Horrible experience ! Towing company is a huge scam. I just moved to my apartment complex 4 days ago and my car has been towed. Mind you my parking permit is in the window and my tags are good. I call to ask why was it towed after telling guy who answered the phone my things were in order so it was no reason for them to tow. He says oh well we got a car saying you were double parked. Mind you when I pulled in yesterday I parked between two cars in front of my building so it was no way I could have double parked. He then says oh well it’s still 350 cash. A bunch of money greedy scammers. I’ve already filed a complaint with the attorney general and I will also be contacting my lawyer and taking this as far as I need to.
I had an incredibly frustrating experience with New Era and CAT towing. Their behavior was nothing short of unprofessional and downright disrespectful. They scammed me as well as a few others during homecoming events at NCAT. They did this by overcharging for their services ($460, $400, different prices) and their customer service was appalling—rude and unhelpful. They worked with a "parking attendent" to scam those attending the festivities into parking for $15. From there, they followed up by "removing" the vehicle as it was now deemed "illegally parked". When asked to speak with the owner of this company (Chris) about this manner to explain what happened, we were met with resistance and rudeness. They only accept cash, refused to negotiate, and were willing to leave elderly people in the cold in order to go get "more cars". It was a joke to them and an insult to all those that were impacted. Guildford County Sherrif's office had to intervene. I would strongly advise anyone to steer clear of this company, Speak with your lawyer, and file a civil claim as many are doing.
