Not the best experience for my first purchase from BMI.
I decided I would build my grandson a go-kart. Pressed for time, I ordered a frame from one company. That company said BMI had a parts kits with all the parts I would need for that frame. I went to BMI's website and saw the kit had a few items I already had, like a seat and harness. I called them and spoke to a woman there that said she could not remove the seat and harness from the kit and that the price was the same because everything would be shipped if I bought the kit. So after the call, I went down the parts list online and added all the items listed to my cart, except the seat and harness. The price was just shy of $700 for the parts and they arrived about a week later.
I wanted to get the wheels and tires on the frame first so I'd have a rolling chassis.
The rear axle was supposed to be 1" in diameter. It was not uniform in diameter all the way down the axle and thus, the bearings and wheels would not slide on. I contacted BMI via their contact form and about a week later, I received a response to sand the new axle with emory cloth or a belt sander and if that didn't work, I would need to get another axle. This axle was brand new and not as it should be, but was told to sand it or get myself another axle.
Moving to the front. I installed the spindles, wheels/tires and then went to install the tie rods and ends. One side went together with no issues. I started on the other side. One tie rod end screwed on as expected but the other wouldn't thread on. I tried several times and it seemed the threads down inside the tie rod end were not threaded properly. I called BMI and a woman answered, asking for my order number how she could help. I explained the issues and she told me to hold on. About 5 minutes later, she came back on and told me to send them the bad tie rod end, they would look at it and then decide if they'd replace it. It's a $6 part and that was their best solution? I told her I would just have to find a new one somewhere. She went silent, stopped talking altogether. I said thank you and bye and still no response. Why would I spend postage to send that to them, a $6 part, so "they could make decision"? Ridiculous, I could've sent them photos or they could've believed me and replaced the tie rod end. I'm not the old guy trying to get a free $6 tie rod end from kart parts suppliers.
Anyhow, just another sad chapter of today's business models. The experience with BMI over their poor quality parts and bad customer service help has taken all the fun out of this project for me. I have a new rear axle I have to correct or find a replacement for and have to get another tie rod end somewhere. I'm retired and thought I'd have this ready for my grandson by the weekend, but it will not happen.
What started as a fun (and expensive) project, has ended with a small pile of defective parts I'm stuck with and no way to move forward without spending more money elsewhere.
Sad.
Never buy anything online from them. They say it will be easy to assemble.... no instructions, how do you expect to put somthing together with no instructions. In store is great, clean and nice. Just but it through them and not online.
I was at a loss for where to find the discontinued split rims for my son's go kart and Beth was able to find all the parts! Thank you soooo much for such great customer service!
Very professional service I accidentally ordered wrong tire hub size assembly and they were quick to correct it. I'm waiting on some parts from them but will definitely buy from them again I'm very happy.
You can order the part do not pay for overnight shipping because it will take a week to get to you or do not pay for a two day shipping it will still take a week 🤦🏽♂️ and then made me pay a extra $21 just to get my package from UPS. What a rip off. I can’t make this shit up
I ordered a tire roller $299.99 + $90.00 shipping from these guys. I never received a confirmation code for the order I placed. I checked my credit card account & no money was taken out. Fast forward a day or two, I checked again & still no money taken out nor was the money pending nor had I received a confirmation email. Instead of ordering it again from this website, I chose another competitor. $299.99 for the roller plus $35 shipping. I received confirmation for my purchase & a couple days later a tracking email. I arrived home from out of town, & was shocked to find 2 rollers under my garage. I checked my email once more, I had nothing from BMI. I checked my account, & the money was taken out. 5 days after I initially made the purchase. Of course I wanted to return the item. I called & explained that if they had sent out a confirmation email of my order I would have never placed the same order with another company. Even though it’s their fault, they wanted me to pay for the return shipping. If I had returned the item, I would have been out of pocket $180.00 with no product. I will never buy from this company again & I advise none of you to. They would rather foot the bill to the customer instead of owning up to their mistakes.
Shop and staff were amazing. Had alot of parts and many motorist hobbies included under one roof. Will decently be spending more time and money out here in the future.
I got into the flat track racing go kart world less than a yr ago. Im a 65 yr old Retired Marine, I have had to buy all kinds of parts starting out with used karts and dealt with many shops . By far this is the best Shop , people service i have found . I placed a order on ebay with them an added a message letting them know I needed it fast. With in a couple hours I received a phone call . And within 22 hours I had my parts in the mail box . You can't beat the personal attention you get to service or the price.
Terrible customer service! My 65 year old dad ordered 3 mini jeep atv's from BMI for his grandkids. They have a place on the website that lets you put in a ship to address and a bill to address but they won't let you ship to any other address but your bill to address. My dad's bill to address has a very small shared driveway. No one seemed to care about that. They don't even ship the ATV's from their facility they come from BG powersports out of Texas. The shipping company is pointing the finger at BG or BMI. BMI is pointing the finger at BG. BG is pointing the finger at BMI. I will never order from this place again.
Worst online experience ever. I spoken to so many people there that can’t get it together with their knowledge of Minibikes parts. One person says one thing next person says another. Bought some parts that I was told and re assured it would fit to what I was looking for I ask 3 times before purchasing to rectified that it would fit and work. Guess what it did not work. This guy chat is a joke tries to blame you for his own mistakes. I would never buy or invest my money here in my entire life. He his guy chat and their people are a joke. They had admitted there wrong and mistakes. But yet they don’t want to return items that were not as requested. This reviews here only tells me that it’s not just me who had similar issue. As a Buisness owner myself sometimes taking accountability for there action has to be acknowledge and apologize for their wrongdoing. And try to fix the issue with some sort of apology and refund or store credit. It this Buisness want to make them self as no wrong doing. They responded to this message with the offer to refund. When the guy Chad clearly stated to me that he was not going to refund anything. Also I did not purchase parts months ago. I requested help and assistance April, 5,2025. No help and then again on April 20,2025 and 3rd time May 10th, 2025. With multiple people who can’t get it together on there information given. They clearly need to be train in selling there parts because they just confuse you on what to get or need. And make you buy parts that don’t work. I don’t know who this Chad guy is but he needs to work better on his customer service better. He likes to argue with you and just not care about the client frustration of issue.
Ordered some surplus dirt bike tires for my cyclekart. Very impressed. These tires are going to work great. Thanks for saving me some money. Cyclekarts don't need $80.00 tires! BMI has always done me right. Product was as advertised and shipped super quick.
I have been very happy with many purchases over the years. Parts are good quality, the kits are priced right, and most importantly, always honest shipping prices to Alaska!
I have been a customer of BMI for a few years now, but I also order from other distributors as well. However, recently I had an issue with the parts I installed from BMI. Their response and service while helping me was incredible. Going forward, I will be ordering exclusively from BMI as they have now earned a customer for life. Anyone reading this, BMI is the real deal and truly cares about its customers. In my experience, other online 'power sports companies' have I ordered from are not nearly as resourceful. Great job BMI!
I am very pleased with the service that I received from BMI karts & hobby shop. I ordered 35 rocket kits and BMI didn't have enough to fill my order.
I received a call from the owner the next day informing me that they would contact their supplier for the balance. About 2 weeks later they shipped me the order.
The price was the best around and the service is wonderful. Thanks BMI!
Awesome place to deal with. Very friendly and they make beautiful parts. Kart racing tie rods are strong straight and have sharp threads machined. I love dealing with them and just made another order. Customer for life!
Truck drivers use 791 E Main St / OH-47. Go between the buildings, new docks in the back. Big lot to turn around in. Don't slide tandems, dock is a little low. Fast unload.
Ordered a part for a really good price, then figured out it won't work for our HD, frustrating since as I said it was a really good price, but it was our mistake. I called BMI and they were able to cancel the order and issue a full refund to our card, it was easy and the girl I talked to was friendly. I would definitely buy from BMI in the future!

ordered parts for kt196. right and left front spindles with ball joints. received parts and left side was used and had been installed and used and then been refurbished. ball joint was loose. was contacted by bmi but they said it was a new part. so I guess I'm a liar. do yourself a favor and order parts from china.
Accurate parts description and perfect fit. Easy ordering and tracking. Shipping fees are probably normal as compared to other online businesses. I will most definitely order from them again.

She took the time and patience to confirm that the substantial amount of Go-Kart parts I was ordering online were correct and would fit for my particular application. Very knowledgable and polite. For starters I saw a photo on Facebook of a shopping cart go-kart, now I didn't know where to start nor how to get parts etc, I type in google and saw BMI was a place to shop! I've been working on my kart for about 6 months getting parts thinking, planing.. I got a bumper kart from Wildwood NJ for 30$ it had wheels, steering and all, I wanted to start from scratch, grind off the old stuff plus sand to get the salt rust off etc, and thats where it all begin! I called got rear axle wheels, steering, almost everything! I talked to Lori she knows everything I've gotten, and knows how to pick out on what I'm thinking, When someone else would pick up the phone I would ask for her because she knows what I'm building hah trust me she knows her stuff! When I said to her "I need U-brackets that are maybe longer then the 3 inch" And oh boy she did! she even got me the bolts, nuts, and the rest of there hard where, now think about this.. I didn't write down plans on this project it was all in my head going alone with it the photos I had was from facebook with very small detail on how to make this thing, But she gave me part numbers so i can see it, measurements, specs gave me ideas what it would look like the list goes on.. Now for a project you will lose money, but after months of doing this I am happy all I got now is the front wheels and spindles to make it level, and maybe some mods on the motor hah but I always wanted to build a kart, So fill that cart with BMI karts & parts!
