I don't understand how this place stays in business when the owner runs off his own customers.
About a month ago I called asking if he had any front bumpers for an SVT focus and he said he had one but it was damaged. I asked how damaged it was and that I was willing to buy it if the price is right because I could use it to repair my bumper that is missing pieces. He said he'll have to go look at it and the he'll call me back.. never happened.
Fast forward to today: I called him again, asked if he still had the SVT focus and if I could come look at the bumper. I also asked if I could get a rough estimate on how much he would want depending on the damage. He said he can't do that, I'd just have to come look at it.
So I drive up there from Delaware, ask where the svt focus is and he tells me he doesn't know where it's at and told me to go look for it. I searched for nearly and hour and couldn't find it because the yard is completely unorganized with tall grass growing around most of the cars. So I walked back to the front and finally the (I think) grandson walked in and I asked him if he knew where it was. He told me where it was, so I walked all the way back out there and finally found it.
The bumper was completely crushed and broken into many pieces but it did have the lower lip portion that I needed so I could cut it and splice it in with my damaged bumper. I took a photo of the damaged bumper and a wing that was on another car and asked if he'd sell me the bumper even though it was basically trash. He told me $40.. I asked if that was his lowest and he acted like it was an insult. He made a big deal about how if it's not worth $40 then he'll just crush the whole car.. Wow, so mature..
Anyways, I kindly said I'll pass on the bumper and then asked how much for the wing. He said $20, which was honestly a pretty good price, so I said sure, I'll take it. I asked if they pull it for me or if he wanted me to pull it. He told me to pull it myself, so I went to my car to get my tools. I have my tools in a luggage style rolling toolbox to make it easy to navigate through junkyards, since I go to other junkyards often.
As soon as I walked back in the door with my toolbox he started yelling "NO, what do you need all those tools for?".
I said "dude, I don't know what I'm going to need to remove the wing and I'm not about to walk back and forth to my car when I inevitably need a different tool".
Then he said "you know what that's it, no one is going into my yard ever again! I'm tired of people coming in and stealing, I'm losing this and that amount of money and I run a million dollar junkyard blah blah blah"!
At this point I started to raise my voice and use profanity. I was kind up until now.
I honestly don't even remember what I said at this point because I was completely flabbergasted by how ignorant and rude this guy is. But it was something along the lines of "Bro I've never even been inside your yard, how are you going to assume I'm going to steal something from you just because someone else did. you know what, I just won't ever come back ever again."
That's how you lose a customer forever. I've given you thousands of dollars over the years. I've bought engines from you, I've even sold you cars that I'm sure you've made a profit on. I've had negative experiences in the past but I was willing to overlook them because you're closer to Delaware than Columbus. But now I will never give you another dime, you won't ever get another car from me and none of my friends will ever come back either.
My favorite part is how you childishly claimed that you'll "just crush the car" because I wouldn't give you $40 for a totaled bumper but then cry because you're losing money because people stole from you?.. I was willing to give you $20-$30 for a literal piece of trash that nobody else in the entire universe would want. As for people stealing from you, maybe invest in security cameras? Just a thought. Then again, I don't run a "million dollar junkyard" so what do I know. Also, the lobby reeks of cat urine and feces.
Stopped in for an Alternator for my Ranger.
No nonsense, get in, get your part, get out. They got my item, took it home, everything worked, will be headed back for future parts.
Paid for a sub in advance, a couple weeks ago. Came to pick it up today, and it was rusted out instead I bought a mirror. I got home and realized one of the mounting bolts is broken. Good place to go if you want junk parts.
I have a repair shop in Lima and I typically stay local with parts, but J & J had a part that I needed. There was a fitment issue with the part sent (no fault of J & J) and when I contacted them they were professional, helpful and willing to ship another. Fortunately, with their help we learned what the issue was and a replacement wasn't needed. I have since ordered another part and it arrived the next day. Don't hesitate to order your part from this company and have it shipped. If there's an issue, I'm confident they'll make it right. I have a short list on my wall of salvage yards I'll purchase from, and this one has just been added to the list. Great job team J & J!!!
Worst experience ever!! They will sell you non working parts. Will not answer the phone or give you refund when they don't have replacement parts.Stay away from them!!!
Take my advice and pass on this company. I ordered a Vette left fender and they sent a right. After paying to return it, I waited for a credit on my account; after several calls with no response, I went to my credit card company who advised that I could not recover the funds because I had waited over 60 days. I waited as a courtesy, knowing that they were busy and trusted that they were reputable. There are plenty of yards out there, pass on this one.
Jay is a very rude person . Has no people skills, No respect for customers, has a very bad attitude, Don't waste your time . ... You'll thank me later ...
I’m not really making a review or anything, I’m just hoping the owner sees this, do you guys take in catalytic converters? I pulled mine off my 07 eclipse gs with 108,000 miles so I could straight pipe it and now I’m trying to figure how much I can get out of it since it’s off
Such a great place to buy used Autoparts. The young man behind the counter "I believe that his name was Jay" did a great job finding all of the parts that I needed.
I bought a 6.4liter Hemi engine from J and J roughly 2 weeks ago and went to pick it up on site. I dealt with Jay and inspected the engine and all the equipment that came with it and it was exactly the way it was represented in the advertisement. He and his father were very helpful in any questions that I had and did everything to help me get my engine wrapped and loaded and on my way. After I had left with the engine about 2 hours later ,I got a call from Jay telling me I had overpaid by 1,000 which totally caught me off guard . You don't run across people like Jay very often in today's society. He sent me the extra 1,000 the next day and I received it 2 days later.
I gave J and J a 5 star rating before my extra money was brought to my attention as they sold me exactly what their advertisement said they had for sale. I will do business with them again and would recommend them to anyone who asks.
Very, very poor customer service. Rude and unprofessional. They all looked very unkept and filthy. They looked like they didn't even bother to shower before showing up to work. Plus, they were smoking and were quite rude. Horrible place of business and unacceptable customer service
I would give 0 stars if I could. nothing but a bunch of broke hillbillies. went to get fans for my car and a few other things as I told them at the counter they said sure then come out yelling at us for going into a part of the yard that "isn't theirs" we apologized dearly and left that part of the yard we then got kicked out and "banned" for entering the wrong yard which we were never warned of. don't go horrible customer service bunch of onry old dudes that will never make it far in life.
I have been here several times they know what they are doing the prices are amazing and they have excellent customer service this is where i will be getting all my parts from. I recommend them to anyone
Pick and pull junkyard. The nice thing is, if you need a Ford part or a Chevy part, the yard is sectioned off so you don't have to search the entire yard. I noticed all of the same make are in the same area.
These guys are amazing! They did a thorough search of the lot to find my part, a wheel rim for my Dodge Grand Caravan. They cleaned the rim very nicely for me then mounted it in my car too! They noticed my headlight needed fixing too and tightened the bolts on it haha I whole they were getting my wheel rim ready. I’ve not seen such great time, attention, and real quality service in many years at any auto parts dealer. Thank you J&J! You guys are first on my list every time!
Dont go here. Tried to bargain with the owner over a two wire plug he said he wanted,ten i offered five dollars he tells me to leave and dont come back
Unprofessional back yard hillbillies. I delivered a mustang Saleen to them agreed to buy parts from the car. I call back to get be sure the parts would be available and low and behold Jerry said they sold the parts to another individual. No integrity at this place. Worst part is I had a good feeling when I first spoke to them the kid had my name and the old man had my dead father's name. Way to go J and J bad way to stay in business.
