Very easy to drop off trash. There are 3 main areas for drop off:
1) Metal
2) Recycling
3) Household Trash
There is also a shed to drop off electronics and a compost area. They also have a big, separate area for dropping off yard clippings, leaves, etc. and big appliances like refrigerators and dish washers.
They say that no "box trucks" are permitted. Also no hazardous materials. Hazardous waste must be taken to big site on 55 in Holly Springs/Apex.
Great place near downtown Cary to drop off:
1. Cardboard
2. Household waste
3. Yard Waste
4. Electronics (fee based $10 per item as of Jan 2024)
5. Compostable items
I am grateful to have a place to bring my recyclables but couldn't they put up a sign next to each station listing what should/can only go into those respective bins? I throw glass and plastic into #2 as I've been directed to in the past but a sign is SUCH an easy thing to set up to communicate effectively.
Convenient place to drop off extras especially backyard green and shrubs at no charge, except some like TV and monitors and some other electronics which you may have to pay small fees. This is for Cary residents only. Attending staffs are helpful & friendly.
