My son and I just went to buy metal for him to practice welding. The customer service was phenomenal! We worked with Raudel and John. This is what customer service should be.

Raudel and John are great guys to work with. This place is a fabricators/machinists/blacksmith wonderland. From tubing to Giant blocks of steel... They probably have it.

Agree with Colt Mcginnis ... we were there March 2025 with with some nice clean aluminum. I told them it was extruded and you could clearly see that the items were manufactured by an extrusion process. When handed the green payment receipt at the window, I looked at it where it said "commodity" and said, you gave market value on cast aluminum which is worth a lot less than extruded aluminum. The response was, I don't know, that is what was in the system. They just wanted to argue that is was cast when anyone could clearly see that it was extruded.

Scraping together every last dime that I can get because Easter is tomorrow and I drive 10 miles to come up here to get paid three dollars for some aluminum cans and I handed over bear bright copper as well as a brass foil and the gentleman just took it and pocketed it. He said I could have it back, but it would be less money. Considering that you don’t get paid the same for aluminum as you do for bear, bright copper or brass and it was only a half a pound of aluminum I was paid for it wasn’t worth it at all. I spent more in gas driving up here and I will make sure to contact the Better Business Bureau after the holidays. It’s hard enough spending the holidays even attempting to celebrate after having lost my youngest child just two years ago. I was only trying to get together extra money for my daughter’s Easter basket being out of work for so long. But that’s all right because karma is very real and I don’t envy the gentleman that just decided to do that and try to play me because he saw a female and everybody was in a hurry as they were closing, and I have never been here before. I’d imagine I’m not the first He’s done this to. At least I know now- stick with Cohen

I was nervous going to a new place where women don't normally go, but Raundel, who I believe was the foreman, was so kind to me and was so helpful

Metals across the road from recycling drop off. Ruedel and the crew are first rate. Been buying for nearly 20 years. They help small time fabricators source bits and drops to get jobs done. No job too small. Just roll in and ask for help. Fine prices. All manor of materials. Changes weekly depending on inventory, off oddball stuff; railings, aluminum, nuts and bolts, bins, sheets, whatever. And a full stock of new steel if you need lengths. New and cutoffs. An artist's meca. You never know what you'll find.

They'll get you if you let them. Counted 61 pounds of yellow brass as irony brass because of a dozen stems left on valves, weighing buckets on the scale while floating them lighter with their hands instead of dumping it onto the scale..... I'm a plumber, scraping is a large part the career, first street will 100% take advantage of you if you let them.

One guy helping me unload while five guys stand by and watch then they are mad at me for causing the line to get so long. I was informed "the next time you have a trailer full of aluminum sheet metal you need to take it across the street because they have a magnet that can unload it." This coming from a guy that just got done checking all my aluminum with a magnet.

I always go to 1st Street Recycling because I've found the staff to be friendly and informative when it comes to properly separating your recyclables. They recognize me when they see me and are always talkative. I try my very best to properly separate my recyclables before coming in because these guys stay late everyday due to an end of the day rush that is a daily event. I also enjoy the fact that they give out $.50 pieces and $2.00 bills. They are also known for having the coldest pops from a pop machine. Thank you gentleman for being so helpful and understanding.

Bought some 1/2 inch metal plate for a welding table, staff was friendly and helpful and the metal was a good price。 Retail buyers come here for your steel!

I went across the street to buy steel, but it's the same company. Just need a few various pieces of steel for a project. Walked in, told the guy what I was looking for, and in a few minutes I had everything I needed and was on my way. Price was great and service was fantastic. Selection was MASSIVE and very well organized! I credit that to why the guy was able to walk me straight to what I wanted. I will be back for sure.

They give a decent price. Very confusing! A lot of people don’t speak English which does not help the confusion! Area is a little shady. They have given unique money to me twice $2 bill, 50 cent coins.

Absolute best place to redeem your metal. The scales are accurate and the prices are the best in town. If it is busy,it is because everyone there knows this is THE place to go! Always come away with a smile! Customer/friend of the business for five years now.

Decently quick, mostly friendly service. If you have your scrap properly sorted you will be fairly compensated. Best advice is to know what you have when you go and be sure to speak up if something dosnt look right on your ticket.

These guys are great. Fast, efficient team, honest weights, fair prices. If you have metal to sell, come here. You'll be treated right. I sold aluminium cans after a short wait. The first place prize for metal recycling sales is First Street Recycling.

Best place around for aluminum, brass, copper, and other more expensive metals. I'm always happy to visit Bruce, and to unload up to 3 times a day. Recommend to anyone looking to sell their various metals!

I've been going to First Street Recycling for years. I don't go to sell metal, I go to buy new and used steel. I have never once had a bad experience here. It doesn't matter how small or how big your job is, they will accommodate you accordingly. The prices are amazing (I just purchased enough square tubing and sheet metal to build a welding cart and I paid $16 out the door) and the selection of metal is huge. You will definitely find what you are looking for here. They do accept credit cards and they do not charge you a fee for using it.
