Working as an auto transporter I find myself at Cal’s somewhat often. I’ve rarely been treated with such hospitality!
When I visit Cal’s to retrieve a vehicle they get me in and out quickly and with no hassle.
Shout out to Karen and Brittany, especially. They’re both top tier. Karen is extremely friendly and has gone out of her way to help me on more than one occasion; she’s an absolute joy to be around. Brittany in the office is a ray of sunshine, very capable and down to earth.
I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting the other staff members but I’d wager they’re equally as pleasant. =)
I didn't actually utilize Cal's Towing for my most recent need, but I still want to praise them for the experience I had. I called Cal's last night to arrange a tow because of all the positive things I'd heard about them from friends and family. I happen to live on a different side of town than they are located, so the dispatcher recommended a tow company on my side of town that could save me money in mileage costs. He told me he'd be happy to arrange a tow, but that he'd like to save me money if he could. And the company he recommended (Johnson's Towing) did an amazing job! But the mere fact that the dispatcher was willing to forgo this one transaction in order to do what was best for his customer tells me all I need to know about his character and the ethics behind Cal's Towing. If you want to feel like a person and not a transaction, call Cal's. I am very proud of them.
Cal’s Towing employees, Karen, in the office, and Greg, one of the tow truck drivers, are the absolute best. I have a van that recently broke down on Interstate 71. Due to the dangerous location and the fact I have a special concern with my legs, I had a desperate and immediate need to be towed from the Interstate. I had previously, and successfully, used Cal’s Towing services in a much less critical predicament, so I called their office. Karen answered and was wonderful. She went to work arranging for a tow truck and making a plan to deal with my leg situation. Within 15 minutes Greg, who was outstanding, arrived and accommodated my leg issues and secured my van to his tow truck. He then towed it to the shop that takes care of my vehicles.
Thank you Cal’s Towing, and most especially Karen and Greg, for rapidly and safely coming to my rescue. I can assure you that your efforts and kindness are greatly appreciated.
It amazed me how quickly Joe showed up to tow me from the side of the highway. Then he showed his patience while I had to wait for someone to pick my passenger up. Joe then gave me advice on my car which has been very useful. I felt lucky he was the one who got my call!

On Christmas Eve 2022, during what has been called a "once-in-a-generation" snow and ice storm, my car got stuck in the thick ice on James Road near the I-70 East on-ramp. Cal's Towing came out right away after two other companies that I called first kept me waiting for over 7 hours. Everyone at Cal's Towing was polite and professional and they honored their word - doing exactly what they said they were going to do. They provided a much-needed service during a life-threatening situation when people who were stuck in their cars were literally dying from the extreme cold. Cal's Towing charged me a very reasonable price that is lower than the going rate that other companies quoted. I cannot recommend Cal's Towing enough!
Seem like great people. Our neighborhood essentially has street parking only, and is in the midst of a horrifically-managed repaving project. The driver for Cal’s is trying to remind people (like me) to move their cars by driving around with his lights on and using his backup beeper. More than 2 hours after he could’ve started towing, he is trying to give people a chance to move their cars. Really awesome!
7/20/2022: My SUV had the starter go out on the lower deck of a 2 deck underground parking garage. You go down 1 level, down another level and a hard right turn to the parking spot. Zach and Jay of Cal's Towing had it out of the garage within 30 minutes and loading it on the flat bed and about about 20 minutes later dropping it off at the service center.
The interior clearance is very low and in spots is about 6'5" or less and entrance clearance is about 5'10".
They did an excellent job. I still can't believe they were able to get the car out.

Needed a 14 mile tow of a motorcycle. My insurance company arranged for this company to do the job. They called right away, then hung up and called back and said “my driver doesn’t want to tow a bike.”

My wife was in Westerville and the engine light is flashing. I called Bob Boyd for assistance. They recommend Cal's Towing. I spoke with John, he understood the urgency of getting the car to Boyd before 4:30, so a loner would be available. It was 3:15. At 4:00 John called me to let me know my wife has a car at Bob Boyd 's waiting for her and they are on their way as we speak. When you are 50 miles away from your stranded wife, it is a very special moment when someone, in my case John, tells you all is well. We have your back. I'm a retired serviceman and Cal's Towing is the best. Thank you again John and crew.
Used Cal’s to tow a classic Jeep about an hour north of Columbus. Throughout planning, everyone was personable, very professional and punctual. Highly recommend!

A local car dealership had made a mistake and had my previous car towed by Cal's Towing. When I called in and spoke with Jared, he was extremely helpful in telling me exactly how to correct the situation with the dealership and get everything taken care of. It took all the stress from the situation off my shoulders.
The staff at Cal's Towing were a pleasure to meet, and they really took care of me so I didn't get screwed over.

I have to pay a crazy amount of money to get my car out and it was stolen! No one informed me that my car was sitting there but I received a letter saying I have 30 days to come get it! The police department or Cal’s never informed me that my car was impounded. But they have no payment arrangement or anything how I’m supposed to pull 3000 dollars from thin air I don’t know!
Awesome company. We hit a pot hole on Ohio's wonderful highway and slashed our tire. We called Cal's and spoke to John(awesome guy) he set us up with a tow and Joe the driver ( another awesome guy) took great care of us and even drove us to our hotel. When you are on the road you hear about nightmare stories of people being ripped off. Not with this company. Very professional, polite, mannerly. Kudos to you all.

Had my car towed from tuffy cause it was sitting there for about a week. The work they needed to do was over priced so I couldn't get it fixed. When I called to try to get my car they told me Cals towing had it. I swear both towing companies are working together because when I called Cals they told me Broad & James had it??? So I went to broad & James and got cussed out by a old lady telling me my car is not there. So I called Cals back. Well they finally let me know they had my car and to come there on the next business day. When I went up there they ask me if I was picking it up and it was going to cost $488 and change. I just needed my tags though. When I got to my car it was stripped of everything....inside door panels was taken off for speakers, car was a wreak inside. Spare wheel taken also. It looked like my car was stolen and vadilized. It the guy had the nerve to ask me if I was getting my car knowing how it looked!!! Word of advice...if you ever get your car towed by either company please get it ASAP! IF NOT I HOPE YOU GOT A NEW CAR AN READY TO TAKE A LOSS! All I will say is John was really helpful in helping me get to my car so I could retrieve my plates. As far as both companies DON'T TRUST THEM OR THEIR GOOD REVIEWS!!!!!
I had my new Kia towed from Firestone to the Kia Dealership...these guys were phenomenal, they handled my car with care without me there and parked my car into a designated area for my Kia to be serviced. Thanks guys!...oh and very affordable. Then a week or two later blew my tire on a pothole on Outerbelt 270, they showed up before my ride. Then drove me and my car to the repair shop. Folks this is the only towing business I will ever call.
My car was broken down for a week. Called Cals towing, and 10 minutes later a gentleman named CK arrive and carefully loaded my beamer on a flatbed. I highly recommend this towing company. High experienced workers with manners.
NEVER AGAIN!!! I was charged twice for a one time service!! I waited for 3 days to speak with the supervisor, finally when I was able to speak with her... NOTHING was resolved! She told me they had no record of this transaction and I was basically SOL unless I contacted my bank. I was not offered any other help, they need to reevaluate who ever process their debit/credit transactions because conveniently they have no record of them taking money from my account BUT has record of it declining? For such a simple service, it came with a major headache! This was my first time working with this business and unfortunately will be my last. I will direct any further business inquires else where!
Fast and friendly service! I'm a college student and I could not afford to pay a lot of money for a tow and to get my car repaired. I was stuck at a grocery store when the ball joint on my car broke. Cal's had the best price and best customer service locally out of 8 other towing companies I called. I would highly recommend using this company over others.
HORRIBLE!! I would never willingly use their service. I was in a car crash, my car was totaled. I was rushed to the hospital from the scene and my car was towed to Cal's. I went the next day to see if I could get my house keys and my coat at least out of the car, they told me I had to pay $209 just to get my stuff, and if I didn't do it that day, it would be an additional $20/day. Easy to say, I'm pissed
If you are in a position to choose which tow company to use, I would advise against choosing Cals. However I'm sure in certain situations they wouldn't take advantage of you... In my case, my car was getting impounded and I obviously had no choice as which company to use as I was in a patrol car handcuffed watching my beloved be carted away. Please don't let this admission affect the credibility of my review to you...
First off Yucaipa Police Dept has since opted to NOT USE Cals towing on any police involved tows. They opted for a company that is NOT LOCAL. When questioned about this decision they advised that there were too many INCIDENTS reported by customers and witnessed by officers to continue to use them. Also I, not intending to get arrested, had not had enough money with me to get my car out of impound. I was short by about $100, they were not willing to work with me on a dollar stating that the price was set up by the police station and I needed to get a release form from the station first anyway. At the station the clerk and detective informed me that they in fact do not set up the price and that the price I was quoted was much higher than the fee that they include on police involved tows. Upon returning to Cals, I decided I was too pawn my camera in my car to get the money to pay for the impound. My camera was not there, it was stolen, and "how dare I" accuse them. Furthermore they showed me that they were not responsible for any damage or missing property to or from any vehicle in their care. I witnessed mistreatment of other cars during my time spent there. Also, and even though someone was watching me get my belongings out of my car, they stated that they were going to say that I went in the car, and they couldn't be sure that I didn't take my camera out of the car. Since then I have obtained the footage of my arrest from the gas station and it shows the officer putting my camera back in the car. I will be visiting Cals again in the future, and I hope you do not have the misfortune of visiting them, as they are rude and theives. At least one is the latter.
When the snow came down last night I was going too fast and put my car into a ditch by the onramp on 270 N. I called one place and they didn't pick up their phone. I called Cal's and they were extremely nice. My call even dropped and they called me back! A truck was at my location in a matter of minutes. The driver (also named Cal) was very professional. He was quick and the tow was at least $150 LESS than what I guessed I would be charged. Some towing companies take advantage of you -- not Cals!
