What clients say about Village Salvage in Waynesville (OH)

I drove for hours to visit this 1 of 1 store, and if you need vintage hardware restored, this is your place. Our family desperately needed our vintage mortise locks restored due to the safety risk it was posing to our special needs child, and a heartfelt gratitude goes out to these people. The staff are wonderful, including Debbie S. at the front-of-house. At back-of-house, Eben was a miracle worker. He went above and beyond to restore and key our locks during the compressed timeframe I was in town. Not only was Eben’s craftmanship outstanding, but his communication and customer service made the entire process so much easier. He gave me options between form and function, and offered me knowledge I could take back home. The staff here strike me as people that genuinely want to help, and Waynesville is lucky to have them.

Village Salvage is the go to place for antique locks and hardware, you won’t find a better place. We purchased a refurbished corbin mortise lock and needed to change the orientation of the latch. Evan was able to seamlessly walk me through the modification by sending pictures and giving a step by step, I haven’t gotten that kind of customer service in a long time!

Fun to wander and always something to add to the collection, just because 😊

I wish I could give these guys 10 stars! I came in 12/28/25 to try and find a key for these two trunks that I had bought off of Facebook marketplace. They were very kind and helpful, I wish I had gotten the names of the two women that helped me, but they were so kind. I would recommend this place to anyone!!

10 Star Vintage Hardware , like the ole general stores but a refresher of modern to ole school. Looking for the odd bolt or screw? Go to the back you vintage restoration nuts! The owners treat you like family. 10 star through out the entry to your purchase. Highly Recommended!!!!!

Always love shopping here, one of the best places in town. The salvage area in the back is the best!

Beautiful items. Love this place to shop. If you have that hard to find person to shop for...like my husband, this might be the place. They have gorgeous items to pick from, and the staff is so helpful and nice.

Fantastic store with friendly and helpful staff. I wish I could give 10 stars- that’s how much I Iike and appreciate this place. I like the selection of small items at the back of the store - I usually find something of interest that I can afford. Definitely worth checking out if you’re into salvage and furniture.

Fantastic place, but I have never been there! We live in NY… Had a hub on an 1850 mortise lock crack. Looked all over the USA. VS said to send it and they would take a look, no charge. They fixed it, very fair price. Great service, like new. So happy!

Store was AWESOME. Tons of new mid-west feeling furniture, lots of whiskey themed items. Huge selection of Old house hardware and I have the house that needs it. Whole Street is loaded with awesome stores.

Great selection of vintage door hardware. Choosing hardware for a vintage home can be complicated, but the very knowledgeable person who's in charge of the hardware department makes it easy and patiently answers questions. Lots of other great items in the store too (don't miss the Mason Jar Repurposing Section).

This was a unique place for unique older furniture reminded me of the days of country living, love my table made from a spoke wheel and chairs to fit its style. Everyone was sweet, and friendly to accommodate us. Be back soon.

I absolutely loved this place! If you're in need of vintage/ antique doors and any hardware for it, this is your place. Rim locks. Mortise locks. Bennington knobs. Crystal knobs. I just loved it. Wish i had found it 5 years sooner, lol.

Phenomenal customer service. Sent my mortise lock to be rebuilt by the experts at Village Salvage. They worked with me every step of the way and went above and beyond to find additional components associated with the lock to ensure I had a complete, fully functioning door. I don't expect the lock to fail anytime soon but I'd send it to them any day.

I ordered a hard to find replacement front door double lock for my 100+ year old house. Due to my own mistake I received a lock with one key instead of two. When I called about it the folks at Village Salvage were very friendly and super helpful. I shipped the lock back to them, they cut me a new key, and shipped it back. I could not be happier with the service. I will certainly be ordering more from Village Salvage as I restore and repair my house. Highly recommend. Josh Leite Millbury, Massachusetts.

Mix of salvage and new "rustic" furniture. Went in intending to look for a replacement knob for a secretary desk and ended up leaving with this AMAZING lamp. Looks great in my dining room!

I have been in the store many times over the years and I went in today to look at a couple of salvage doors they had. Keep in mind that only half of this store is salvage, the rest is made to look salvage. I had set my phone and my keychain, which has 2 keys on it and a key fob. The lady working walks over and asks if I need any help and then then immediately says oh can you move your phone and keys off of the table. And I said oh, I'm sorry I didn't see any signs and I don't see anywhere else to put them while I'm looking. Her snarky remark back is oh yes, we have signs all over, (clearly they missed this table). I am an incredibly respectful shopper, my keychain with 2 keys and a key fob and my phone are not damaging the table. So I said, now you're being rude, no problem, I'll find this $295 door somewhere else. I think as a retail worker you need to balance your attitude and how you talk to people and the fact that they might be spending a lot of money in your store. I need way more than that door, but I won't be buying it there. After that, I won't even go back in there. It was petty and ridiculous.

Lots of really cool stuff in here that is way out of my budget. I go here mostly because I have champagne taste and there's some pretty unique design stuff to inspire me. They also have a booth at Antiques Village in Centerville if you want to see some of their stuff, but Waynesville is too far away.

Always a friendly experience! The best thing is that they find what I need. Very knowledgeable and willing to talk and help. The items on hand are unique and different. Exciting store to visit.

I was at Village Salvage about a year ago and was absolutely impressed by the variety of old locks that they have refurbished. I have been a locksmith for 30 years and repair old mortise locks and I can say that they definitely have pride in what they do. I called them today to ask for availability on some parts that I was looking for and they went out of their way to help out. Absolutely awesome folks.

The ladies behind the counter were rude. The repurposed items are overpriced for the quality of craftsmanship. If you want old hardware this is the place to get it, but since it’s waynesville you will pay top dollar for it. That said, the store is cool. There are some things that you can’t find anywhere else.

Gem of a store. 1st visit was general look around. Found they had a huge vintage door lock selection, plus parts. Took my broken 1920's lockset in and Josh fixed me up on our 2nd visit. Third visit, found 2 salvaged light fixtures. Good pricing with old & new really cool items from art to decorations. Great folks, too. Highly recommend.

This store is awesome! I recently purchased an armfull of old tools for use and as photo props; the prices were super reasonable! You never know what you will find here, it's always fun to take a look around as the inventory is always changing. If you're looking for old key plates, door knobs (clear glass, amber glass, wood, metal, etc.), decorative pieces, full size doors or repurposed wood made into amazingly sturdy furniture, THIS is your store!

Found exactly what I was looking for, very friendly and helpful staff. We replaced a 100 year old lock with exact same model in great condition, they have a great selection on eBay also.

One of the most unique and fun stores in the area. The employees are kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. We love the store and definitely will be back!

New spot from the Waynesville Antique Mall folks that focuses solely on salvage and restored furniture. This is where you find the big adverstising and reclaimed lumber. The front showroom is well-curated. Be sure to check out the back room, it's full of salvaged architectural elements and barn lumber. There are smaller treasures too: hand sinks, cast iron register grates, and marquee letters. This shop will make you wish you owned an old farmhouse, just so you could put all this stuff back in its environment and enjoy it as it's meant to be. Staff is friendly and merch is at or below market value.
