out! They're having a half off sale tomorrow. The whole store!!!!!
My favorite thrift store in the area. I go weekly and there's always hidden gems. The staff is full of sweet women and the organization of the store is greatttt.
This is really one of my favorite thrift stores in the greater Toledo area. It's very reminiscent of older original thrift store's that are not as common any more. The staff is nice enough, the racks are not too tight, overall the store is organized and fairly clean. The prices are great too, lower than goodwill, especially half off Wednesdays. I found some real treasures here over the years-real vintage & retro items. It's worth the drive because you never know what your gonna find at this salvation army.
Love the crew and the store, just wish it was cleaner and not falling apart. Be nice if they fixed this store up. At time it can be way over priced for what it is.
Prices are way to high.if I wanted to pay $9.99 for a shirt then I would buy a new one.get it together.this is suppose to be a place for people to buy things they can't afford brand new. I have also seen clothes in there with the original store price on them and they price it higher than the original store price. How is that helping anyone.
Got to store with 20 minutes till closing time with truck FULL inside and out just to be refused to donate anything. ? they told me I could leave it outside and they would get it tomorrow. What the hell, if frost gets on all this furniture and baby swings, bouncers, strollers etc. It will be ruined. Really disappointed that they wouldn't take it.
I love this store! We go here when searching for certain items and walk out with more than what we came in for. They have a lovely assortment of homecoming and prom dresses there also at a very reasonable price. Great store with great prices and can ALWAYS find something that I could use!!
