Place has been deteriorating for the past 3 years, seems like everyone just does what they want, which is running off as many customers as possible.Took a five gallon pail of pure yellow brass in,75 pounds, the guy at the scale gave me plumbers brass price.Massive attitude from most of the employees, snippy on the phone too.
Don't go there. Make double your money and go to choen. Twice I had to deal with a guy that clearly knows nothing about metals and the different types there are. Once he said a brass pale was aluminum! Clearly you could see the green oxidation on it. The last time I took 35 lbs of silver plated brass untencles and he mixed it with my stainless and said he rarely ever sees brass untencles. I even told him choen has tested my silver plate untencles and confirmed they were brass! So today's loss was 50.00 because they only gave me magnetic stainless price when the utensils were non magnetic. FYI there is white brass and yellow brass. SMH I don't even work at a scrap yard and know more about metals then he does.
Definitely a lower end scrap yard to put in perfect words for everyone this is the scrap yard you go to get rid of unwanted scrap not the scrap yard that will help you make a buck and yes it is almost guaranteed you get a screw in your tire, friendly staff even had help unloading.

They destroyed my trailer trying to unload it with a trackhoe trying to pick something up they pushed down on the side of my trailer till it almost touched the ground now it is destroyed and they don't want to pay for it then they insult me telling me my trailer is junk it is a 5x14 ft trailer nothing wrong with it until they squashed it now it's destroyed do not do business with Phipps junk yard or they might tare up your trailer or truck .
This was my first experience at Phipps. The ladies in the office were very nice and a pleasure to do business with. We got a great price for our load. I was very pleased and I highly recommend it!

This is a standard metal recycling yard. They take all kinds of metals. Our only complaint about the place is the lack of signs and instructions on what needs to be done. It is a learn by screwing up kind of place, but otherwise very useful and convenient.
Second car I've taken over few months ago i got 253 for an escape, today i got 180 for an Oldsmobile intrigue. Sell has went way down. Yes, I understand thank you for the response.

2 of the guys (father and son I believe) came out Friday night and pulled us out of the ditch with the tow truck when we were on our way home from a basketball tournament. Roads were bad and I’m very grateful for their (Phipps) help along with Hamilton Twp fire dept making sure no one hit us while we waited.
This was the nastiest rudest cheating junk yard I have ever been to & My company has recycled in most all of the 50 states ! We were told if we didn't like it that we could leave that was after they took our load & changed the price cheating us out of $125 dollars along with being very rude hateful and nasty ! They need not worry WE WILL NEVER BE BACK NOR EVER RECOMMEND THEM FOR ANYTHING !
Rednecks towed our car, and damaged the new bumper cover, hood was popped, and fuses laying in the floor board. When I asked about reporting damage they got an attitude and lied about everything. I slammed their door as I was upset, they then lied saying I damaged their door, and lied about calling the cops. This place should be a superfund clean up site as they pollute the streams locally. Definitely recommend NOT using these hicks!!!
Great business and even greater people especially the two ladies at the desk. I showed up 2 min after close and I offered to come back the next day but they insisted on taking care of me... would definitely recommend this place
