Great service fast a fair a lot better then A1 scrap yard and dales they just pay way to low heck cans don't bring enough to even worry keeping them unless you save for a year then take them off then ya get a petty good check.
A great scrap yard that is run by the books! I went today with zero idea on where to go or how to even begin the process of getting my copper weight and get paid, and everyone person i spoke to, which was about 5, were super patient and very nice! The men who weight it was extremely professional and the woman at the front desk was super nice! I will 100% be coming back here in the future. They will not rip you off like other scrap yards in Hickory!
Weight scale is off doesn't pay for the weight you bring for scrap was off a few hundred pounds and doesn't record it properly just total weighed almost 6000 and pulled off at 4800 got paid for 640 lbs last time I go here..
Great place to take all of your metals to be recycled for cash. You can take all kinds of metals from soda cans to whole cars. They are super friendly and helpful. They update their prices all the time to keep up with the changing metal prices. Great recycling center for metals!!
Anthony and his staff are the best fair pricing and most of all courtesy and respect for all of their customers I won’t go anywhere else Hands down the best scrapyard around today they had customer appreciation day with hotdogs and drinks for everyone thank so much guys!!!
This was my first visit to a scrap yard and the Hickory location. The lady at the front desk was very helpful in getting me thru the process which was very simple. I recommend them to anyone who would like to get some cash while being environmentally responsible.
I made my first trip to this scrap-yard this afternoon and was pleased by _the kindness of the office staff, but most of all that of Seth and the other two young guys in the warehouse. I know my way around scrap-yards, but each one is different and sometimes confusing. The staff mentioned were kind and patient as I learned the ropes of this establishment which made it less stressful for me.
In comparison to the other scrap-yard I frequented, L. Gordon is much more organized and I was shocked when I only had to go over the scale twice. I was used to going over the scales after every type of metal at the former one and dealing with office ladies that had attitudes. Today was a breath of fresh air and I will definitely be back!

Worst scrap yard in the area. I find it funny they respond to their bad reviews by explaining how they try to make things right, but then continue to do EXACTLY what the bad reviews state. If you call for a price, make sure you ask them again before accepting your cash… guarantee they are ripping you off. I have left this place more than once with what I’ve brought in, only to get paid at least double or triple the price at the 321 scrap yards. Never again!!!
I will have to say to me this is the best scrapyard in the area .when they are busy you still are able to weigh and get paid less then 30 minutes. They will help u unloading and help u separate. So u can get the most money.
Junior and Ryan that work in copper and aluminum building are very knowledgeable and willing to help. Office ladies are very professional but still down to earth and kind. Only issue that I have is their prices are often cheap and much less than A1.
Had a terrific experience! So much more helpful than that place on 321. Also they didn't cheat me like that place on 321. Thanks for being so friendly and helpful!
Very helpful! I'd only transported others there before. This time it was for myself! They were very helpful & I was surprised what they paid for my aluminum cans!! Made me a happy girl!

My company had to dispose of discontinued items. As a person that has never dealt with a scrapyard in the past, I have to say the experience we had with the employee's at the recycling company was far better than expected. I noticed that everyone was treated the same whether you have a large amount to dispose of or a small amount.
The employee's have so many different items to deal with but they get you in and out in a very timely manner. I would recommend them to anyone who has recycling needs.
5 stars for sure. This is my go to spot for recycling. Been coming here for many years. Very professional and the rates are fair. Usually pretty fast service. It can be confusing if it’s your first time but after that it’s easy. The workers are helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who has scrap metal. I will continue to come here.
Rudest bunch of people and place I have EVER been to in my life. Will tell everyone about this place. Do not recommend. Stupidest way there system works of business. Alot of back tracking. Lady at window in office couldnt, wouldn't talk up so you could hear her or understand her. Thought I was buying a car or house had to sign so many papers and the pencils they were offering for me to do so hardly was sharpened for the lead to appear on the paper. Stupid !!!! Plus Rude!!!! The guy that weighed my items I took there to sale never told me how much it was going to bring just slung it back and told me to go back to the office and they would pay me. Wish I had it to do all over.
Will definitely be returning. Usually very busy but still in and out within 10 minutes. Employees were very helpful as this was my first visit and office staff was very courteous. One employee in particular (green sleeveless shirt) had a phenomenal personality and physique, a true charmer.
Sold 186lb Brass, Had three pieces irony brass paid for irony brass for all. Went from 1.30lb to .72lb because of three pieces of metal. Need to find a new scrap yard that will be fair to customers.
