Took the car I just bought in for an oil change and got them to check check the blinker bulb working. They said it was fine which let me to the computer because the window control wasn't working either and online it said the computer was the problem with though 2 symptoms.... I paid all that money and the bulbs they lied about checking were burnt out.
Just jacked my girlfriends car up and the tires the bought less than 1 year ago have wires hanging out... She paid for an alignment with the tire change. I was jacking up because it's been leaking oil around the oil filter since they changed the oil. They charge for stuff than don't do itand if they do they don't do it right.
Work is great at reasonable prices. Owners Larry and Amy really care about their customers. They are not just some rubber stamp chain business. I highly recommend them!

They told me they work on engines . And can fix my oil leak. Supposedly they fix my valve cover gasket .Still have oil around the spark plugs area. The engine bay is completely covered in oil but oil should never make it under the engine cover . But it was still leaking at the crankshaft pulley. And they don’t repair that. I got wiring connections not connected . left my wiring to my bull bar dragging in the floor also not connected can’t find my fuse for it or the cable to the switch. Overall sloppy craftsmanship. They should’ve did a thorough cleaning and inspection before starting the job and after I don’t believe they did .
I highly recommend this business. Very honest and great service. Now a days customer service is at a all time low, but this wonderful place helped us out right away, and even though it was a last-minute emergency, the price was unbelievably decent. We love using A&L Garage for our random car maintenance issues. Here recently they assisted with replacing our upper control arms. The process was quick and easy. Did a good job with the tire/oil change, but they broke the reverse lockout cable on my 5 speed transmission. Most likely didn’t know to lift the lever to put in reverse and forced it. Didn’t own up to breaking it, didn’t offer to fix the problem or even take a look at it.
EDIT: A week later I noticed that when I hit 75mph my tires make a rubbing noise. Nevermind on the good tire job.

I went to them for the first time today for brakes on my car. They were absolutely fantastic from the second i walked in the door. They were very polite and customer focused. He helped me figure out the best route for me financially and got me set up. I dropped my car off at 7ish and had it back early afternoon. I highly recommend them for your car maintenance. Have needed a couple of things done and they got me in and out quickly for a great price. If in Hertford, NC, there is no need to go anywhere else. And if it something they don't handle, they will refer you to someone that does!

I used to take my car to a shop where the owner worked previously. I was disappointed when he left because the service was never as good. Happy to discover that he has his own place and I once again have someone I can trust to service my vehicle.

I personally wouldn't go back to this garage. I had an alternator put on and they did not unhook the battery beforehand, blew 5 fuses, (were fine when I dropped it off) didn't even test drive it. I had no dash lights and none of my needles were working. Drew in the dirt on the back glass. And now I find out my horn isn't working at all. Everything worked when I dropped it off!
The owner is always willing to take the time to talk with me and help me understand what's going on with my car, he's is a really nice guy and his shop is awesome!
