Bought an $8,000 trailer from this place but the first time i used it and put a load on it I noticed one of the tires was flat and a screw was in the tire. This was my first time using it so the only place the screw could of come from was the junk yard at Rigsbee's. I figured it would be as simple as as taking it back and surely they would recognize that the screw likely came from their yard and not from just driving down the road.
I was met with extreme disappointment when Everette and Ervin both denied ANY possibility that the screw could have come from their junk yard. They both stated there was NO possibility at all the screw could have come from their yard. Everette even accused me of knowing where the screw came from and trying to scam them! I decided to look around their gravel and dirt yard which is full of junk cars, old parts, old tires, scrap metal etc. and sure enough I was able to find 4 screws immediately. I understand there is a possibility the screw could have gotten in the tire while on the road but given all the junk they have laying all over the place at Rigsbee's, there is a 99% chance it came from there.
My problem is their reaction to the problem. Their immediate stance was that they had no responsibility and any problem is the customer's fault. We could have come to an agreement of maybe paying Half and half for a new tire but they would not even consider this.
MY BIGGEST CONCERN NOW IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF FOR SOME REASON I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRAILER!! If they didn't even consider replacing a $150 tire, what will happen if an $8,000 trailer fails!?!?!?
MY ADVICE IS DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING AT RIGSBEE'S!
Their culture is "we don't care if you buy from us or not". "We don't care if you have a problem with our products!" "A single customer/client will not make a difference for us!" They are a family owned business that think since they have been around for some years now, they will last forever..... This is a very short-sighted business plan.
I did not want to give another dime to this junk yard so I took my trailer with flat tire and had it fixed somewhere else. I have plans to buy another trailer next month so I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
