I've been here a few times in the summer and it's always a nice place to stop when we are out on the boat. I stopped today because the weather was so beautiful and it wasn't the waitress's fault but she was by herself and it took 45 minutes just to get our order put in. We ordered a couple beers and they came after our food so we were there in over an hour without a drink. I'm not sure if prices went up or if they were always that high, but when I looked at my bill and saw I paid $6.50 a beer in a plastic cup I thought I'll never come back here for anything other than food unless they're having a special one drinks. The atmosphere is great and the waitress was really nice but when they see the weather is going to be nice, they should staff more than one person for the entire restaurant and offer better prices on draft beer
Started with the cheese curds , pretzel and extra crispy chicken wings ! Then ordered the burger with pastrami ( delicious) it tasted flame broiled . I also tried the sweet potatoes fries with the ranch which was thick and just the way I like it ! Very good
Had a wonderful lunch today with 7 of my cousins! The food was delicious, the server attentive and the atmosphere relaxing and fun. Would definitely recommend!
The waitress that was helping us was not bad. The wait time on the food was not to bad. The food is over priced in my opinion considering we just had a burger and one frie with some cheese curds with a coke and it ran us 45 dallers for all that and the burgers were so dry they were not good at all. Atmosphere is nice but for 45 dallers I could have went down the rode and had awesome food for way cheaper.
I recommend the grilled chicken sandwich it’s very tasty!! Only downside is the sandwiches don’t come with fries or a side, which to me is disappointing with how much they are charging for the sandwiches alone.
Beer was good and good service at the bar, I mainly come for the atmosphere and it being right on the lake! Nice little spot I actually prefer this place over papa boos :)
Ruben is a hot lunch meat sandwich. Chips and queso are generic corn chips and canned cheese. Cheese curds were actually delicious.
Food is very underwhelming, however decent view on water, our server (Emma?) was polite/personable/efficient, usually there's band or music and a lot of middle-aged bar flies. For a "bar" atmosphere on a Friday night, there were lots of leftover families and children from earlier in the day. Not a fan of kids at a bar at 8pm & 9pm, but that's me.
Overall, hit or miss. There are plenty of lakeside options all around the lake. Would come back for drinks, not making a special stop for food.
I have stopped in here a few times. I’ve tried the breakfast as well as the lunch. The service here is hit and miss. Some of the servers are great. Others are not so friendly and seem like they hate their jobs. The food here overall, I would put as below average. The only thing I’ve ever got here that I would get again would be the breakfast sandwich that comes on the croissant. Everything else I’ve tried has been just bad. The location here is excellent and I feel most people are coming here for the atmosphere and to drink rather than to eat. If you’re looking for a place to hang out and enjoy some time this is it if you’re looking for a place to get some good food, I would go elsewhere.
This is our favorite place to eat at on the lake by boat. This is not bar food, they have quality tasty food. The calamari is a great starter, but the shrimp tacos are second to none. Service is also good and friendly. I highly recommend trying this place out for a change from the normal lake bar food.
We stopped in with the family and should have known when my husband had to go inside and track down a server after no one came out to greet us. Once she finally came to our table at least 10-15 mins later and took our order she asked to run an open tab on our card becase I guess people have skipped out on paying. We let her.
She never came back someone brought our order and when we were done my husband again had to go in and ask someone for the check.
A new server came out and said she was covering for our other server.
I did let this server know that my husband's shrimp rangoon was not good. She said oh well I've never eaten it... Not let me see what I can do or speak with a manager.
I asked for a paper check she said: did you hit print? then she never came back. After almost 10 mins I went and found her she ignored me and I proceeded to ask if she had a chance to grab that check. She proceeded to run her mouth about serving 20 tables as she was grabing it.
Needless to say my husband's meal was not good we never were asked to have it taken off the bill. The service was terrible and we tipped and honestly probably shouldn't have.
I would not recommend wasting your time and hard earned money!!!
Food was AWFUL! About $9 for 1 fish taco that i wouldn't serve to my worst enemy!
I don't know how anyone would EVER feel like serving that garbage was ok. The people in the kitchen should feel like crap, because they clearly don't know how to cook or prepare food. Clearly the owners just want customers to spend their hard earned money on poorly prepared food.
Maybe the owners need to pay a real cook to make the food. Someone that actually relized that customers want to be able to eat the overpriced food that they are spending their money on.
Im not sure how management or owners, are ok with dishing out the garbage food they serve..
What happened to business's taking pride in what they do.
Its a good bar. Just way to small for some of the entertainment they have. The staff is spread way to thin. Other than the long waits, no defined line area, and to little staff on big nights, its a great little place.
Found this awesome spot just 5 minutes off the highway exit. Seat yourself style, we enjoyed nacho grande and chicken sandwich. Fries never came out of the kitchen, but that was fine as the order was plenty filling. Live music was gearing up, but we had to get going.
Live band was playing. Players club. They were good. Very entertaining. They all can carry a tune. The waitress and bar tenders are sweet and on top of things. Food was good drinks were yummy and you could taste the alcohol. Will be back more times In The future .
We had heard good things so decided to go for breakfast. My companion ordered a small glass of milk with her coffee and was told that they don't have milk. You have pancakes, french toast and sausage gravy on your menu, but you don't have milk?? We both ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. Eggs were awful (dry and crumbly). The bacon was crisp and good and the potatoes were average. Normally when you order toast, you get 2 slices but only one is served here. I would maybe try a lunch or dinner here as the service and atmosphere were both great, but most likely not breakfast again.
It was a good night for a party of 13. Plenty of room for a large party, the staff were VERY friendly, tue f99d came quickly, everyone LOVED the order. The music on the deck added to the experience. We will be back!!!!

I am going to be honest. We came with a good vibe but low expectations of what the food would be like. We were boating and hungry.
Our food was absolutely fantastic. I can not wait to go back and have the guacamole bites again. To say they were amazing is an understatement. The jalapeno sauce that they come with should be sold. Wow! The music today was fantastic and it was our entree’s were all delicious.
We will absolutely be all summer long boating customers. The only critique I could offer was our server forgot about us and we had to go to the bar to get more
We always have a great time at THE BOAT YARD! Got to see the band "Big Bad Stach" play... and their a cover band that plays an eclectic range of genres. Their lead singer + the band/ instrumental backup + their list/ pick of songs ? coupled w/ amazing customer service from the wait-staff ? made for another great experience. ? we'll be returning on our next weekend at Buckeye Lake!
Nice place. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Good food and drinks. Cheeseburger and fries I had was really good. Will be back! I sure wish they had kabobs, beef, chicken &/or shrimp!
Great outdoor waterfront dining. Alex, our server was very pleasant and took time to give us a history and background on the lake and surrounding areas. He also was an excellent server. Not to mention, the food is very good also..
I recently visited The Boatyard on Buckeye Lake and had a fantastic experience. The food was outstanding, with a diverse menu offering something for everyone. Very nice location. It sits on Buckeye Lake. They do not have very many tables at all. It’s pretty congested. More like a bar than a restaurant. It’s an every man for himself seating. People are basically watching you eat so they can be the first to snatch your table as soon as you get up. Very few waiters. As soon as you are seated they ask for a credit card upfront before you can order. I didn’t like that but I guess they have had a lot of people leave without paying according to our waiter. Not surprising because it’s so congested. The food is good! Fresh and interesting. We enjoyed it. Kids liked it too. I did think it was a bit pricey for the portions.
