We called this company after 9 on a Monday night due to a flat tire on my son's moped. Andre showed up in under 20 minutes and transported the moped to our shop. He was professional, efficient, and very friendly. We will always use this service in future!
I will call this company before others. My car wouldn't start and needed a tow. They showed up same morning that we called, strapped up and was able to tow my car from Mills River to Brevard. Donna and the tow driver were both easy to reach and kindly able to answer all my questions. They are family oriented and very prompt. Highly recommend!
I highly recommend this tow company for any and all towing needs. 1. They are family oriented. 2. They are extremely professional and offer clear and fair pricing. 3. They show up when you need. 4. Any bad reviews are one thing and one thing only: people angry at themselves for getting into a situation where they needed a tow truck and then being upset they had to pay a company a fair price for their own mistake. That's it. Think about it though: If they didn't make any money they wouldn't be there, reliably to pull your vehicle, safely, out of a bad situation whether stuck or broken down. I had a terrible experience with this tow company that resulted in significant damage to my car. Here are the key reasons why you should avoid them:
1. Car Damaged While Being Towed
The company's equipment is extremely rudimentary—essentially just an iron hook. During the towing process, the hook damaged my car’s wheel, while the iron chain caused severe damage to the frame and body. My car was simply stuck in the snow when I parked the car off the road with no prior damage, but their unprofessional towing caused thousands of dollars in damage to my rims, paint, and body panels. When I showed the towing video to my car dealership, they were shocked at the unprofessional and careless handling.
To make matters worse, after the towing was completed and the damage was evident, the technician had the audacity to tell me: "There is a term you signed saying we are not responsible for any damage, so you can do nothing about it." This blatant disregard for accountability is unacceptable.
2. Overpriced and Unprofessional
‼275$‼ for only pulling me out of the snow less than 1 meter distance. As mentioned in many other reviews, their pricing is significantly higher than standard rates. However, what makes this even worse is the appalling service and outdated equipment. This was hands down the worst towing experience I have ever had, not just locally but globally.
3. Additionally, beware of the positive reviews. Many of them appear to be fake and left by friends of the company to mislead customers.

If you care about your car and your wallet, stay far away from this company. ‼They are overpriced, unprofessional, and lack basic equipment or skills to provide a safe towing service. ‼Save yourself the frustration and go with a reputable, professional towing company instead.
I am beyond satisfied with Rakk towing! Not only are they very quick to respond, they are very friendly and helpful! Rakk towing has towed multiple of my vehicles on numerous occasions, and will be calling him again next time I need a tow, jump, tire changed, or get me in my car after I lock myself in!
ABOVE AND BEYOND! This is what happens when an infantryman gets ahold of a tow truck I had a dump truck loaded down with an equipment trailer stuff on the side of a mountain at 2 in the morning. I call Rakk and not only did he actually answer he said that he would be there in 20 minutes. I thought, yeah right and went to lay to down. 20 minutes later the whole forest started glowing amber and white with his tow trucks lights! Darryl did a quick check of the situation and started running cables and pulleys. My truck weighed in at 22,000 pounds and was hanging over a cliff so this was not an easy job. We had come for Helena relief and packed extra heavy. Darryl worked for the next 3 hours adjusting every which way to get us to budge. After much heavy work we were able to finally gain enough traction to get up the hill. We unloaded the skid steer and pushed the trailer for a portion of the hill until the truck could pull itself up. We drove the Skid steer to the top of the hill and reloaded it there. Darryl remained with us and helped us chain down our equipment. Darryl stood there covered in mud and grease and refused payment! He just thanked us for coming to help the people of Saluda, NC. This is guy is a great! He enjoys figuring things out and is a combat veteran that doesn’t shy away from tough situations. Thank you so much RAKK
Drive shaft came off while driving morning. Had no luck with AAA on getting towed to the mechanic but Rakk Tow & Recovery came to the rescue. He came within 30 minutes of the call and in less than an hour we were leaving the mechanic having dropped off the car for repair. Can’t thank him enough for coming to the rescue. Rakk is my new roadside hero! I had a flat tire and a spare, but the lug nuts were stripped from being crappy after market lug nuts and before he made it to the scene, several people tried and tried to loosen the lugs with no luck. He came in 15 minutes flat and got me back on the road in 15 minutes. He's ths best youre gonna get around here. He's reasonable and dependable and fast and does the job 100%. The best service I've ever gotten anywhere. I'm from Baltimore and my car got stuck, so naturally I freaked out being so far from home. But between the woman on the phone being so polite, helpful, and reassuring, and the really nice man who pulled me out calming me down as well, my experience was very pleasant. Not only that, but they charged a fraction of what I've paid anyone else for a tow EVER. If only we had those two working up here in Maryland Asheville is lucky!
This company is run by excellent people. During and after the hurricane that destroyed western NC, they went out of their way to help, comfort, and feed many people and families. It’s always a pleasure to do business with people who actually care about others and not just profits.
We slid backwards on steep gravel backwards into a ditch and needed help. The first tow company I was able to get hold of quoted a very high price to winch us out and 60-90 minutes to arrive. Rakk was there in 15 minutes, winched us out, and charged a fair price. I highly recommend them.
I have thankfully only needed a wrecker service twice in life: once in Tennessee and once today (11/5/24). The first experienced flat out sucked, so I was scared of what was to come. However, Darrel (hopefully I spelled it right), was awesome. He answered the phone and was out there in 30 minutes. He was extremely professional, courteous and understanding of the situation. I would have been stranded in the middle of nowhere for god knows how long had it not been for Darrel and Rakk. If you need a tow, and you’re looking for a great company, use them: period.

Absolutely terrible I’m at the rest area off the 95 which the direction says it’s five minutes away from this tow company and when I called the person sounded like they just woke up and they would not even come terrible absolutely terrible
PREDATORY TOWING! I called Rakk Towing & Recovery on a recommendation to have my son's truck pulled out of some loose rock where it was stuck off of the road alongside a railroad tracks 2.5 miles from their office (photo of truck placement included). they did not give me an estimate nor tell me how much it was going to cost before they pulled it out and then charged me $450. this IS price gouging.. BEWARE
I am editing this because it will not let me respond to your reply. I don't care where he was or what he was doing, he was told he was being charged extra because of his attitude. He was not told he was being charged extra because of the extra work. I am mad because there was extra money charged for that reason. The professional thing to do would have been to deny the job and I would have been perfectly fine with that and he would have had to suck it up. If he had been given a quote before the work was done and called me I would have told him no. I paid the bill because it was the right thing to do because people came out and did work, not to bail him out as you say. Do you know he was doing meth or are you guessing? If you knew he was doing something illegal then why help him? If I know he's doing something illegal I'm not going to help him but nobody even said anything about that to me. All I got was a bunch of attitude directed at me that had zero to do with me. But I will say it again, the professional thing to do would have been to refuse the job, or at the very least explain the situation to me when I called and you already knew who it was because I had no clue.
The amount of volunteer work done during the hurricane speaks volumes about the kind of person you want to hire when you need help. Deserves more than 5 stars, but that's all I can give. God bless.

1) Darrell saved my brother and sister in law after no one else could rescue them from the mud and carnage following this natural disaster
2) Darrell is a veteran and an incredible American. Because my brother and SIL were in western NC to help recovery efforts and got stuck in the wee hours of the morning, Darrell charged them nothing for the long hours he worked.
3) Darrell is a hero many times over and should be considered the first call one considers when trouble arises.

Rakk Towing is locally owned and knows how to give customer care to hometown people. I highly recommend Rakk Towing for all services.
These people charged me $225 for simply pulling my vehicle 2 feet out of some loose dirt where my tires had dug a hole pulling out of a driveway onto a gravel road with very bald tires. I was stuck only 1.5 miles from their businesses location. DO NOT TRUST THEM OR EVER USE THEM. They didn't display the price when I used my phone to tap to pay. I'm homeless I live in the van they pulled out and they knew it because they got in the vehicle several times and saw the bed inside. I watched him turn around and look at it and then do a double take. What kind of person does that to someone they can tell is already down on their luck.
The person I called was very straightforward and arrived to help as soon as he could.
He went above and beyond, and really helped me out.
I think the negative reviews towards this company are mostly ignorant folks that do not have their facts straight and have a victim mind-set in general.
If I ever need assistance with my vehicle again, I’ll will be calling them.

These people are beyond rude. They charged 500 dollar to tow and hold at a lot. Then another 85 dollars to tow it not even 2 miles down the road. They are so rude they won't even give you a receipt. They broke into our van to tow without our permission.

Nothing but rudeness ffrom 1st call till I got my vehicle back. Daryl speaking of other guy was very nice! It was a very stressful situation. But honestly I'm just Appalled by way I was treated and when I seen my car no words to say just glad this is over.
