Very limited on basic critical marine parts for a Napa marine store. Didn’t have an $80 relay for a super common engine so they sent me up the street to the marina where they wanted over $320 for the same part. Ended up buying aftermarket off Amazon and driving to Roanoke rapids for pickup the next day. Don’t call yourself a marine store if you don’t carry basic marine parts
I needed a $10 relay for my jet ski. I provided make and model and brought in the failed part so they could match it. They sold me a replacement for $30 which I was ok with because I needed it now.
When I plugged in the new relay the electronics would power up, but the starter would not engage. I did my own research and found they sold me a 20amp relay when the correct match was a 30 amp relay.
When I called back with the correct part number, I was told they will not accept a return. I would need to pay another $30 to get the part I need.
It is inconceivable that someone will admit they made a mistake selling you the wrong part and at the same time refuse to accept a return in exchange for the correct part.
Furthermore if the 20 amp had worked it can overheat and catch fire. So that’s way more concerning than their return policy.
This is the worst NAPA I have ever been in. I have been there a couple of times now for parts and the staff is not helpful at all. Two guys just sitting behind the desk not wanting to be engaged whatsoever!
Update: changing review to 5 stars. Thanks to the owner for clearing up the situation. There was simply a miscommunication with our return (there was no restocking fee) on our end. We appreciate the quick response and courtesy shown by Nikki!
I have used this Napa for years with relatively decent success. Unfortunately, their customer service and competency are now suffering. I called to get a quote on a vehicle battery (I gave them the exact model number of the battery, not the vehicle) which they quoted the best price they could give me was $135. When I got there, they wanted to charge me $204 and said they looked it up wrong. They would not honor the price that they quoted me even though it was their mistake and didn’t even offer any type of allowance for the hour round trip I just traveled to give them business. I won’t say I’ll never go back there again, but it will only be if I can’t get something somewhere else even at a higher price. Your word is your bond.
Don't waist your time. Find another store. Staff is not courteous, seems bothered by customers asking questions, not helpful at all. Got a quote for hydraulic hoses of $100, $200, or $300 each. For sure never going back there...
I bought a battery from NAPA in Garner NC on 01/17/23. This past Saturday while i was out of town, my battery died. I went into the NAPA in Littleton NC with the battery showing 1/23 and because I didn't have the receipt with me, they would not honor the return of it.
While troubleshooting an issue with the brakes on my car, I stopped in to buy some cleaner. Asked if there was a good garage because I knew it was a bigger issue than cleaning. They were very nice and referred me to Auto Lane.
I moved to Lake Gaston 2 years ago, and have been to this Napa only a hand full of times because choice is limited around the lake. Every visit is the same. No customer service, no help, no effort, and ridiculously high prices because they are the only show in town. Never again....even if they were the last parts place in North Carolina will never give this place another chance. By far, the worst place to display NAPAs name.
Lazy people work here. They act like they don’t know anything about auto parts. If this were my business I would find employees that are courteous and knowledgeable. I’m sure it does okay business (only because it’s the only auto parts store in this area), but it could be much better with better employees. Bad customer service found here.
Neither employee working here seems to know much about their job. They were not helpful. Very frustrating, to say the least. Don’t waste your time or money here. This Napa does NOT know how! If they do, the employees are not willing to show you. “Bumps on a log” Very sad. A knowledgeable auto parts store that has motivated employees would do good in this area.
Very unknolegable staff. Every question I had was answered by I don't know. I was buying brake pads and rotors and they couldn't tell me if the more expensive choices where better than the cheaper. Couldn't even tell me the difference. Said I don't know. I have never been to an auto parts store that knew nothing about thier products. Couldn't even recommend which parts to get when he gave me choices. Just said I don't know. I'll never buy parts here again
Living near the lake, it's really handy to have a place where you can get both automotive and marine parts in the same store. I have gone there for both car and boat items, the staff were very helpful in helping me find the right belt to use for my boat lift.
