I two days tried to call for oder part - nobody pick up phone . In the third day one lady answered and twice hang up the phone , form my last call she said part is sold , I guess , she didn't understood what part , she just don't care . Really stupid place , never again .
Run run run away. Do not ever deal with these jokers. They sold me a spindle with burnt bushings and was rusted beyond use ability. All 4 bolts holding the hub to the spindle snapped off due to being from a rusted out rat race mobile. The part should have never been available to purchase. So you take the part back not only will you get a nice argument about how they don’t sell the part . He’s the kicker your classic truck is now a target while in their lot. Somebody either threw something or hit my trucks chrome bumper leaving a huge dent. If your any kind of decent human being I’d steer way clear of these jokers. Its festering hell whole that will take a chunk out of you…
A great place when a woman is o. Her own trying to get parts she needs these girls at the front desk are great people always good to me weather hauling I. Junk with friends or buying parts or tires
Went in after calling to have a part pulled 5 days prior they had still not pulled the part The lady tells my dad over the phone that they can give me the lower control arm with the ball joint come on in we can pick it you can buy it $35 I was fine with that until I get the part after 3 hours of waiting for them to pull it and then they tell me oh we don't do ball joints oh you couldn't tell me that over the phone I guess and then there's Tammy who is a rude person who hangs up on people gets an attitude when they ask questions and then proceeds to tell me that I could come and bring the part back if I need to and that for a $12 service fee of re-putting the part back on the shelf they can only give me 24 of my dollars back that I spent on this part Tell me how is it killing you to put a part back on the damn shelf I do not understand why we have hired all these lazy workers get rid of them
Went here today. The daughter that was at the counter ask What do you want. Very very rude not just to me but everyone that came in also had my 9year old daughter with me and all the lady did was cuss and yell at customers.. would not recommend them and will not be back.
This company is one of the richest companies in all of South Eastern Ohio. The amount of big business from other companies that need to get their junk somewhere, McKees will take it and so with that, they're not hurting on money in the slightest.
That being said.
They don't need you. They don't want to deal with you as the customer.
You better know what you're talking about and don't ask any stupid questions because they will straight run you off. To my experience and many others I know experience, this is some of the worst customer service you can receive. Staff very unnecessarily rude, impatient and a whole demeanor that says "I hate you"

I've had 2 house fires and said the papper from the fire department wasn't good didn't know there was a date he took in short iron and aluminum they only pd for long iron no aluminum I called they said he didn't tell them but u think a place would tell u where to go or know when aluminum was with metal then me and my dad took a load of metal in it weight was 6898 then after it was 5860 the even asked while we was on scales if he was with me and only pd 500lb they say it's not there problem but yet they rip everyone off
You would think getting stuff from the junkyard you would get poor quality but that is not the case at Mckees. Any time i go to Mckees the staff makes sure to find the best available part to provide. I recently got a rear suspension knuckle for my hyundai, i called today to ask about a rim, i will certainly go back for more business.
I called on a Friday to check on a light blue fender for my Chevy cruze. They had one listed on line. They said they would call me the next day if they had it..got the call Saturday, said it was there. I asked if I paid in advance could they have it ready,they would not do that. So on Monday I drove an hour and a half to pick it up when I got they they said they were busy and I had to wait. I waited 2 hours,then an employee drove me out to the yard to find the fender. We drove in the yard for 20 minutes, no fender was found. I wasted 4 hours ,several gallons of gas, no appollogy, just next in line. Very rude.
I took a trip out to McKee today to gather some used goods for an upcoming project. Ladies at the front desk were amazing and the gentleman who helped me collect the goodies was a delight! Overall amazing trip, can’t wait to gather more goodies from McKee’s!
Long story short, it was the day they closed for Christmas break. My vehicle needed the parts over break to be legally inspected. David was the most helpful guy ever. We hit a snag when another car needed to be moved in order to get to my cars parts. When I explained how time sensitive the issue was we immediately drove all over the sight looking for the man who could move the vehicle. They got me squared away in time to get me legal.
I added pics for the final product showing. The parts may not be perfect, the price I paid for them was more than perfect, and the customer service was exceptional and definitely worth the price in the drive. Will ABSOLUTELY be back, and recommend to friends and family.
Great place to buy used auto parts. Have a great selection of newer cars there with plenty of makes & models. Girls up front run the show and will get what ya need done and it's a fast and busy environment. I suggest you do not wast there time. Parts runners are friendly and informative. The guy who helped me drive around for a min helping me find a special wheel. Prices are fair. Only reason I didn't rate 5 stars is because of the wait to get my wheel. It was a tad too long but 4 outta 5 is still way better than most!
Fantastic yard with knowledge folks to help. They are EXTREMELY busy and don’t have time to mess around. If they sense you’re uneducated they don’t have time to teach, if they fee you’re wasting their time, they will get short. Call with what you need off the top of your head, and they will give you great service, every time!
Got four sentences out and somehow aggravated the lady I was taking too because I wasn’t understanding what she was saying. Maybe before getting upset and rude, take a deep breath. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
I've never physically been to this place, but I ordered a used car engine from them over the phone. I Installed it and it ran great, just like they told me! I've had a lot of junk yards make false claims and end up costing me lots of money and wasting my time, so I figured this review might help someone. The engine and shipping charges were cheaper than most of the salvage yards I'd looked up. Thank you!
Needed an engine. I explained I wouldn't need it till after a certain date the next week They had me fill out an online form, put a phone number and do a $100 deposit to get on the pick list and said it was a few days from being pulled and they would contact me when it was out. I hadn't heard back so I emailed to check on it and they responded "they had been trying to call" me. I had no missed calls or voicemail from their number or area code (740). It was ready to go when I arrived later that week.
Extremely rude and mouthy people! Went to get a part for a truck got it home and the part did not fit so we took it back and the woman at the desk said they weren't going to give us another one then argued that it was the correct part we needed! How can a part be the correct part when the prongs don't even match up with the vehicle?! People like this should not deal with the public! If you need parts do not go here take your business elsewhere!
Always have what I need and I've gotten a couple salvage cars from them that have turned out to be great cars! The family is a great bunch and work their butts off to get you what you need. Jessie McKee is often greeting you when you walk in and will sit and talk with you as you wait. Hell of a nice guy! Great place
Liars, cheats, and thieves. Rude and nasty from the start. I will never go back to this establishment for any reason. I don't recommend anyone else go here unless they want to be lied to about prices and then treated like dirt. I was told $75 dollars for a core charge,then the price was changed to $100 upon arrival. When I returned the core they tried to say I only paid $75 for the core when I clearly had 2 receipts saying I paid $100. I should have read the other reviews. This place could receive repeat business if they weren't so rude and nasty.
Up until this last month, I would not have even recommended Satan to go to McKee's unless he was looking for a form of torture for the residents of Hell.
Something amazing happened here recently. I made a call to this place because I was desperate on a level I didn't think I could reach. When they answered, they were kind, and although they didn't have the part I was looking for, gave me a suggestion and the phone number to another junkyard that might be able to help! I watched my back the rest of the day.
Two weeks later I went searching for another part and went in person because the phone call wasn't such a bad experience, I decided to give it a try. It went pleasant as well. Again, didn't have exactly what I needed, but was able to compensate me so that I could make something work.
I will probably go there again in the future.
Basically, long story short, they called me back after about an hour and a half, and told me they had my part. I drive about 1 1/2 hours, to finally get there and ride around with one of their guys in a truck ( he was cool. Big dude.) We looked and looked, finally he gets on the radio and asked them at the office if they had VERIFIED that they had my part. And the response we got was, " Nah, I just figured since we had so many of that model, that we'd have to have one. We'll there goes someone ASSUMING. Wasted trip, not entirely, got some used wheels. And found my part at O'reilly's for $9.99. McKee's wanted $39.99!
Hard to find parts, they had them and at UNBELIEVABLE prices! The fast friendly customer service and organization of this colossal establishment was a definite #10. While parting the office with one of the employees to choose my parts, a blue jean and plaid shirt wearing older gentleman with neatly combed hair whom I hadn't noticed before but was also seated in the waiting area, struck a short conversation with me about simple things like different vehicles and their dependability. He presented himself as very helpful and available. I thought to myself, (what a friendly customer). Upon returning from the yard, my girlfriend tells me that she had ran in to the same gentleman and that she'd perceived him just as I did. Friendly and helpful. Upon leaving this place he then says to her: "Hey, if you ever need anything or have any problems here, let me know. I own the place!" What are the odds!? Never have I ever ran in to a more involved and helpful/available owner of a successful business of this magnitude. Also worth noting: the parts I needed were for a late model Honda. Not only are these parts hard to find, but if purchased online they would have cost me over $400.. I paid $112.35 out the door on 10/5/15. Thank you McKee Auto Parts!!!
