Scrapped the box off of an old catering truck today, think Johnson's Catering, took longer than expected and would have gone much smoother if I had done more prep work to minimize the time. I'm not writing to complain, I wanted to thank the crew at A&B Iron for their patience and for allowing us to take up there valuable time on a very short notice. Thank you for your professionalism and thank you for allowing us to take care of something no one else would. I sincerely apologize for the excessive amount of time it took us. I will always recommend you business to anyone looking to scrap metal and I will be sure that anything that is brought to you at my recommendation is free from extra labor and not welded to a truck.
I cut rings off a circular oven which weighed 660 and the owner frank said it’s 304 stainless and paid me .35 cents a pound so got 460$ for 2 rings when his employee said it’s 316 he said I know my stainless and it’s 304 so that made me suspicious. Next day I took a 3rd /4th ring to 1st street recyclers shot it with Analyzer gun 316 gave me a premium for 1000lbs plus .85 cents a pound got 1119$ seller be where about shady owner Frank which he should make it right but I’m sure he won’t and if he doesn’t lesson learned and I will sell my scrape elsewhere
When I called down there to report merchandise that was stolen out of the house, the lady that answered the phone was really nasty and says that there’s nothing she can do about it that they can take the stolen property because you have to have a police report first and by then it is too late please in my opinion use another scrapyard
Made almost 20 bucks off my aluminum gutters! These guys make it easy to do the right thing. Why fill up the landfill when you can recycle, profitably?
First off 80% of there 5 star reviews were obviously done by this crooked business. Ladies and gentlemen they have been KNOWN around the Dayton area for shady business practices since I can remember. They WILL rip you off if you let them. It's like the staff there are trained in how to scam people. Seriously that's what it feels like. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!
Always Friendly service, pays just as good or better than their competitors. They also just installed a brand new scale so you ain't getting ripped off like their competitors are doing to people. Better business hours also.
My go to scrap metal spot. Easy in and easy out, even for 26' trucks. Why throw away any metal junk when you can easily turn it into a few dollars and let these people recycle it?
Dishonest employees work here. Check your receipt closely as they will not identify your scrap metal correctly and give you less money even after you point it out to them. I will not go back to this dishonest business again.
Worst business in Dayton! Liars! They tell you one thing on the phone and something totally different when you get there. First Street recycling is a much better choice to go to!

It's too dirty for 5 stars but this was a great experience.. quickly got me taken care of and out of the way.. honest with my pay and the metal quality.. if you need to trade some metal for cash, check this place today..
We drove our vehicle in to scrap it they wouldn't take it because it had the fluids in it? We took it to Franklin Iron Corp on first street. Got more money a ton.
Dishonest business practices. Employees disappear with your cans and then tell you that they found other items in with your cans and pay you less. Second time I have been cheated. I would recommend that everyone go elsewhere.
