Absolutely horrible experience. Next time. I will NEVER call sawyers again. I needed their service due to my family member's vehicle stuck on the road, and instead of them being honest and telling me that they had no idea what time they would get to me, they lead me on continuously telling me that a driver is 25 mins out. After 3 HOURS someone finally showed up. NEVER AGAIN!
This place is a bait-and-switch scam, and they will threaten you if you call them out.
My car was towed here. When I called, a woman told me it would be “about $180 plus a small storage fee
Im on vacation so I'll get back to you.” Total lie to get me there.
When I showed up, the man at the front demanded $450 for just two days of storage. I told him what I was quoted, and he scribbled random numbers on a piece of paper to justify it. He wouldnt specify at all what the charges were.
When I called the woman back to explain her original pricing to the man (who I found out is the owner but he pretended not to be) she started screaming and denying what she had said. She then admitted to that price but she said the price changed and there are more charges. Again, couldnt get either of them to explain simply why. I told them both this was unprofessional, and the man PHYSICALLY threatened me, getting in my face, ready to fight me for simply calling out their scam. To be clear, never once did I raise my voice, over argue, or act out in any sort of way to justify this reaction. Simply, they were upset that I was wanting explanations to charges and and explanations as to why I was quoted one price and then my next price was more than double.
Turns out, the woman and the man are MARRIED. I found this out because he said i disrespected his wife over the phone by calling her unprofessional and he got more upset. They are working together to rip people off while pretending not to know each other. It’s a con: they quote low, trap your car, then demand triple the price and will threaten you if you push back. After I made both of them mad they were looking for some BS reason to further keep my vehicle and I threatened to call the police at this point the man suddenly lowered the price and let it leave.
Avoid this place at all costs. They are dishonest, aggressive, and will not hesitate to escalate to threats if you question their scam.
I’ve had a few tows in the past that didn’t go very well but Mr Perry was very professional and accommodated my lowered car. Hands down the best service I’ve ever received. I’ll recommend to others in the area!
my car was stolen from me on july the 3rd, i was robbed at gunpoint, they wrecked the vehicle in pursuit. police outsourced to them who towed my car from charlotte to the police station, once it was done, the police station didn’t notify me and just had it towed to sawyers since i owed them money at that point for the tow from charlotte to Gastonia (which i did not give them consent to do, i would have used my insurance if they would have communicated, i only knew my car was wrecked that night because of crash detection on a phone in the vehicle)
But, since it was right at the holiday they were closed the 3rd, 4th, 5th which was a friday, 6th, and 7th. i called up there EVERYDAY trying to get my car out. they wanted 600$ for something i had ZERO control over. i was a VICTIM in the situation.
i hope karma gives you guys what you deserve. screwing completely innocent people over for a living will take a toll on you eventually.
This place is awful. I was arrested and they had to tow my vehicle. EVERYTHING of any value besides a car seat was STOLEN from the vehicle. A wedding band, NFL football, Apple AirPods, medications! I can’t prove they have my keys but I think they have those too! The Gaston County Police station should pick someone else to tow but I suppose they could care less honestly.
I called a little after 3:00 PM. Wouldn’t answer the phone. When I called back again “Stuck in traffic.” At 6:15 I called to cancel & no one would answer the phone. I called from another phone & canceled. Horrible customer service!

My car was towed here after being totaled by another driver. The tow truck driver took off with my car without asking if I needed a single thing (including my house keys!). I called their office and told them they took off with my house keys and they told me that it wasn’t their responsibility and that I had to come to THEM (them knowing I was on my way to the HOSPITAL). I had to have a coworker go by and get my keys from them. A week later, I call the office and tell them I need to get the rest of my belongings out of the car and tell them I am not signing the car over to insurance yet. They sent someone out and I had to wait OVER AN HOUR longer than they said. Finally, a morbidly obese blonde man shows up and demands I sign insurance forms I already told their office I wasn’t prepared to sign yet. He then locks the gate up and holds MY belongings hostage. I had to call the sheriff out just to get my own property out of the car! This place is ran by absolute scum who will literally lie, cheat, and steal from you. DO NOT LET SAWYER’S TOWING ANYWHERE NEAR YOUR VEHICLE
We pick up wrecks in all 48 states from wrecker yards. By far the worst I have ever ran into in thirty years of business. Such a bad experience. Took 4 days for a wire transfer to clear. Just happen to clear the night they got another $300.00 for a truck to set on their high priced lot. If you have a vehicle here call another wrecker yard company to get it out quickly. So said their are people running business this way.
Well I was told to hurry and get to where my car was because someone was on the way. So 30 minutes later I called and they said he is 5 minutes away. So i wait, 45 minutes go by..... Nothing, so I call. Oh he said he got stuck in traffic he is going to be right there. Again I wait, 30 minutes and I called back and said could I just leave the key and the money with Mark's Garage since that's who is working on it. They finally got my car to him after 1.5 more hours.
The worse customer experience. I was stuck on the highway with a flat returning to Atlanta from Charlotte. I called my emergency service who reached out to Sawyer for assistance. They said 45min… my service called them back to get an update… no response! No show!
Use this service to tow my car and get a charge impound have a total of 495 it was only going a quarter of a mile to a mechanic shop and he also took two hours and a half to get to me and when he did I asked him not to tow my car because I couldn’t find the key. He then put my car in the live as I was upstairs and told me he was going to impound my car for the time I spent looking for my key which they did I picked up my car today and a charge of $495 From just asking him to tow my car only 3 blocks to a repair shop
One of the drivers confronted me at a food lion in Belmont, NC while I had my 14 month old daughter in my arms and loading my groceries while in the parking lot. Apparently, he wasn’t happy about my reaction to his almost hitting my daughter and I with his truck as he sped through the lot. NC License plate ZH-9202. This man was clearly aggressive and trying to intimidate me with no regard for my baby in my arms. He stopped his truck, backed it up to where we were, mumbled something incoherent out the window and was visibly upset. Reference the photos below. It’s a crazy world we live in these days. Can’t be too careful anymore.
I needed my Pathy towed from an intersection after the fuel pump died. AAA was gonna be 2+ hours and my Pathy was in the intersection where 8 men were fixing the road in the sweltering heat. I called Sawyers as they advertised a "$69 tow" and were a mile away. I didn't get to use my AAA but I did get my Pathy to my mechanic and in less than one hour. The guy was polite, professional and gave me a ride home after my truck got delivered...only 3 miles away. I tipped him well.
These people are crooks! My car was unlawfully and wrongfully towed by this company from an apartment complex where I was legally parked correctly and had every right to be at. They allowed the neighbor (WHO IS NOT THE PROPERTY OWNER) authorize the towing of MY vehicle. NC state law states only the PROPERTY OWNER has the right to authorize a car to be towed from private property. Neighbor stated my car was "blocking a driveway" and the tower didn't have enough sense to CLEARLY see my car was parked in a legal parking spot. Literally took my car just to make money, $514.80 to be exact. When I called, to get more information Theresa was extremely rude and unprofessional. She even hung up on me several times.
We were on our 2nd car rental from budget with so much frustration and 4 hours on the phone with budget Lance showed up to tow the rental car and bring us to pick up the 3rd and worst disaster to Charlotte airport! He was such a gentleman and kind heart! He made a bad situation better for the time we were in his truck! Highly recommend this towing company
I usually don’t listen to a lot of 1 star reviews, but be sure to carefully read the multiple reviews of the manager hanging up on you. After having our car towed here, the key went missing. When we showed up to gather our belongings from the car we even made sure to ask where the key was & it was confirmed the key was there. After we found out the key was lost. The tow guy who was “new” said that he never remembered getting the key even after we had proof that we did in fact give him the key. After asking for the manager she ended up hanging up on me. The key ended up being found, but for poor customer service and unprofessionalism, don’t choose this business.
I had a flat on 85...one of my worst fears..and Sawyer Towing to the rescue. I don't remember the dispatchers name, but he was reassuring and let me know that they would take care of things. Zac was personable and quick...I was upset and talking his head off, and he rolled with it. I cannot appreciate the service I was given more...thanks so much!!
I waited on Triple A to tow my vehicle for over 2 hours
I never spoke to a person but did get two text messages. My call at 7:30 pm said they were on the way and should arrive at 8:45. The second message ai 9:30 said they would arrive at 9:17. Needless to say I was angry by this time so I called Sawyers. The young lady that answered the phone was very polite and told me a driver would be there shortly and he was. He was very polite. Worked quickly and had my car up on the flatbed in a very short time
Everything went smoothly and I was on my way in about 30 minutes from the time I called. Very pleased with the service I received and will use them again
They are in my cell phone to give me quick access when or if they are needed again.
We went to check on our vehicle and my husband was about to pass out Scott ran to help me just in time to keep my husband from hitting the pavement. He then helped me get him up and took him inside to the air condition and let us stay until he was better. He went to our vehicle with me so I could take pictures of the wreck damage. He then let me drive my car close to rhe door and helped him in the car. I could never explain how much that meant to me and my husband. Excellent customer service. Above and beyond, very caring and considerate.

Husband and I broke down on 85. Called to get a tow to a nearby gas station to get oil and a jump. $65 for 1/4 mile off the highway. Oil didn’t work the tow driver said he could use his mobile jumping and it just so happened to be dead which told us another 50 to get down to another location. Got there and now charged 400 to tow back to Winston from Gastonia. We agreed & the driver picked us up & said he needed diesel first. Now that we have it he has a low tire and waiting on another truck this is ridiculous and beyond unprofessional
Called these guys and the women who answered the phone said they would be at my location in 30 minutes. Me, my wife, and our infant twins waited on the side of the road less than 10 minutes away from there shop for over an hour. I called them after 30 minutes wondering where the driver was the women said the driver was on his way. Again we waited for another 30 minutes and the driver still was not at my location. DO NOT USE THESE CLOWNS as they will waist your time and money and they clearly don’t care about the people who are in need of their assistance.
Will say much love and respect to the tow truck drivers. They did what they was suppose to do. But to the lady named Teresa that handles the pricing. She's unprofessional. She told me one price. Then when truck was loaded. It was a different price. By about 150 bucks. I even asked her the price before everything was said and done. Will defiantly call goudelock towing in Gastonia next time.
I should have called them first!!!!!! Sat on the road for almost 2 hours trying to find a rollback. Everybody was booked up. Called them and were there within 10 minutes. Best customer service. Very professional and Glenn showed concern about me being stranded. Definitely know who I will be calling next time.
When you walk out of the the gas station and your starter has decided to die at 10 pm on a Wednesday night, this is who you call. I did! They got to me really quick and got my dead car & myself home safely. Really nice couple working together to help others when they have car troubles. Only towing service I'll use or recommend!
I was literally stranded in Lancaster, SC with my 73 year old mother at 2 am with not a tow in sight. My alternator went after a long 13 hour drive back from CT because my brother had to have emergency surgery. Nervous and frustrated because I was told by AAA after my second call that we'd have to wait until 5:30am for help due to no one being available in my vicinity. After waiting 3 and a half hours, I finally saw a tow and it was Sawyer's. Even though I was still frustrated and nervous, Jacob M. and David N. were absolutely amazing. They were both understanding and were able to calm my mother and I down and get us & my truck home safely. We ended our experience with all smiles! Oh and did I mention that they traveled from Gastonia, NC to Lancaster, SC after being on call for 72 hours and just a couple hours of sleep!!!! Sawyer's absolutely rocks! Even though I live in Lancaster, SC, Sawyer's will be the ones I'll always call. Thank you !!
Car would not start so called to either have battery charged or car towed. Hour and a half later no truck. Called several times to cancel and went to full voicemail. Tried to send email and it kicked back. Would not use this company.
