BE VERY CAREFUL SELLING SCRAP HERE. I HAVE PERSONALLY SEEN A SCALEMAN UNDERCUT A NEW CUSTOMER BY RINGING UP THEIR SCRAP AS SOMETHING SIMILAR, BUT FOR A CHEAPER PRICE.
An example of this is:
New customer brings ~50lbs of wire. 60% of it is 75% copper wire, and the other 40% of it is 65% copper wire. While the customer isn't paying close attention to the screen, the scaleman buys it all as 65%, giving the new customer a worse deal. The cash office will disclose whats on the ticket, but an untrained eye would not know to correct that. It's not illegal, but it's morally wrong. My advice, sell your scrap somewhere where the employees will be FULLY transparent with your items. Also, the place is full of OSHA violations. People walking around without PPE, oil in the runoff, the list goes on.
9/21/2024.Going price for light steel was around $210/ton. Scrapyard nearby was on fire and wasnt taking customers. Ace dropped to $100/ton. I said to the guy at the scales, " $100? Is that all?" If you want to charge a 10% processing fee you should state that on your website. You should also fix your answering service which just repeats the options menu when you select an option. The guy who took my scrap metal seemed okay, the lady at the counter seemed hostile. My guess is this is probably about what you should expect at a scrap yard.

Terrible pricing compared to competitors
A disgusting unkempt yard overflowing with chemicals.
But they are willing to falsify records and let you use IDs that don't belong to you. So if you smoke Crack and don't have a valid ID you should come here.
I move thousands pound steel use box trailer. They could not use their forlift to unload them. I left and went to new world recycle. But it is a big junk yard.
Ace has always been a pleasurable place to go. I remember going there to pick autoparts when they dealt with automobiles, that's been almost 50 years ago. The employees are easy to talk to, they're helpful and the scrap prices are very good!
I dont understand how I can go down the road to slezingers and get 65 to 75 for my load then one day they are closed and I have to take half price ...half 35 dollars wow I live an hour away and after 20 dollars in gas"live and learn

I definitely will not go back to a saint and meddle again for one they stop giving tickets to put in the Dropbox for the drawings I suggest people go elsewhere to sell their scrap metal as I don't believe that a sort of metal is paying the right amount and on top of it not getting a green ticket to get in the drawing anymore unless you have $50 or more so I definitely won't be going back there other people can do whatever they want but as for me I won't be going back
Let me tell you about the people at Ace. Every single one of the people I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with at this establishment has been very helpful, professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I travel 40+ miles to sell scrap at this place and pass many different scrap buyers along the way. They have won my business time and time again. I own a used automotive dealership and scrap probably 30 cars a year.. Shopping around scrap yards today. Ace wanted to give me 40 bucks for a catalytic converter. I said no and took the same cat to Gcor a mile away and got 350. Definitely never going back to ace
Thief's they do not pay the most for your scrap will take advantage of you and then say they will make it right only to continue to lie and steal. Crooks don't even deserve 1 star out for themselves.
Guy at Garage is a Crook do not take Copper here they do not pay you the Highest Price, your better off taking it down the street. Will pay you atleast .50 more copper is supposed to be $3.50lb currently 5/19/21 Paid me $3.00lb very Crooked not Satisfied. And half the piece of copper wasn't even on the Scale!!!
I have been going here for about 16 years. I have seen a lot of changes but, the one thing that never changes is their compassion to treat all their customers fairly. Also they double check all their daily receipts to make sure their customers got a correct fair price for their recyclables. Now from my observations Ace/Iron metal appears to me, to be a wonderful experience to make a career there..... I have always thought this would be a FUN OCCUPATION...
Just needed 59 lbs of lead they were very focus on my needs and heloed carry to the truck. Also I needed some 1/4" plate and the guy who helped me out carried it all the way back to my truck. Great staff too. The security guard very helpful also. Buy it boys....5 Star Service here!
Very friendly staff...they all know everything they should know about their job positions, very well organized where you drop the steel behind the scales and the garage area up from for aluminum, copper, e.t.c..same employees for quite some time...get to know the people going there so often, nice place, clean...security officer on guard during business hours...I love Ace Iron & Metal!
They tell you to call for info on there page but when you do the office girl is extremely rude and says she's not supposed to be answering 😡 all these questions over the phone while she's loudly chewing in my ear. Well what are you there for?? because I know your not out there in the cold working hard with the men!
These guys are the best... they are more then willing to lend a hand unloading the scrap I took a load of scrap copper to one of their competitors (only because I was right around the corner) it was big cuts of thick copper wire laying loose in the back of the company I work for' s truck they refused to help unload it. It was a Gaylord and a half they at one point stood and watched me laughing at me... if I would have taken it to ace those guys would of jumped up in the truck and helped we would of got it knocked out in no time at all. And they give better prices too I will drive past every competitor all day to make my way to ace... great group of people working there.
Guy at the weigh station was short with no enthusiasm. Lady behind the counter "counted $390.00" and receipt said 390 but got to the car and only had 350... Only good thing they did was took our yard ornament . thanks
The people there had me back my truck up too far to dump my scrap. And i had a completely flat tire the next day. They don't look closely at the ground before they guide you in
Called twice a few days apart for price quote on recycling old Christmas lights and was given a price quote of .70 per lb. Talked to the same lady twice and was quoted price was the same. I told her that other places were maximum of .20 per lb., she stated that that was their price. When I went in and after they weighted and taken the lights and thrown them into their bin the receipt was show .10 per lb. the cashier stated that they were sorry but they only pay maximum .10 per lb. and that I was quote a copper wire price. I was stuck and they knew it. I will never return and am going to file a complaint with the BBB.
Great place to bring a car for scrap! Easy and quick, especially if you can manage to get the car in without a tow truck. Pays well enough that I'd actually go out of my way to take scrap there.
